I have been waiting over a week on two prescriptions that I need daily. the pharmacy has been closed (during normal business hours) every time I go in with no notification of closure. What can you say, it's a Walgreens. In terms of product selection and store layout they're going to be a lot the same. But I like this location and sort of look forward to getting my necessities here. I always seem to end up here when I'm in need of something like toothpaste or a phone charger. The store is clean and well-organized. The employees are helpful but not in-your-face. They have a pretty good selection of hair care and beauty products. That's not unusual for a Walgreens but this store is fairly convenient to go to. On my last couple of visits I noticed that a lot of the products had testers available, which is nice when you're kind of low maintenance and a little adrift in the world of beauty products. One thing I've really started to evaluate chain drugstores on is the restroom situation. The condition can kind of depend on the traffic level of the store and the care taken by the staff to keep it clean and stocked. This one isn't bad. It's definitely better than some other locations in Milwaukee. It's not fancy, but it's generally clean. I'm probably thinking about this place because I need a new phone charger along with a few other little things. I don't have any other plans that would take me over to the Oakland St. area, so I might have to improvise or else get my things at another store. The slowest pharmacy in the world. I had an appointment made 2 weeks in advance for a vaccine and didn't receive my vaccine until 45 min after my scheduled time. I was standing at the correct window, no one came for 15 minutes, so I moved to the drug line. Then, they sent me back to the window after waiting 20 min in the drug line and the pharmacy tech tried to blame it on ME that "I wasn't waiting in the correct spot". I have lived off Cramer St directly next to this Walgreens for 2 years and I can confidently say they have the worst hours out of any business in this city. If you are going here with the idea that it's 24 hours- ITS NOT- they definitely aren't open for some unknown reason with a lame sign on the door. Some days they just don't open (card reader down, register error, staffing issues) but they never put it online. Typical large chain pharmacy. Store is stocked with variety of items you would expect. Location is fairly large serving a diverse population. Primarily come here for prescriptions. Honestly almost always use the drive through. This time I had paper prescriptions & not in a position in which I could drop & return. I was told if I waited, my order would be ready in about 20 - 25 minutes whereas if I left it would be 90 minutes. So I chose to wait...... And the waiting area is not user friendly. I don't know what it is about Walgreens that makes me an uber thrify coupon clipper. I actually get excited when I first enter... grab the weekly ad and scour away for the best deals. If you're going to shop at Walgreens you need to use the coupons. You'll be glad you did - scoring some pretty decent deals. Why do I love Walgreens so much? What am I? An old man? Once you have been to a single Walgreen's, you've pretty much been to them all. The things is that you haven't been to them all. What makes this Walgreen's different from the average is the staff, the pharmacy staff, the photo staff, and even the cashiers, They actually seem to care. They know their respective departments and the rest of the store. They are very friendly. They actually seem to care about their clientele too, which is cool. read more

This review is for the PHARMACY department. The store is clean, location and parking are good. However, this PHARMACY only hires incompetent people. Of the 6 or so prescriptions I have had filled over the last couple of years, here are some of the lowlights: -Pharmacy calls to say prescription is filled. When I show up, it's not ( 3 times). -Pharmacy tells me the prescription was not received. Then is re-sent twice more by my doctor. Still no luck. -Doctor sends RX, and Pharmacy keeps saying they didn't receive it, even though I am getting automated calls telling me it is. (Twice just this week!). Like I said, I am all about equal opportunity employment opportunities but this pharmacy would benefit from at least one qualified employee. read more

