kiss my A** walgreens. i went to this place couple days ago with anger. first of all i'm sick. So i went into the local pharmacy in my area, which would be walgreens. got to the aisle where the medicines are located. i took the dayquil and couple other stuff. waited in line for the cashier to ring me up. Then i get a question, "how old are you kid?". i responded "why does it matter?". Lady said "i need to know your age so i can sell this drug to you?". i say "since when where there a requirement for buying medicine? This isn't like i'm buying crack or cocaine." Lady said "i need to know your age or not getting this item?" very rude! "i'm 18" i responded "let me see your california ID" "i don't have one" "i cant sell this to you without a id" "you will have to sell this to me or i can file a lawsuit against you stating that you refuse to sell medicine to a sick kid which cause him to get sicker and may perhaps be life threatening.": after the whole arguement she gave the the goddamn item. i'm not coming here ever again. and HELL since when was there a freaking law about seeing ID to buy regular cough medicine? read more

This walgreens is super small and there is no parking available ever. I sent my wife in to look for what we wanted. I joined her 15 minutes later by stalking people who came out of walgreens hoping they parked in the little parking lot next to the store. I finally got a spot and went in. The store itself has very narrow isles. They were out of almost all the cold water bottles. Which IMO is inexcusable for a store. They could have easily cracked open one of the many crates of water they had and put some in the fridge sections. poor management on their part. Still my wife and I got what we needed and were out of there fairly quickly. I think in the future though i will go to the walgreens on stanyan rather than this location. read more

Small Walgreens. Ok for your essentials. Space is cramped and things are hard to find. I do give them credit for having a small parking lot in such a hot ticket area for trying to find parking. Meters eat up quarters, so if you're shopping here, try to find a space in their lot. Today I had a hard time finding birthday candles. The lady who helped me first told me what aisle to find them in. When I couldn't find them she walked me to the area. We both had to search around for a while because apparently the candles had moved, and were hidden behind a random ladder in the aisle. Overall experience was OK. Lines can get long. If the person at the cosmetic area is working you can ring up your items there in a shorter line. read more

Both this Walgreens and the one on Clement Street are the same: overcrowded almost all the time with people just hanging out because they have nothing else to do with their time. Whole families will be in there (like fairly large families) treating the place like a museum, crowding the already narrow aisles so you can't get to what you want (they won't move and seem brain dead to the idea someone else may be trying to actually buy what they are blocking). I go in here ONLY if I cannot get to a nicer one elsewhere. I have yet to find any staff, other than the people at the check out (and they've always done their jobs sufficiently so I have no complaint). I think this Walgreens is one of the older ones, looks it at least, and probably desperately need to be remodeled so traffic flows better. If it weren't so far away, I'd go to the one on Mission at Steuart, that's a nice one and is NEVER crowded. I tried once to get a flu shot at this Irving store but the wait line m o v e d s o s l o w l y and I don't have a whole lot of extra time to kill so I just said screw it. I do avoid this place if I can possibly get to another one. However the Walgreens closest to home has very little other than prescriptions. Walgreens really needs to upgrade this Irving store. read more

I usually love spending my free time strolling through the aisles of Walgreens looking for useless items to purchase. However, at this location (though oftentimes convenient), the aisles are too narrow to saunter through! And there are way too many people here all the time making it even harder to saunter!! My first problem with this Walgreens is that the magazines are displayed right next to the door, which makes it difficult to read them. Also, the doorway is rather narrow, leading to occasional collisions. Secondly, I recently walked by here and saw a sign: "We can print your prescription in English!" This is one of the smaller ones I've been to. The only other one that is tiny like this location is the one on Taraval. This location is ok because it has almost everything, but it's cramped and that's the only part I don't like. Other than that it meets my needs for when I want something. Although, there is a private lot, there's rarely a parking spot. read more

wow i didn't think people actually wrote reviews on walgreens. do people really read this stuff? well at any rate, it's almost 4am in the morning and i was just admiring my new curling iron (purchased at walgreens of course) and it reminded me of how pleasant the employees at this particular walgreens happen to be. everytime i find myself in this store i leave thinking, "wow, what friendly service." really! everytime. the aisles are super super cramped so if you find yourself in one and you're not the only one, you can count on some body contact. i get "Excuse me" , with a smile, in the upmost respectful manner EVEYTIME. can you imagine what it must be like having to deal with that EV-ERY day at your job for HOURS on end??? I really love the variety at this store and how I can just drop in for makeup, snacks, and drinks. Everything is pretty convenient and the prices are reasonable. I really liked the cashier who rang me up two days ago (I think her name is Karry. She's a Chinese lady who ties her hair into a pony tail. Please correct me if I'm wrong.) I can't believe how rude one of the workers were. My friend asked for some assistance to find a product and she just tells him "hold on. I'm helping another customer". She then storms off to the backroom. There were no customers around... Wonder who she was helping. We waited and she never returned. I like going to this Walgreens. I don't go for the service, and I don't go for the products. I go when I need to rumble. I usually push my way through the double doors, right at closing time. Running, I make my way to the butter, and grease up. Then, it is on. The cashiers rush me, trying their best to grapple my greasy skin. I evade their fumbling hands, and land a few punches. By this time there is usually three to four cashiers trying their best to bring me to the ground. This is the point when another cashier comes in with a cattle prod, which finally subdues me. They open those glorious double doors and toss me onto the cold pavement. I lay there, feeling exhausted and accomplished. I walk home, drenched in butter and victory. "This is the life", I think to myself. Food was good. read more

