PHARMACY-SPECIFIC REVIEW: Disorganized. Rude. Smug. The epitome of dangerous hubris. I wouldn't wish this pharmacy on my worst enemy. They shouldn't be allowed to dispense gum. Here's the horror show I've been dealing with: Two prescriptions were called in on August 8th. These were refills to me, but I'd never picked up from this pharmacy before. I moved a year ago and hadn't needed refills during that time as I use these medications sparingly. (My old pharmacy was not a Walgreens). I don't get a call or text after 3 days. I tried to call but no one picked up (ever), so I went to the drive-up after 6 days, on August 14th. There was no one else in line. I rang the bell. Was asked to wait. 10 minutes passed. I rang the bell again. I was asked to wait. 8 minutes later someone asks how they can help me. There's horrific banging/construction noises and I could barely hear them. I gave them my name and birthdate. They told me no prescriptions were ready and none had been called in. I asked them to check again. 7 minutes later they returned to confirm they did get the prescriptions (on the 8th) but they weren't ready. After 6 days. I was told I could return in 2 hours to pick them both up. I left after almost 30 wasted minutes. I couldn't make it back the same day so I went the next day, on August 15th. 16 minutes of waiting. Then I'm told...no prescriptions were ready, none had been called in. I explained everything that happened yesterday. They looked again. Found them again. One medication (for ADHD) they were out of. (Note: My doctor called it into CVS and I got a text within 90 minutes that it was ready). My second prescription (for anxiety)? The pharmacist asked my doctor for additional information... I called my doctor's office. The pharmacist was requesting my session notes. The private notes about my anxiety condition that I've had for 15 years. I approved this because I'm not ashamed of my anxiety, but I couldn't believe it. Even though this medication had been prescribed for me before with no problematic side effects the pharmacist insisted on seeing my notes. On August 17th I called Walgreens again to see if my prescription was ready. I was told they were still waiting for my session notes. I called my doctor's office, they told me they'd been faxed and confirmed received on August 15th. I called Walgreens, told them they confirmed receipt of the notes two days earlier. I was then told the notes were "under review." On August 18th I called Walgreens again. The guy who answered the phone told me the pharmacist reviewed my notes and was DECLINING TO FILL THE PRESCRIPTION because there was "NO CLINICAL JUSTIFICATION FOR THE PATIENT'S USAGE OF THIS MEDICATION." So, a stranger I've never met decided they know better than me, my prescribing doctor, and 15 years of successful mitigation. I'm disgusted by this place. I've filed a complaint with the CA State Board of Pharmacy because I want to spare others the stress and anxiety I was put through, not to mention the time that was wasted. I feel sorry for anyone who works here who isn't incompetent and awful, because I dealt with incredibly inept people who had no bedside manner whatsoever. read more

I work for an urgent care & patients come here because it is close but it's gotten to the point where we've told patients not to go there anymore because of all the problems we've had. For the love of god please change the signage for the pharmacy lines. There is one line for drop off/pickup and one for express pickup. Here waiting to get vaccinated. My appointment was scheduled at 11:15am it is now 12:10pm. This pharmacy is a mess. Although these workers are working really hard & trying their best, this is not acceptable. This review is mainly for their passport photo service. DO NOT bother here. The passport photos I got were amateur and dark. They weren't acceptable to the USPS so I got them done there instead and came out a lot better.... the USPS guy even recommended Costco as a better place to do it. Also, remember you have to look at that photo for the next 10 years probably .... the USPS even had a prepared note for me to give back to Walgreens saying the photos weren't acceptable should there be a problem getting a refund. I am a handicapped senior citizen and when I went to the pharmacy to ask for an item the pharmacist and girl both did not know where it was so I was able to order it online. Over the last year I understand the need to cut personal but business has not slowed down at this location at all but the pharmacy department has one counter attendant while have 5 or more customers in store line and 4 or more cars in the drive-thru. Even though the location is super ghetto, I love this pharmacy. The staff are friendly and efficient, unlike the incompetent technicians at CVS on Sherman Way and Sepulveda Blvd. And the drive-thru service is excellent. I had a good experience here with Hong, the Pharamcy Tech. I called ahead to find out if an Rx was in stock. She confirmed that it was and informed me that they weren't busy at the moment. She said it would only take 15-20 minutes to fill. Upon my arrival, she took all my info, inputted my data as a new customer and confirmed that it would take about 15 minutes. Sure enough, 15 minutes later, I hear my name called on the intercom. If I could give this Pharmacy 0 stars, I would. They're completely understaffed. The staff they do have, take 2hr lunch breaks. So when you come they'll likely to be "closed" and on a lunch break (OUTSIDE of the hours they have posted which states lunch from 1:30-2 - don't count on them returning any earlier than 2:30). Absolutely the worst service ever. I wouldn't go to this pharmacy if I could help it in the least. I called ahead from the hospital to "register" so that my scripts would be ready. They didn't follow through and register me so then I was told to wait an hour. I waited nearly two hours because the line was so long to get back to the window. When I got to the window they said it would be 3 or 4 more minutes but I had to get out of line and wait another 50-60 minutes in the line again. The pharmacist had the audacity to tell me that if I wasn't upset about it then she could have already had it done but she wouldn't do it unless I got out of line. Around 8:15 we saw them turn away 2 more appointments, acting perplexed that anyone had an appointment for today. Then when we heard the pharmacist telling the technician not to let people wait since they won't fill it anyway, we left. Its open 24 hours, aisles are clean. The pharmacy is not 24 hours, so if you need to refill your order, dont come here past 8pm. The staff is usually helpful and the rewards program is pretty helpful when they have 1/2 off on items, you can save a few bucks on that. They usually have items not found at cvs or riteaid. Outside of the cvs its a whole different story, you got the usual people who ask for money the people who are standing outside and other individuals who are waiting for the bus, there is a bus stop on the corner of the store.There is a private parking lot, so no worries there. read more

