Is my first writing a review to Walgreens at elcamino San Carlos. I had an appointment to the pharmacy for my vaccine I waited for thirty minutes when I got to the front she didn't accept me cause I have no appt and my appt is in Belmont. I drove all the way to Belmont and the when I got there the pharmacy told me my appt for vaccine is in San catlos the address of my appt on my confirmation is in San Carlos. I was given round around and waisted my gas. I talked to the pharmacy manager and I showed and my confirmation and complained to her that I was here early for my vaccine again she didn't see the confirmation on her end. She told me I CLD have my vaccine shot but I need to wait longer cause there's customer ahead of me. Of course they are ahead me now cause my appt is 3:30pm. Everytime I come to Walgreens the staff in here is not helpful. I rather transfer all my medications to CVS. read more

This Walgreens is horrible- The phamarmacy technician "Felix" was condescending and rude. My pass wasn't working and my meds were already payed for and kept insisting on double charging me. He was extremely mean and lacking customer service. I work in health care, I know how hard things are right now but it is no excuse to treat patients this way. Employees at this Walgreens location are running a scam with cash coupons. First they try to hold on to your coupons (especially if it is cash rewards) telling you how you don't want it because it expires in 7 days, but if you insist on taking it and happen to return within the time, they take your coupon "to clip to your account" forcing you to another qualified full purchase and leaving you without a coupon or discount at the end with some BS that you will need to return again to make another purchase and then the discount will appear on your account. Ok, $6 is not a lot of money, but combined this scam makes some tip to their wages. The worst part is when they give you this BS to your face and when you ask to look at a coupon that you just have them to see where is says that you need to return to the store 3 times to redeem it and that the "cash reward " written on the coupon is not really a cash coupon, it is suddenly already in the register and cannot be shown to you to look at, and at the same time the manager is also unavailable to speak to you, and the employee who just scammed you also urgently needs to go on her break. I have never seen such a horrible customer service In San Carlos before. Well, I will definitely remember to go to CVS moving forward. read more

The worst service. They do NOT know how to process insurance claims then don't even have the courtesy to call. When I tried calling over an hour hold time too be hung up on. Then went twice wait time close to an hour. I understand being short staffed but this is ridiculous. Having people wait just to pick up needed medication. If I could give negative stars I would. This walgreens has such poor customer service. Went to buy allergy medicine and had to push the button for customer service so that someone could unlock the case. The announcement went off several times and no one came. Asked pharmacy tech if they had the key to open case and was told to press the button for customer service (which we already did). Pharmacy made a call overhead and we pressed button once more. The automated announcement started going off for customer service once again before being cut off mid announcement. Waited another 5 mins and no one came. We decided to just check out other items and forget about the medicine. Informed cashier that no one attended us, and he just smiled and shook his head. I asked if they were short staffed and he said no. That was it. No apologies were made, or call to send someone over. The store wasn't even busy. What in the world? CVS is right down the street in RWC at sequoia station, so drove over and got my medicine. read more

Just waited over an hour in the pharmacy line, only to have them open up the drive through window and help those people immediately. Absolutely inexcusable. Staff at the pharmacy couldn't care less. Absolutely horrible, came here because they were the only pharmacy that had Sudafed in stock, I'd rather have a sinus infection than ever come back here again. read more

