Thieves work here & people who don't want to help!! Came to get gas, gave the girl $40. It only pumped to $15!! I went in & said where is the rest of my $$$ She said that's all you gave me. Oh hell NO! I gave her 2 $20 dollar bills!! Finally after needing to yell at the other worker there for them to understand they finally fixed it. I will be calling corporate to complain. Not right. I haven't been to an AM PM in a long time. But I do remember back in my childhood we used to always stop by an AM PM that was near the old Price Club in Redwood City. And we'd always get their cheeseburgers because they were so cheap. They weren't the best cheeseburgers back then, but I do remember really enjoying them. So when I saw that there was one near my new workplace, curiosity definitely got the best of me to see if their burgers were still any good, so I stopped by after I got off work. I decided on grabbing one double cheeseburger and one hamburger. Honestly, I thought their burgers were still pretty good, but it was probably me just feeling nostalgic. The burgers were dry but the buns were soft and fluffy, and in all fairness, they haven't really changed at all since the last time I've had them, which was actually a good thing for me. PRO TIP:GAS STATION ACROSS STREET COSTS SAME AMOUNT AND LESS OF A HEADACHE. I went here at midnight when I got off work last night. The gas valve didn't automatically shut off when it reached my tanks limit (11 gallons) causing gas to overflow out of my tank onto the side of my car and onto the ground and on my clothing. I went and alerted the less than helpful employee Abdul because the machine 1) stole from me because it took 12.89 gallons out instead of 11 (1.89 on the ground). 2) they should put an out of order sign up. He was confused and slow in helping me but put a buffer on the gasoline to stabilize it and then gave me the number for the owner cause he said he couldn't authorize me the refund for the difference. He didn't put the out of order sign up either. Well, I called Karen the owner and she was so rude. She told me she needed to investigate. Fine. She calls me back 8 hours later saying it was my fault and that I tried to pump more gas. WHAT?! Why would I try to overflow my gas tank?! Are you kidding?! She just wanted to steal my money. Which is whatever it's $10-$12...but it's about the principle of gas being all over me, my car, and the ground. Them stealing. They don't put a sign to alert others because they don't care about other people's safety or taking other people's money. I will never go back and I am considering small claims court after calling corporate due to the negligence and poor handling of the situation. read more

AM PM doesn't have cheap gas but there's cheap food: corn dog. , burgers, bbq rib things, fish, sammies, etc. .. eats: BBQ Ribs sammie (1.79) -mushy pork pattie with zillions of chemical/food compounds added. -secret sauce makes sammie a saliva propeled vehicle suiting for barfing. Their Chase ATM was broken (it wouldn't let you select the yes/no options) and it was right next to the restrooms too. If you use a debit card to pay, there is a $0.35 surcharge which I believe is illegal. read more

OMG, after seeing a price of $4.95 a gallon in another location not far from here on Harbor Blvd., $4.27 at this place was a welcomed relief. My go-to gas station was closed (oops!) and I had to move on down the road looking for fuel. I happened to remember this Arco was just off of 101 and pulled in to find some cheap gas. Fast, easy and on my way - totally did the trick! Don't like that they charge 35 cents for using an ATM card and they don't take Amex, but they were there for me when I needed them. read more

"Good gas for less" and "Quality gas for less" slogans are emblazoned everywhere out at the pumps. And isn't that what filling up is really all about? I've always been suspicious of the claims of the more expensive branded gas station that their additives are really worth paying a significant amount more for their gasoline. All I really want is a good deal on good quality gas, especially when I'm filling up my mother's van as I was doing this day. Even at Arco's low prices it costs about $80 to fill the tank. Well, actually, I also want adequate lighting out at the pump, since I'm a female that travels alone quite often by car and wishes to feel safe doing so. I also want clean restrooms and a well-stocked convenience store. You'll be happy to hear that this particular Arco delivers in all respects. The soda fountain had three different choices for diet drinkers: Diet Coke, Diet Pepsi, and Diet Dr. Pepper. It's a little tricky getting back out onto Whipple Avenue as the traffic is pretty heavy and very few people are willing to stop and let you out into traffic but I navigated the procedure successfully and was on my way pretty quickly. read more

