I really want to like this Walgreen bc it's location but oh man.. their drive thru pharmacy is sooooooooo slow. Expect a 30-40 min wait in the car if you choose to pick up your medication via drive thru. It's MUCH (can't stress this enough) MUCH faster to park your car and go into the store. More than 1 hour for Hep B vaccination. My insurance does cover, but staff was unable to authorize.

They open 24/7 which makes people's life a lot easier. We recently moved to the area. And my dog scratched her paws and we found out at night. We had no first aid except alcohol. So we came here to get Neosporin and iodine. This store is pretty big, has a big parking lot and had everything we needed. We also found the felt pads for our new couch. Although were also looking for 3M stickers and didn't see it. There were not much service persons around at night but it's night time so understandable. Things are well organized here so we found most items ourselves. Overall it's nice to have a 24/7 pharmacy open in the neighborhood. read more

Photos printed at Walgreens have the worst quality I've ever seen. The first time it came out fuzzy on the edge, so I thought it might have been the loss of resolution somehow in the process, and made sure to upload the high resolution version with 300 dpi, and double-checked when uploaded. Came out not much better either. You can see with naked eye that the color slightly bleeds, causing the image to lose sharpness. Very disappointed and such a waste of time. read more

Two or three years ago the pharmacy staff was at a level that I thought couldn't get any worse. I was wrong! It is clear that this store is on a slow-track to being closed. I fully understand it is hard to get good employees - but this store exhibits new levels of poor management. Don't bother calling the district manager - she is part of the problem. I just moved all my prescriptions. I will say though that their photo team does a great job with the quality of their prints - just don't expect that their on-line system will give you accurate information or that anyone in the store will actually staff the desk. read more

The pharmacy failed to run my new prescription through my insurance, which they've had for years and had used 2 months previously. They wanted to charge me $197 dollars. I'd previously called my insurance company as I'd never paid more than $10 for a medication with that great insurance and found out that they'd never run the prescription through them. It took over 40 minutes, mostly on hold to finally be told that they ran it through (just now as I'd complained) and the cost would be $5. THey are seriously understaffed and obviously not all employees are competent. read more

Folks at Walgreen seem like genuinely nice and caring folks, but the waits both inside at the pharmacy and especially at the drive-through window where I spent about 40 minutes waiting behind four cars to make it to the window is just unacceptable. If things aren't ready, have cars go around or something rather than hold up Everyone. In today's modern age it is obvious something is broken as this is a solvable challenge. It's time to change pharmacies. They have acknowledged (online and via email) and then lost: a new prescription, multiple refill requests, and multiple same-day prescription delivery orders. Phone attempts to reach the pharmacy or the "store manager" nearly always fail, day or night - repeatedly going into 45 minutes of music on hold followed by the call being disconnected. It's time to call in regulators, congressperson, an attorney, and maybe CNN. read more

This is the absolutely worst pharmacy ever. I made an appointment online to get my covid booster and flu shot. I showed up a few minutes before my appointment only to have a 1 hour wait to check in!!! that's right 1 hour in line. Then, once I checked in, I realized that there was a long wait in front of me to actually get a shot. I waited another half hour before realizing there were still quite a few people in front of me a n I had to get back to work. So, I told the lady administering shots that I couldn't wait any longer and she took my paperwork. The worst part about it was that they then billed my insurance for immunizations they never gave me. When I went to CVS in Foster City the following week, my insurance rejected the immunizations because Walgreens charged them for immunizations they never delivered. I've spent over 2 hours now on the phone with my insurance while they try to talk to someone at Walgreens to reverse these charges. So far, the Walgreens has robbed me of nearly 4 hours of my life plus travel time and making it so I can't actually get a flu vaccine because of their fraudulent claim. Even though this is right next to Trader Joes and appears to be a convenient location, I will never set foot here again and I would caution anyone else to stay far away from Walgreens. read more

This is for the pharmacy: 3 registers, a drive thru, a drop off window and a consultation window. What a joke! Only 2 registers open 90% of the time and 1 is for drive thru. The wait is ridiculous just to drop off a prescription. Heaven forbid my car get towed while I'm waiting. Yep, 30 minute parking. "I SEE 3" code for your pharmacy! I give 1 star to the blond cashier in the front that told me to "Be Well!" after I bought a pack of cigarettes for the hundredth time from her and got carded. I'm 35 for the love of Pete and I work nextdoor to you. We've interacted daily for the last decade. Get a clue! You know my DL# by heart probably. Tita is the sweetest cashier ever. I happened upon this Walgreens randomly last year, and when I saw the massive beauty section, I was amazed. Unlike other Walgreens, this particular location has a second beauty section that houses some pretty amazing brands like ColorPop and The Balm. There's also a fragrance section that features the Demeter Fragrance Library. Demeter offers dozens of scents, and makes every day scents into actual wearable scents. For instance, they have a Play-doh scent. I KNOW! I would have NEVER known about Demeter Fragrance, but thanks to this Walgreens--I do. I got married four years ago and changed my name a year later. Unfortunately, I never changed my name on my passport, and I decided to finally make the change. Walgreens was offering $2 off of passport photos, so I stopped in to take my photo. I wish I could say the final result was breathtaking, but it wasn't. I looked like a convict. Alvin, the guy who took my picture, was very nice though. He took four pictures, and he helped me choose the least ugly one. The pictures are taken with a digital camera in front a screen under awful fluorescent lighting. Alvin then printed and cut the pictures into 2x2 passport specifications. I've had nothing but good experiences at this Walgreens, so for now, four stars! read more

Had 2 pm vaccine appointments. As it turns out, the appointments meant nothing, as everyone waited in single line, along with walk-ins. After 40 minutes, the line had moved by a grand total of two people, and there were still about 7-8 people ahead. if it's all "walk-in", then say so. We'll plan accordingly. read more

