They close for longer than I feel like they say online, sometimes i'll come at 3pm and the pharmacy has just decided to be closed so i have to come back another day.. so inconvenient and they really couldn't care less. We think the customer service at this Walgreens, particularly the pharmacy customer service, is top notch. To a person, the staff are caring and helpful. They have giving us wonderful service, even phone calls to see how we are doing on a new medicine, but also we have seen them speak tenderly to vulnerable people who are having difficulty describing what they need. Waited 35 minutes at the pharmacy. The pharmacists had told us it would take 10-15. Didn't happen. A waste of 35 minutes.

When you pick up your prescription, you can sometimes wait quite a long time. It can take up to 30 minutes. That happened to me once. But what I find unacceptable is that there is no access to the bathroom. This is absolutely unacceptable. I will look for another pharmacy that is more fair to the customer. If you have some kind of physical problems, you don't want to wait at Walgreens. read more

Truly shocked at how rude an employee was here. I'm only writing this in hopes it can reach the correct management team. The tall younger guy with dark hair and dark eyes was so awful to a customer after me. It was an old man who wasn't able to see very well and he was so unprofessional saying sarcastic things like "can you just pick a window?" And "yeah well if you just show me the paper already I can probably help you" so loud practically yelling at him for just not being able to navigate the counter due to poor eyesight. If he had spoken to me this way I would have been in tears. Photo department, could not do a simple job of getting me a passport pictures in digital form. First I was planning to submit a paper form but then learned it's online only. So I called the store, and we'll you'd think my picture was taken with a digital camera just 30 minutes ago. How hard would it be to email it to me based on my request? But apparently they can't do that. I have to come over and get it on CD for $4 or something. Find. I come back home, dig up the ancient external DVD drive and hook it to my laptop that didn't have a CD slot since 2012. The only file I discover on the CD is a *.BMP 600x600 pixels, which my online form obviously does not accept. I call back and hear from another associate that they are not allowed to email pictures - probably some corporate dimwit's eureka plan to make a few extra bucks on the CD. When they opened this Walgreens they must have taken the staff on a secret trip to the Central Disctrict Walgreens to see how it's run there and then told them to do the exact opposite(see my review of that location). Will never use this pharmacy again. Prescription was sent in by my doctor. When I arrived at the pharmacy I was told my prescription would take 20 min to fill, waited over an hour and was given only part of my prescription. Didn't realize this until I got home. When I called, they said the remaining prescription wasn't ready yet, and that I would have to come back in to pick it up. No communication about this whatsoever when I was there in person. Same thing happened to me last time I used them in June as well. And it's always been the most important medication that is missing such as antibiotics. Switching pharmacies. read more

Rescheduled twice for a Covid booster. Inconvenient, but I understand staff shortages. When I finally showed for my appointment, they had no record of it. The Pharmacy Manager was hostile, angry, and just plain mean. I waited an hour and a half to get the booster. While I waited I watched her be just as awful to other customers. The other staff members seemed good, but she needs some training. Customers aren't all your enemy. Go anywhere else but this pharmacy. I'll certainly never return. read more

Woah! Coming from a family of pharmacists and pharmacist-owned independent (apothecary style) pharmacies, I'm a total snob when it comes to shopping at big chains. But after a search for some very, very specific medication and many calls back to CA with my dad, I found exactly what I was looking for at of all places, a Walgreens! I visited 2 QFC pharmacies and a Rite Aid with no luck. In addition to bum luck, the customer service was super crummy. But as soon as I walked into this Walgreens I was asked if I needed help and found exactly what I was looking for. Score! I won't hesitate to come back here from now on. I still think I'll pay to have my prescriptions shipped from CA but I'll come here for any other OTR needs. read more

This Walgreens has frustrated me many times. I'm thankful to have one more central on Cap Hill (then the one up on John) and it has parking, but I hate that they frequently have issues. One time I went and they randomly didn't have power. Everybody around them had power. I'm still unclear on why they didn't. All I wanted to do was pick up a refill on a prescription that I've had forever but they couldn't give it to me (even if I paid in cash) because they had to scan stuff in. I was highly frustrated because they kept the rest of the store open to purchasing in cash. When I asked to talk to a manager about it because I needed my prescription, they were unwilling to help me out and slightly rude about it. They didn't even offer to call the other Walgreens to have it filled again (which tends to cause problems with my insurance but it would have been better than having to come back the next day). Turns out I had to wait until the next day when they had power to get it. Thank goodness I wasn't dying without it. Second, I forgot to get someone a gift for a holiday and decided to get them a picture in a frame. (They're old and would appreciate such a gift). So I go online to Walgreens photo print area (which is advertised as 1 hour wait) and print the picture with what I thought would be plenty of time to spare - they had about 4 hours before I actually needed the picture. I go to pick it up and turns out they have been having problems downloading the pictures and didn't find it necessary to call me and let me know my photo wouldn't be available. Now, maybe I just want too much out of customer service, but the fact they don't let customers know when their system is down (even a standard reply email) is quite frustrating. Overall, it's a Walgreens. The rest of their products are good and well-stocked. And they do have parkng. read more