I do not know if this is a review as much as it is sharing my experience going here this morning. I go to this gas stop all the time and since it is early enough [I go get gas on the way to work] it is always really easy to reach an empty station. There is nothing spectacular about this place except their might be a panhandling problem. This is not about that though, this is about my morning there. This is my story... Today was a funny sort of morning. I need gas about once a week and I always go to the same place. I get off in the morning on the way to work on the Whipple exit southbound and stop at the Arco. I do this all the time. Last week I was there and this guy came up to me and told me his sob story about how he and his sister were heading up to San Francisco or something and they needed gas. He had the pathetic and sad-sack look on his face and I was more than sympathetic to his plight. I spoke to him and I did not feel like "filling him up" or anything so I gave him the cash I had. All I had was like five dollars or so on me so I felt bad that was all I could give him. Last week I actually felt bad for not being able to help more and nearly got out of my car once I started it to actually pay for his thing. I did not but I spent the morning thinking about my charity and my giving ; or in this case, my lack of charity and giving. I was dirty because I skipped my shower for the extra few minutes of sleep and I had not shaved in two weeks because of all the overtime I had to put in at work. Why this might matter I will get to now. So this morning I am back at the same station pumping the same gas and in front of me I see that guy again. He is asking the guy in front of me filling up his truck for the same thing with the same face and the same hang-dog expression! I look at him incredulously. What is his boggle? Why is he swindling people? Is he a local homeless/drug addict/vagabond? Either way he is a liar, a con and a cad. As I am thinking this, my hair still wet from washing and my face shaved and smooth, along he comes to me after being turned down and makes the same case to me. I mean the SAME CASE! He said the same things and had the same look as he did to the other guy and as he did to me the week before. I wondered if he could not remember me or if he could not recognise me... he looked at me nonetheless, eyes pleading for help. I looked him right in the eye and said, "You did this last week." I was calm and controlled, stating it as fact and not a question or an accusation. Instantly his face turned into a half-scowl and he walked off without a word. He had done this so much and had been rejected and accused of repeat accosting enough times that it did not phase him. Was he a pro or something? He went to the next island of people as if nothing. The guy pumping gas in front said, "Oldest trick in the book, eh?" but I could not answer. I just dumbly nodded at him. As the odd feelings of the previous encounter still swirled around me I turned around to see a older black man beginning to speak to me. "Excuse me," he said in a rasp of age and defeat, "...I do not want any money from you I just need gas to get back home." I looked at him. He looked sincere and he wanted help and I wanted to give it but I could not. So fresh were the feelings of betrayal from before that I dismissed him. If he was sincere then it was bad timing and if not, no harm done I guess. It then really bugged me that this other dude made me question my faith in people even for a moment. I am actually angry at him. I do not know his story and I do not know what he was thinking or doing there but it still bummed me out. I do not want to process these heady thoughts on my way to work. The man in front of me said something smarmy like, "I did not know gas didn't cost money..." I know decor would have been to acknowledge him but I just stood there blankly staring and when the gas stopped flowing I got in my car and finished my trip to work. I just do not know how I feel about all this. ... So that was my morning. I wonder if I will ever see them again. Does anyone else ever have to deal with these people? Does anyone know who or why they are what they are and do what they do? This is not going to keep me from coming but it does make me feel odd about the whole situation. read more

Went it to grab a soda and chips. They were running a special for any size fountain drink for 87 cents, but they tried to charge me $1.49 because I was refilling a used cup. I had to pour the drink into one of their cups to get the reduced price. Way to waste plastic! read more

It's just a little bit more expensive 2-5 cents than the Arco on Delaware @ Hwy 92. It's still considerably cheaper than stations in San Carlos, Belmont, or Menlo Park...so deal with it. It's easy to get in here, not so easy to get out, especially if you want to get back on 101. Like any ARCO, credit cards are not accepted. If you really need that, go to the Valero across the street. Otherwise pony up 35 cents to use your debit or hand over cash. read more

A great alternative for costco. Cheap gas. I just learned that there is an ATM for chase (which I never noticed before/ never paid attention to). Just be careful though, when I went here late at night (10-ish) I've been approached by a lady who was asking for free gas and then gets mad when you refuse. Twice. On 2 different occasions. Its not far from exit off whipple rd and cheapest priced gas too Very clean and large driveway has all the common AmPm offerings in store bathrooms are even kept clean. Has Chase banking ATM inside and the workers are nice. Didn't get his name but was training the day I visited. i'm a fan of this station because it's right off 101. i often stop here on my way up to or back from SF, cause the gas is sometimes cheaper here than in SF, or even in San Jose, for whatever reason. I think they are open 24 hrs. read more

This business is being run very well. I recently visited because I was traveling. I usually have breakfast in the morning before work so I look for gas stations that have microwaves and restrooms. I was working outside of the main office that day, so I went inside to simply use the restroom. When I entered, the aisles were neat and clean. There is nothing better than a clean and orderly store. Secondly, the cashier on duty was smiling and was very friendly. They gladly obliged that I use the restroom. I was taken aback by their kindness. Third would have to be the immediate greeting that I received when I entered. Therefore, I want to congratulate the staff and business owner for running an efficient station. Be careful paying cash. I gave libertard the cashier on Aug 11 2018. Told her $60 on pump 2 which she reconfirmed. Loaded 38.14$ and when I went back in to get my change, I was given $1.86!! I said I gave 60 dollars to her but I am assuming she kept the other $20 and punched in prepaid $40. Watch out she's a thief!!! Will never patronize the store again! read more

A smaller gas station, its food selection isn't as extensive as some other competitors like 7Eleven. On the other hand, gas is a little cheaper compared to other gas stations in redwood city and the workers are polite. Its location is convenient as it is right off the freeway. read more

Good location usually not crowded. ARCO normally has the best price\gas quality ratio. I bought a Gatorade and some cookies. I come here for gas once a week because it is near a site in which I work. All the other reviews pretty much say it right; clean, sometimes difficult to get back to 101, fairly priced, etc. so this isn't a review on the station. My complaint is that Arco only accepts debit cards with which I usually have no problem. But two weeks ago as well as last week it began denying my B of A debit card both at the outside terminal and the one inside. Fortunately I carry enough cash to cover my purchase. So today I stopped by my bank to try out the card at the ATM and it works! Nothing wrong with my card. So I called Arco which referred me to BP Arco which covers NorCal and am told there is nothing they can do about my situation as all they do is supply the fuel. I will try again one more time and if it doesn't work and nothing can be done about it I will be switching back to Union 76. My Outback just runs better on either of these two fuels. I guess I could continue paying by cash and thus saving the 35 cent transaction fee but I like the convenience of a card. A couple of years ago Arco partnered with the Discover card which I really appreciated. I hope they bring back their own card again. read more
