It's so nice to have a pharmacy/drug store convenient without driving in heavy traffic! That being said, I believe the pharmacy footprint should be expanded. People fall over each other back there, and this is the heart of the store - brings traffic to buy candy and the other, mainly Chinese, crap. If this were my business, and I had a career as a business management consultant where folks paid for my opinions, I'd do away with a few of the aisles in the center in such a way to expand personnel in comfortable square footage there. As it had been challenging to get prescriptions fast with a pleasant staff for long years, my prescriptions walked. I don't blame personnel for tending to be grouchy. I popped in yesterday afternoon to print off a few photos from my phone and the gentleman working there, pretty sure his name was Kyle, was probably the best customer service I've ever had. He was so personable and joyful, playful, rapid fire and offering help, running around the store being everything to everyone. When I was asked if I wanted to donate at the end of my check out I said absolutely yes and credited him for putting me in such a giving and joyful mood. He printed my photos within moments, helped troubleshoot when they wouldn't initially load with the cords, and he and set me off with a big smile on my face for the rest of the day. Poor customer service. I've been a customer of this location since moving here in 2003. It used to be that a friendly employee at the counter would greet you when you came in. I used to be that the folks at the pharmacy would also be helpful and friendly. It seems, those days are in the rear-view mirror. Recently I ordered a refill of a monthly prescription via the automated phone system. It said I could pick the item up on Thursday. I went in Friday and watched the lady in front of me go through a big hassle and leave without her script not knowing I was next. After waiting a very long time, I got to the counter and was ignored for 2-3 minutes. I gave the lady my info to pick up my script. After a few minutes of looking at a screen she got another lady who spoke in a gruff tone and had an accent that made her very difficult to understand. Long and short I was told that I had to come back in 3 days because I was too early. Today I returned and sat for 2-3 minutes in drive through. The lady behind the glass was inaudible and difficult to understand. I eventually left with my script but found myself wondering "WHO TRAINS THESE PEOPLE?" Nobody says "Good Morning" or "Have a nice day" or emits a smile or pleasantry whatsoever. About 10 minutes after I drove away, I receive a computerized call to tell me that prescription was ready. Then When I got to work, I received an email offering the same. I figure I'll transfer this prescription to an online company that ships to my house to avoid Walgreens at some point in the near future. read more

I will NEVER use this pharmacy again. I came from an eye surgeon appt and they asked me what pharmacy to call in my prescription to and since this Walgreens is close to where I live, I told them to send there. About an hour after I rec'd a text from Walgreens saying they needed my insurance information and to call the pharmacy. I proceeded to try and call a few times and held for a short time, then had to hang up due to work calls. Then around 3;00 I had a break and decided to try and call again. I was on hold for 1.5 hours and no one answered, finally hung up. I then drove there to find that the Pharmacist was sick and left early. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE! If no one is there then they need to have the phone system reflect this. By then it was too late to call my doctor for another pharmacy, so I then got the Walgreens in Fountain Hills to fill the script as I needed to start the medication right away. read more

Customer service at this location leaves much to be desired but that is probably expected when the manager himself is rude and lacks manners. They seem pretty well stocked except that one time they ran out of bagged ice. Some items do have periodic sales which help make them affordable. All in all, Walgreens is unapologetically overpriced. Check-out is usually a breeze though and the store is situated in a quiet shop area in a good neighborhood. I feel safe stopping here later in the evening/night. The previous reviews about the rude staff/pharmacist are spot on. That woman is an absolute disgrace to Walgreens and should not be in a public service position. She should be at home with her cats, or at the very least, if she's married, her very miserable husband. This store has the most incompetent pharmacy staff imaginable. Whenever it's time for our insurance to renew, prescriptions are "delayed due to an insurance issue," even though we have provided them with the new insurance cards. EVERY time a prescription is ordered, they delay it. They are too stupid to populate the insurance number to each of our prescriptions. I'm stuck with using Walgreens because of my insurance, but I'm not stuck using this one, so I'm DONE. Starting today, they're fired. Walgreens has a plethora of products--everything from beauty products to cleaning items, snacks to toys. I prefer Walgreens over CVS because the inventory is organized with some practicality in mind. The toys and knick-knacks have their own section instead of being randomly placed throughout the store. The beauty section is front-and-center--a blessing and a curse. Luckily, the snacks are on the far end of the store; I've already picked out my items by the time I reach the east end--when your cart is filled with $20 or $30 of merchandise, those Fudge Shoppe Deluxe cookies just don't seem as essential. Walgreens is my pharmacy of choice. The pharmacy staff are prompt, polite and professional. They always ask if you will be waiting in-store for your prescription. Have other shopping to do or time to kill? They will fill your 'scrips promptly. Every time I say I'll stick around, I've been politely paged when my prescriptions are filled. Excellent service. I also like how there's a "Walgreens brand" of most items. These products are just as good as their brand name counterparts. Plus, they're about a buck cheaper. Even though this store doesn't have a Take Care Clinic, it's still a Walgreens--it serves its function well. read more

In customer service, there's really no such thing as being "overstaffed". This Walgreens comes pretty close. I've never seen fewer than 5 employees at any given time in such a small place. It's awesome! This particular Walgreens employees a very friendly staff, as well. They are never too busy to help out in the event you need help. This whole store is completely lack luster with customer service. It seems that no one really even cares to help or answer any kind of questions and they all seem too busy for what you are asking as well. I remember I was waiting in a long line one day and 3 of the girls working there were just sitting there talking about how bored they were and how many cigarettes they smoke when they are bored on shift compared to how many they do when they aren't bored. Just completely unprofessional. It sucks because I work next door and all of the employees I work with go over to this walgreens if we need something and it is like we are forced to come here and it is just dreadful. This store has a good number of friendly employees. They seem to know where things are located when you ask. I tend to pay attention to pricing that is on the shelf so if something is on sale or on clearance, I make sure that that is how it rings up. Today when checking out at the front counter with Dee, I mentioned to her that an item I was buying was showing at a lower price than what I saw on the screen in front of me. She could not have swung her computer screen around fast enough to point out with a scowl on her face that it rang up with that price. I apologized and she never said another word to me, not even have a nice day. I would say that Dee does not belong at the checkout and would hope that management would see this as well. read more