I enjoy this Walgreens. It is a lot more "pedestrian friendly" you can walk right in off the street--its perfect because the bus stops right there...what more can a girl ask for? Although I do like to support my local Cap Hill business sometimes those places aren't open on the way home from or to work or I just don't feel like paying a lot of money for some toothpaste I ran out of. They also carry almost anything you will need if you don't want to make a big trip to Target or QFC. I have my prescriptions filled there and I often grab the Arizona Iced Tea for A DOLLAR and the granola bars A DOLLAR too!! Cheap and fun!! They have amazing clearance deals! Case in point: I got 56 oz. (Almost 2 quarts!) of Antibacterial Softsoap for $4! Their beauty section is affordable and with some good deals too, plus the rewards program is one of the best I know of! The staff is friendly as long as you're not causing trouble, and are totally willing to price check for you if you're nice about it. I was getting some toilet paper, and on the shelf it said $3.99 for 12 rolls. It rang up as $4.99, and the clerk had their sales insert ready to go to verify the price change. No problem getting the sale! The pharmacy doesn't have the best hours, but it is so convenient to pull into the Walgreens parking, walk right in and get helped immediately! Their staff definitely wants you to know exactly what you're getting and to come back with issues if your doctor is unavailable. I'm not a fan of any other Walgreens, this one is my favorite! read more

Made three calls (two of which either system or pharmacist hung up on me). Realizing it would take less time to go there than to wait on phone, went in person. I was told to come back in an hour. I asked if there were better times to come back, they looked helpless and just looked at each other. This review is specifically about Walgreens Photo department for this location (I've otherwise had a great experience with the store). I ordered 2 copies of a roll of photos about a month ago, and finally went in to see why I hadn't heard anything. The photos were printed fine, but there was only one set of copies. Their own photo record (provided with my prints) pictures the envelope with this information, so whoever processed them blatantly disregarded my request. On the same record, you can clearly see my phone number written out, but the person processing misspelled my area code (in my experience a 1 does not look like a 2) so if they ever did notify me, it was to a wrong number, and no one bothered to double check if it was the right number. The staff in-store didn't seem phased by these concerns, and did not take responsibility or apologize for the miscommunication. I might have left the store happier if the staff had shown any sign of remorse or empathy. While the quality of the photos is fine and I can get other copies printed if I wish, I will certainly be doing so elsewhere. The carelessness and apathy towards processing my photos is exactly the opposite of what I would expect from Walgreens. read more

I decided at 6:00 this morning I wanted to do a photo project with my scouts. Bartells is where I usually go for photos but to do online ordering, I would've had to order the pics at 5:00 PM last night to get them today. While loading up my thumb drive to take to Bartells and manually do the prints, I was watching TV and a commercial for Walgreen's photo came on. We have one of those here, I thought. Aha! I ordered my pics (95 of them!) online at 7:12 this morning and had them in my hand by 8:15. And I only paid .19 a print instead of the .29 I would've paid at Bartells. Understaffed, horrible service , especially if you ask where anything is. First I got my prescription, that guy was nice, but then I asked another man stocking a full shelf, where travel sized toothpaste was. Honestly, I asked an employee where the travel sized toothpaste was, and he acted like an asshole. I was in a hurry, but very calm, and needed to know where that toothpaste was without walking around aimlessly. The employee made me feel like I ruined his day, but he ruined mine. I complained to the cashier, who not only didn't care, but also made me feel like I was in the wrong. Since when, can you not ask where something is, in a store, without getting someone who is happy to help you. Anyways, it was a horrible experience, and if you go to this Walgreens; make sure you know where things are, because if you ask..... Be prepared to be treated like shit. I hate this place and will never go back. Lazy service today by the manager today. I brought in an order form to have VHS transferred to DVD. When the employee did the right thing, and asked for a manger to help, the manager sent me away. Although I understand that this is a rare service, the reason I was turned away was because the instructions say to put the tapes in an iCare bag, which they didn't have. I would have expected the manager to at LEAST call customer service to either order a bag, or do what I suspect they would tell him. Simply affix the federal express label to one of the stores boxes, and send it in with my printed order. I went a block up to Bartell Drugs who were ultimately able to provide the service. read more