I've been trying to post this review for 4 days, but like so many other things that are wrong with Walgreens San Carlos and Corporate, the site dumps me out when I try entering the REQUIRED store number, making me start all over again. This Walgreens store only gets 1 star. Nico deserves 5 stars! #1 if you have to shop at a Walgreens, the Belmont store on Ralston and the Menlo Park store on Santa Cruz Ave have very nice pharmacy and store staff that are actually helpful. Go there whenever you can instead of San Carlos. #2 Nico, the San Carlos pharmacy manager is the only person in the store who is helpful and actually knows what he's doing. Now, that I've posted this, they'll probably transfer him somewhere horrible. Kick #1 Keep in mind the San Carlos Walgreens Pharmacy is on PROBATION until June 2020 - as far as I'm concerned it should be the entire store, and I wonder if Walgreens could be the 4th circle of Hell. Kick #2 Now for the story. In July, my Mom changed banks. She's old-school and still writes checks. After opening the new account, we went to Walgreens to pick up some OTC meds, wrote a check as usual, and were shocked when the Pharmacy clerk told us she got an error message and couldn't process the check. Kick #3 I went to the front register to speak to the Store Manager, Dennis. After waiting in a long line, I explained what happened and he said in a loud voice, "Well, it's probably due to Fraud or Insufficient Funds". Believe me, there were sufficient funds in the account to cover a $35 check several times over. I told him we'd been writing checks at Walgreens for years, and what could be done to fix the problem. Dennis said "Call your bank, it's their problem". This guy is an arrogant jerk with an attitude who has no right dealing with the public without SERIOUS retraining. Walgreens will probably promote him to District Manager. Thank God, I knew better since they run the checks through TeleCheck like some grocery stores do. I went to Belmont Walgreens to see if the problem was the same. It was, but as I was leaving (I'd gotten to the front register), the Pharmacist paged me and gave me a "receipt" that printed out of the TeleCheck machine after the transaction was voided that had a Denial Record Number. Anyway, after numerous calls to TeleCheck and waiting a week after each call for their system to "refresh", I finally got hold of a Supervisor who was able to link the history of the old checking account to the new account. Kick #4 With TeleCheck it's a Catch-22; you have to be in their system to have your check accepted, but you can't get your check accepted to get in their system. Kick #5 It's taken 6+ weeks and over 8 calls to TeleCheck, but we're finally in their system linked to the old account history. It shouldn't be this difficult! Anyway, back to Nico. There was a new guy at the Pharmacy counter, when I got there at 5:30 pm and I was going to pay with 2 checks, the one we've been trying to get processed and a new check for the balance. The new guy was unsure how to proceed, so Nico stepped in. The 1st check went through and Nico left. Had a problem with the 2nd check, had to call TeleCheck again, then wait back through the Pharmacy line. By the time I got to the front of the line at 6:10 pm, the new guy was working the Drive Up Window. I told them I'd wait. Nico came back the Pharmacy and ran the check through so I wouldn't have to go through the whole story again. Came to find out, Nico was on his way home, but came back so he could resolve the issue. Walgreens needs to hire more people like Nico - who try to be helpful, listen, and resolve issues. read more

This is THE WORST Walgreens I've ever been. People are incompetent, rude, and disorganized. There are two lanes for pharmacy pickup but one is never in operation. A quick prescription pickup takes over an hour with only three cars in front of me. During the time of COVID, I called for curbside pickup and the lady over the phone just ask me to wait at the curbside pickup parking stalls. I sat there for over 20 minutes and NOBODY shows up. I start seeing people in similar spots for curbside pickup come down the car and walk into the store. I realize that no one will ever come. There's no curbside pickup here even it's advertised there is. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT THE PHARMACY! I've now been hung up on twice after waiting over 1.5 hours trying to have a prescription refilled. Both times someone picked up and put me back on hold, then the phone rang until it automatically hung up. I am now waiting on hold for a third time trying to speak with the store manager. I've been put on hold twice trying to get through to the manager. Wait times in line are NEVER less than 45 mins whether you are standing in line in person or waiting in your car. read more

Like other former Belmont Walgreens pharmacy customers, I've had to wait in line for at least 30-45 minutes, three times in the last month or so. I spoke to the pharmacy manager and vented my frustration about the slow service. I inquired whether Walgreens Corporate increased the San Carlos staffing to accommodate the increased demand from the Belmont store closure. Manager responded yes. However, manager explained he/she would like to add more staff but cannot due to the Covid social distancing requirements between the employees in the pharmacy area. In short, don't expect the duration of your wait to improve until the pandemic is over. read more