I'm really surprised this Walgreen's has so few stars. Here are a few things that I was very impressed with on my first trip to this Walgreen's: - the girl at the pharmacy was more helpful (and nice!) than anyone else I have ever spoken to at a Walgreen's pharmacy. Since I have not been issued a new insurance card yet, she tried to call the insurance company for me to get them to authorize my prescription... - clean store - great selection of products from food items to cosmetics and more - they have a drive-through pharmacy which is always super convenient! read more

This Walgreens Pharmacy is the worst!!! The Manager does not care at all. She is very rude. They don't have any kind of system to help customers in a timely manner. Even they see a long line, they just chit chatting at the back. I like to warn people. Make sure you count the meds they gave you. One time, it says in the bottle 90 pcs but when I counted it its only 45 pcs. I called and informed the manager. She knew the number of meds were not right. Since Walgreens in Belmont is temporarily closed due to this current lockdown, I called the Walgreens in San Carlos and they filled my prescription without any questions. Another plus is that they have a drive-thru for minimum human contact. The service was fast and efficient. They also seem to have a better variety of products. I definitely recommend this location! read more

I'm not sure why this place is always grossly understaffed. Typical wait times for basic prescription pickup can be as long as 75 min. I am writing this in line for the drive through where I am 5 cars deep. The line hasn't moved for 20 min. The last time I was here, they closed off the drive through so everyone needed to go inside for pickup. A disabled woman who expected to have the drive through had to walk inside. This proved to be of significant hardship. The employees are so overworked, they rush through everything and have very short patience (I can't blame them). If anyone from corporate is reading this, please know that your service is resembling that of the DMV. read more

WOW... a very poorly run Walgreens on the El Camino.!!!! I waited in the drive thru line for 25 minutes with just 5 cars in front of me. It seems that people were having trouble with their prescription orders. When we finally got to the window I gave the pharmacist my girlfriend's credit card to show the name on our order. 1 small bottle of Eye drops. After 10 minutes the customer service rep comes to the window with 4 bags of prescription drugs. I then ask him what are all these bags.?? Is our order ready? The customer service rep says there are 4 items.. I tell him we have only 1 item and then he asks what is the name on the order. I say read the credit card..!! We get the 1 bottle of eye drops and drive away. They charged my girlfriend $70. for a $30. bottle of eye drops.!!! The customer service reps in this pharmacy are clueless..!! I want to complain about your San Carlos, Ca store. I have been going there for (3) years. EVERYTIME I go there, prices are wrong. The prices are marked one price on shelf and rings up another price at register. Last night was the final straw. Once again the price was marked wrong and the cashier was a maroon about it. I left the store with nothing in hand and went to Safeway to get my stuff. I'm sure this store will go under in no time. Prices are wrong and customer service non existent. Rule number one in customer service: the customer is always right. Rule number two in customer service: if the price is mismarked, blah, blah, blah...honor the lowest marked price. Walgreens pharmacy needs to be honest with their patients. When I called to check the status of my medications I spoke with a tech who said "all 4 Prescriptions are ready for pick up". The next day I wait in line for 22 minutes to pick up my meds which are "ready for pick up". However, to my surprise they were not ready. Oops, once again mis information. This isn't the first time. I'm back in line waiting again. But the certified pharm tech was helpful and doing his best to fill my order for which I'm am grateful for his good customer service. Would give zero stars if I could . I made an appointment for a covid booster . There is a sign which says "covid check in here" with an arrow that points towards a closed/ locked door . After waiting 15 min by the sign I interrupted someone picking up their prescription to ask how to check in for vaccine. The pharmacy staff said "just one line" . There were already 7 people in the line and in the one I was there it took them well over 20 min to take care of 1 person . Although there are 3 registers only 1 is manned. There appear to be 5-6 staff but all huffing and puffing in the back no one actually taking care of the line. Rotten customer service . Had an extremely rude staff member tonight in the pharmacy who was cutting customers off as they spoke and yelling prescriptions out for everyone to hear. With 7 cars lined up behind me and no cashier at the drive through AND waiting for over 40 minutes, there's no end in sight. I can see the line inside moving swiftly at this point. I have been so frustrated and disappointed with this Walgreens location in the past month, specifically the pharmacy services. It has been IMPOSSIBLE to get anyone on the phone the last week. And the lines - both inside and drive through- can take up to an hour. I was previously fairly happy with this Walgreens pharmacy and it is the most conveniently located to where I live. I confirm the previous review, the pharmacy is the slowest ever even when there are few to no customers in line. How is it possible to be so slow?? It it takes 20 minutes to service a single customer, something is operationally wrong... 5 people at this location just move around with no visible progress. Worst pharmacy ever! Avoid going here. My 3 year old daughter needed antibiotics for her ear infection. She's in pain and crying. I went to Walgreens to pick up her antibiotics and was told it would take 1 hour and this was at 2:00pm So I wait an hour call again and they keep telling me that it will be longer.I called them every hour only to be told that it would be another hour. And this continued until 6:30pm when I decided to go there in person and was told that they are out of stock and have been for many hours. Seriously? I feel so bad for my 3 year old that's been in pain all day. They gave me a list of other Walgreen locations to call and see if they still have that medication. Never coming back. read more

The worst place to get your medication. Pharmacy in complete chaos. Number of staff in the back just milling around. Rude attitude toward customers. Do not get stuck in drive through. You may be there for hours and yet when you finally reach the window your prescription may not be ready even if you got the automated call advising you that your prescription is ready for pick up. If you are lucky enough to get your medication count the pills. Usually it is short. Horrible horrible experience. read more