This is THE worst Walgreens I've ever been to. And I've been to a LOT. The only reason I keep coming back here is because it's close to my house. But every time I go, they just manage to be terrible all over again. The main reason they suck so much is their staff. The staff is incompetent, lazy, and just plain rude. I've had several clerks not even look at me while checking me out let alone feign a smile. They will also not say anything either throughout the entire transaction, not even the price. One time, I was building some furniture from Ikea that I had purchased and needed a level. It was somewhat late and I didn't want to make the trek to Walgreens just to leave empty handed. I called and asked if they had one, and the guy just flat out said "No". He didn't even pretend to check. Just paused for a couple of seconds as if he was thinking of the easiest way to get rid of me. The next day, I popped in there to see for myself, and lo and behold, THEY HAD A LEVEL. I talked to the manager about my experience and he asked me who I talked to. I told him he never told me his name and the manager just shrugged his shoulders and said he couldn't do anything. You honestly wouldn't be able to tell me who was working the day before during the last shift??????? The experience I just had there today took the cake, though. I was buying scented candles for my place and saw that the Glade ones were on sale. They were 2 for $6, but after you bought them, you got $2 in "register rewards", the coupon things that print out of the register (you can use it like cash on your next purchase). I chose them over the cheaper Walgreens brand specifically for this reason. I get to the register and they're training a new girl. I have no problem with that, but the clerk who was training her DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO PROCESS A CHECK. She had to call another employee over and waste everyone's time. Next, I got up to the register and got checked out. I pay. She hands me a receipt and a coupon for wet wipes. I ask where my register rewards are. The girl says that that was it. I look and see her holding another coupon that printed out that has "$2" printed on it. I ask what that is then. She mumbled something about a manufacturers something and that it was nothing. I stare at her in disbelief and ice cold contempt. She honestly thinks she's going to swindle me out of it. I briefly argue with her and she gives it to me, pretending to have "realized" that that's what I was supposed to get. Despicable. On top of all these staffing problems, they never have the things I'm looking for. This is not a small store like some are that don't have certain products. But they consistently don't carry things that I am looking for. Avoid this place like the plague. Walk the extra block and go to QFC or Bartell's. I really hope corporate headquarters reads this. Every other Walgreens I've been to has been a pleasant experience. This one is hell on earth. read more

When this Walgreen's went in I though it was going to take leaps and bounds as far as the interior goes. I though it would have all electronic price tags, it would have convenient self check out, and it would have a stylish/trendy interior. But... all I found was the same Walgreen's that Ive been going to for 20 years (I'm only 24, so I might not quite remember all those years). So maybe that's a good thing. Maybe the familiarity is what keeps people coming back. Maybe its the thriving photo department in the era of digital cameras. Maybe its the check out stands that always seem to be malfunctioning in some way. No no I got it, maybe its the obsessive use of white and blue, and the 100 too many halogen lights that show off every detail of the sore and puffy red nose that is caused from too many Walgreen's brand tissues when I had a cold. Went to Walgreens to purchase batteries and my prescription. Employees were not helpful when I asked them where to find batteries. Redirected me to a place where the batteries were locked in a glass case. Pushed button for customer assistance, employees walked right by me without giving me assistance. Preceded to wait for 10 minutes with no help. Ridiculous! Plus, I had to pay full out for my prescription because they rejected my insurance card and after calling my insurance company it turns out the employee entered my insurance card number incorrectly. TERRIBLE COSTUMER SERVICE EVER!!!!! I moved recently from Issaquah to First Hill, so my nearest walgreens is in Capitol Hill. I have been there three times which two of them I have had a bad experience. The last one was TERRIBLE! I ask the clerk who was behind the counter if he could help me with some remote control batteries. The only reason I asked him for help is because those batteries were locked up in one of the counters. His answer to me was "I can't help you right now because I am anoyed". I couldn't believe what I was hearing. People like this "Temperamental" SHOULDN'T be working in costumer service.