Rarely use this Walgreens pharmacy but the prescription was urgenltly needed. I was the 5th person in line but it took nearly 30 minutes to get to the counter. The "Pick Up" window was not staffed and the only employee there waiting on those of us in line spent quite a bit of time looking for prescriptions or dealing with each customer. Very very slow service and the main reason I switched - long ago - to NowRx. They deliver when they say they will consistently. Walgreens has made a fortune during the pandemic but cannot afford to hire more help??? read more

This review is for the pharmacy specifically. I have never experienced any issues at any other Walgreens pharmacy but this one seems to just not know how to function. There is very poor communication and often times the pharmacists can be rude! I've spoken to at least 4 different pharmacists and staff this week. Do not go here for a covid-19 vaccine or covid-19 test. Expect extremely long delays if you do. My daughter had a 3pm appointment for a PCR test. She arrived 10 minutes early. She was in line for 2 hrs and 15 minutes before her test was taken. read more

Sorry Walgreens, but I can only give you a 2-star. We've had some good times, but I've moved on to CVS. This Walgreens isn't bad. It's large and well stocked. They also have a big section with holiday or seasonal items that are fun to look at. The workers are pretty helpful when you need something. The pharmacy is hit or miss. They do have a pharmacy drive through which is nice. But honestly, your best bet is going inside to take care of your pharmacy business. The drive through can get crowded and you find yourself waiting in an idling car for a loooonnnngggg time. Not fun. The poor pharmacy staff seems stressed out and overworked, so I try to cut them some slack regarding the wait times. Ever since Trader Joes went in next door, the parking lot can get crazy. After work trying to get into Walgreens is like an obstacle course with cars and pedestrians everywhere. I wasn't into that madness so I switched to another drugstore. read more

Took my daughter to get her Covid vaccine tonight. Met up with the most officious person administering the the vaccine-she couldn't have been more rude during each step of the process. Made what should have been a momentous occasion for our teenager after this last year to a truly uncomfortable situation. To boot, went to go buy something afterwards only to be completely rung up wrong with double the charges-not even an apology. Will reschedule the second vaccine to another provider. read more

An rx was sent early in the morning and I had called them to ask for them to rush it since I had a flight to catch and they were so helpful and even found a coupon that saved me almost $100. F*CKING TERRIBLE pharmacy. Waited 30 mins AS THE FIRST PERSON IN LINE to drop off my Rx. All 3 people BEHIND me were serviced first, since they were there for pick up. I was only helped when I literally stepped up to the window and "cut off" the four person behind me she was going to help. I finally dropped off my Rx- I've already been waiting for an additional hour and nothing has been filled yet! This poor woman behind the counter is completely frazzled and inundated with people in line, in the drive through, and the phone. She even said to another customer "I wish I had at least one more Pharmacist helping me so that I can get my job done, but I'm doing the job of three." WALGREENS, GET YOUR SH*T TOGETHER and hire enough Pharmacists- both for the sake of your reputation and your customers! read more

We go only because it is close. Painful to go inside or deal with anyone at the pharmacy except for the head pharmacist. This is why everybody use Amazon Prime or related services. Blaring music, confusing labeling with cough remedies etc (all their private label stuff), staff quality varies highly (their Have been bright spots), and the confusing rewards program. I thought this place was better 4 years ago, but not sure. It certainly ranks up with the most unpleasant shopping I have to do. I went in to exchange a knee brace that I bought due to a recent injury (it was the wrong type of knee brace apparently). I politely wait in line at one of the check-out lines. When my turn comes, the lady asks me to leave because supposedly that's the line for cosmetics only (again, I'm trying to exchange a knee brace and I'm obviously injured. Nobody is in line behind me, she's just being cruel). Fine. I walk over to the "regular" check-out. As soon as I get there, two of the checkout attendants leave because there are only two people in line. The customer in front of me starts sneezing all over the place and touches everything on 3 different counters. So now they have to sanitize the entire place. When I finally get helped, the cashier lady refuses to exchange my items because I bought them at a different Walgreens store. So I stood in line for 30 minutes to exchange a knee brace, with an obvious injury (and a very evident disability) and I have to leave with the wrong item. I get it. We are in the middle of a pandemic. But that's no excuse for being cruel to the disabled. Get it together, Walgreens. read more