I have been a customer there for well over 20 plus years. Especially with the pharmacy department. Couple of its staff who've been working there for a long time are really nice and friendly. They greet customers by their names. Today was whole new experience to me in a very irritating way. My doctor sent them an electronic prescription yesterday. I purposely waited for a day to pick it up. So I don't have to wait for a long time in the store. After waited for awhile, I finally got to the counter and was told told to wait for 5 minutes. I told that staff that my prescription was sent in yesterday. She again told me to wait for 5 minutes and she will call me when it's ready. I waited. After my few minutes wait, I approached her and asked how much longer I have to wait. Then she told me they don't have the medicine in stock. I was irritated and questioned her why she made me wait if they don't have it in stock, and why no one contacted me about it. Then a Chinese pharmacist jumped in and said she doesn't work at the pharmacy. Not once apologize for their mistake. What kind of customer service is that? How is it ok for any staff who stand behind that counter, representing Walgreen, to misinform customers and justifying it by saying she doesn't work in the pharmacy. The manager at this location, Quin Trinh, runs a poor staff with a completely disrespectful attitude. They are completely disrespectful to those who are disabled. My girlfriend is legally blind and was treated with disrespect by the cashier. Because of her vision she tried to provide the correct change which was more than the amount due - the cashier then tossed the coins back on the counter and pointed at the register for the right amount. My girlfriend then apologizes and says that she has vision problems with obvious signs of cataract build up in her left eye which is no longer functional. The cashier, in turn, just sighs and continues to give her an attitude. Rather than handing the receipt to her, the cashier leaves it on her side of the counter - the vision loss has caused her depth perception to be really poor. With a line of people behind her, she decides to leave the receipt. I've contacted the complaint department for Walgreens which had her leave me voicemails with a tone that sounded like did not care. She even had the nerve to ask for more details into the problem when I've written a lengthy description of the situation - clearly she didn't bother to read beyond the subject line. Stay away from this particular Walgreens as this "manager" leaves their employees unchecked. Now I'm not complaining that my girlfriend should have received some sort of special treatment, but rather that customers are treated with some common decency and respect. And by the ratings of this Walgreens, your money should be better spent at establishments that treat their customers right. read more

This is a review of the pharmacy. It's a great choice if you have time to waste. The manager apparently doesn't respond to excessive waiting-in-line times by staffing both of the registers at the pharmacy wicket, and the pharmacy is sometimes closed within the published (front door of the store, Walgreen's own website, emails and robocalls, Yelp, etc.) hours of service, as I discovered today. read more

I don't know why so many people are moaning and groaning about this Walgreen's! People work hard, just like in any other business, the pharmacy staff is always friendly, accomodating and professional. I just needed to speak to someone about a credit card charge that I didn't remember making; the manager looked online at a whole day's transactions just to locate mine and verify what it was for. He was very friendly and helpful! The "unfriendly" clerk in the front isn't so bad, it's kind of her style, and she's pretty efficient. The only reason I didn't give the location 5 stars is that the aisles really are narrow, and if someone is browsing, it's hard to get past them. Also, sometimes the line at the counter is pretty long. But overall, I've found both the pharmacy and regular staff to be helpful and customer friendly. Some folks need to take a chill pill. read more

i am obsessed with walgreens, and sadly this walgreens isnt the best on in san francisco.but it gets the job done. im there everyday atleast once it seems, and usually there is a line, they just seem to not have that many cashiers. the soda selection is bad usually, and the popcorn selection too. but overall it is okay. read more

it IS a small walgreens so i don't expect a lot of variety. school supplies are okay there but just go to target for 1 dollars notebooks ,filler paper, folders and pencils. walgreen sometimes over charge in the school supplies section. the hallmark cards are expensive, like 4 dollars for fancy ones but i really don't think they should charge that much on a piece of paper that someone is just going to throw it away after reading it very narrow, even if there is only one person in your way , you would still have to say "excuse me". ahhh they charge a 1.19 for one ringpop!! ringpops are such a small pieces of candy... i wish they would sell refills for certain ink pens because i feel it is a waste of materials when someone throws away the whole pen. they sell printer ink refills so they should refill pens too:D imagine how green that would be. yeah yeah, call me a tree hugger but you won't be laughing anymore when our world runs out of supplies. but i love their sodas. 79 cents for walgreens soda 20oz mmhhhmm:) btw there is a cute asian guy that works there:O read more

The pharmacy staff is excellent. They are knowledgeable, kind and responsive. I have found the other staff to be helpful too.
