BUT -- there are some pretty great staff members who work at the CVS Swampscott, and top of my list -- top of anybody's list -- should be TARON. There was an error in my prescription (whether from the doctor or CVS, I don't know). Taron listened carefully. He empathized. He didn't blame anyone else (It was NOT his fault), but instead decided to make it right. He not only fixed the ambiguous instructions on my prescription, but did so for everyone who would ever order it again. And he made sure that the follow-up was ready. When I arrived to pick up my meds, I asked to speak to him, and gave him a serious holler-out. I think SO many people who work behind the counter, whether at CVS or a restaurant or retail, really feel they can't have an impact. But a cheery greeting, a genuine expression of welcome, and the responsibility for making things right and quick and effortless makes a big, lasting difference. The woman who takes my order at McDonald's really does affect my mood for a surprisingly long time -- a bored grunt versus a lively interaction makes a difference. To all those who get it, and particularly again to Taron (and Patrick, who was on duty late!), my lasting thanks. And even though this CVS is never a place (Will it change?) in which I'd buy soda or candy or tissues, it is a place I now feel more confident and comfortable about as a place to get my meds, and get them right. The store itself had a lot of empty shelves but that seems to be a problem everywhere you go these days. I'm glad I had insurance because the meds would have been so expensive otherwise!

I don't fill anything too crazy and have average needs as a pharmacy patient, but even if I had more needs for care and even for delivery of meds, I wouldn't hesitate giving Eastern a call. The doctor prescribed azithromycin. It was outside of the pharmacy's business hours, but I decided to send the prescription there and get it the next day rather than go somewhere else. I stepped out into the parking lot and my phone rang. It was Evan. He had dropped in to work to deal with some odds and ends and saw that I'd been given an antibiotic. He wanted to know if I needed it immediately. I was fine waiting until Monday and the doctor had agreed. So on Monday, my medicine was delivered (as always) free of charge (as always). Evan is a kind, concerned health care provider, not a store manager pinned down by quotas. He cares for his patients, and even just now took my call right away because I had some questions for him. I drove all the way out only to find that all the pickup parking spots were taken. That part was out of my control, so I waited for one to open and checked in on the app. After 15 minutes, it became clear why the lot was so full--no one was getting their orders. In total, I waited over half an hour for a single small LEGO set. What was even more concerning was that I received my order before others who had clearly been waiting longer. I really wish there were a better pickup process here. I would have gladly gone inside to get it (I was surprised that wasn't even an option). If you need to pick something up from Walmart, I'd recommend avoiding this location or having your order shipped instead.

The clothing departments are scattered about, and I couldn't tell when I was leaving one category and entering another. The cashiers are HORRIBLY SLOW. I had to go BEHIND the register to grab one of my bags because the cashier didn't hand it to me (or even acknowledge that it was mine). The frosting on the cake was when I realized one of my products was damaged as I was leaving the store. I asked for help, and she pointed to another employee who was the "manager". I approached the "manager" and said hi, and she said "what" very coldly. I explained the situation, she denied being the manager, and then started verbally fighting with the first employee.