Racially profiled at the pharmacy.. I was running low on funds when I got my prescription so I decided to wait a little till I got some money to fill it as seeing prescriptions can be expensive. When I got to the counter the lady asked me if I had been there before and I replied no because I had forgotten that I'd filled a prescription there before but not at that location a very long time ago. Then she went to say because I haven't been at the Walgreens before that she had to verify my prescription. I didn't get bothered by that, I was bothered by the fact that she said it may never get filled, to which I replied never? I then said that I just need the doctor to see that I tried to fill it and that I was given it three days ago. She then asked me if I had gone anywhere else to try and fill it because it's been three days. I said no and that I was entitled to go to the nearest pharmacy rather than drive a million miles to the next. Bottom line she didn't want to fill my prescription even though they've filled for me in the past. But let another race walk through that line and it's how may I help you sir or madam..never again!!! Wow. I have to say this is the worst pharmacy experience I've ever had. The messed up my prescription. Lied about it, and then laughed at me when I became visible upset. I had been back and forth with them for two weeks, they kept saying they were waiting on my insurance to send them something. I finally called my insurance and they said that's wasn't the case. I finally went in for maybe the third time and I was helped by Christian and Christina. They both gave me the same story, and when I expressed frustration over being without an important medicine I was supposed to start on two weeks prior, Christian and Christian started laughing. I asked him why he was laughing- this was very serious for me and he and Christina just kept looking at each other, smirking and giggling. I continued to ask them to help me figure out what the problem is and both Christian and Christina just straight at their computers, not answering. Then they just walked away. I then called my insurance company and a manager got on the phone and asked to be put on speaker. The woman from my insurance company gave them a verbal SMACKDOWN and told them exactly what that had failed to do. They were giving her minimal answers, attitude, and even walked away while she was speaking. Then said she was going to report them for fraud. They didn't think that was funny. Christina started rolling her eyes with annoyance like a JR high girl and got quiet. About 15 seconds later Christian mumbles "we made a mistake". I am floored these people are given a customer service position. They almost had me in tears. My prescription was given to me the next day. Brought my mom for the covid vaccine appointment here. She was discriminated by her nationality and got refused because she did not have an id issued in the US. She presented her valid passport issued in another country as a photo id and a proof of age. Her visitor's health insurance was also rejected. The pharmacy worker and her manager did not know how to process her case and were worried because they did not know "who to bill". There is a statement from DHS saying that "It is a moral and public health imperative to ensure that all individuals residing in the United States have access to the vaccine. DHS is committed to ensuring that every individual who needs a vaccine can get one, regardless of their immigration status." Official California state government website states that "vaccine distribution is based on eligibility irrespective of residency or immigration status." As per this pharmacy's incompetent workers anybody without a US-issued id an/or particular health insurance is ineligible. It is unethical and unlawful. read more

The pharmacy here is the absolute worse. I take a Rx that is 20 mg total but the medication only comes in increments of 4mg so I take an 8 and 12mg dose of the medication. They hassle me Everytime I come to pickup the Rx, they never have the 12mg and so they say they will order it and when I call after a couple days I find out they never ordered it and then get interrogated on the phone as to why I'm getting a 12 when I just picked up an 8. I even had the pharmacist question me one time about the legitimacy of my doctor's diagnosis. They are so unorganized and unprofessional at this pharmacy.