Each time you're in line for drive through, expect at least a 20 minute wait, Turn your car off. Periodically someone else's insurance is randomly swapped into your own and then you have the luxury of finding out after waiting, and being told to park and wait in line inside, to have them look over the cards you gave them the month before. If you call the store to ask questions, you get sent to some center, where their guess is as good as your own and they advise you to go into the store and ask. You go into the store and ask, anything- everyone is too busy and annoyed to be bothered. Lunch break is usually 130-2pm. The real question is why haven't I switched pharmacies yet. I got an alert from the VA recently that they were partnering with Walgreen's to provide no-cost flu shots for eligible veterans, and that it would synch up with my VA medical record. That's a deal I couldn't refuse. And this Walgreen's location was the most convenient for me, although I'd never been here before. It all started out well enough. But the 20-25 minutes the young woman I started with said it would take, turned out to be well over an hour -- most of it spent just sitting and waiting for the pharmacist to free herself up to give shots to me and a couple other people languishing in the waiting area. The pharmacist who finally gave me the shot was snotty, condescending, and didn't apologize for the long wait. When I asked her if the paperwork she'd thrown on the table was mine to take, she said, "It's got your name on it." Alright then. I won't be coming back here if I have anything to say about it. This is a pretty solid Walgreens on Oakland. I've been to better, but this place is not bad at all. Red box outside, helpful workers, knowledgeable pharmacist, and good service. Prices are a little more marked up than other Walgreens I've been to, but prices are fine for Milwaukee. The variety of drinks is okay, they do not have Naked juice [||] (my friend wanted this), but oh well it's Walgreens. My fav place for drugs, quick vitamins, Benadryl, Tylenol, etc. A helluva lot better than piece of shh it CVS. Better prices by far. This place has what any typical Walgreens has. At this particular location, you may encounter stoners wandering aimlessly, or brother Charles beggin fo cash money, pimpin da parkin lot but who cares - it's a college atmosphere. I personally do know a worker here who had to deal with a robbery. If you go early in the morning at a messed up time like 3 or 4 am, you may encounter some shady creatures. Go at a normal time and nothing to worry about. I can't give this place a 5/5 because it's not THAT good. Lot's of creeches being nubs in the parking lot - lookin like a lost crunk flock of human geese. I'd give it a 3.5, but I gotta round up cuz the pharmacist was very informed and the check out woman was quick. Don't expect a short line at checkout, but you should be able to check out within a couple min. after queueing up in line. Big drug store with extended hours in a very convenient location. In an area where parking is somewhat problematic, they have their own parking lot and there are bike racks nearby. It's a big, well stocked, relatively clean Walgreens with two drawbacks. Drawback number one is that there are often aggressive panhandlers lurking in front, they will bother you coming and going. Inside, there are often large packs of college students, maybe not a bother to you, but I'm a college professor and like to avoid work when I'm not at work. At times there can be fairly long check out lines. read more

After eight years of using this insanely dysfunctional pharmacy, I finally called it quits today in a much louder voice than I should have used. If you are fortunate enough to have your prescription filled here correctly, on-time, and at the right price, don't make the mistake of thinking it will happen ever again. First of all, the pharmacy's operating system rarely works. And then there are the shockingly incompetent druggists, the untrained counter workers, long lines of angry customers, and many other problems that make this rude, dirty, no-masks-required retailer one of the seven circles of Milwaukee's medical hell. If you need a prescription filled, you'd be wise to go elsewhere. Or you can just die. The one star is for the kind, patient manager on whom I spilled eight years of my vitriol this afternoon. I have experienced so many issues and f-ups with this pharmacy location. I get way better service at almost, no wait, every other location I have ever been to. I keep reminding myself to stop coming here but it's so close to my house. My most recent issues were sending a prescription refill request on Sunday to receive a confirmation Monday that they were delayed and the pharmacy had to contact my doctor. I called today, Thursday, and it turns out they didn't actually contact my doctor until today (Thursday) around 3pm. I know this because I called to follow up and then called to follow up with my doctor's office. What the fk? I even went into the branch on Monday after receiving that notice to see if they needed anything from me. The person tells me it's already been sent to my Dr. and they are waiting for an approval. They knew I was out of my meds. Why would they wait free days to do this? And why would they tell me it's done when it is actually not. And the second most recent incident was a month ago when I requested a refill at this location on medication. I got a notice saying my med was ready for pick up. I couldn't pick it up for a few days. Someone from the pharmacy called me to make sure I was going to pick it up since I had one more day before they re-shelved it. So I went after work that day to go get it. Turns out, it was already re-shelved and the woman said she'd put the request in and it would be ready in about 30 minutes. I go home and come back over an hour later. When I arrive to pick it up, they tell me it is re-shelved and if I'd like it refilled they will do it and it will take 30mins. I'm like wtf ?!!! Yes I want it!!!!!!!! I was just here an hour ago and you (same dang person) told me the same dang thing when I came in the first time!!!! So they "refill it" and I leave and come back the next day after work and...get this... like the fracking Ground Hogs Day movie.. they (same dang woman again!!!) tell me it's re-shelved they can put that request in for me. At this point I am pissed AF and start to lose my shit. Also, I will say that most of my interactions here were with the same damn woman!!!!! Like, what the actual Fk?! I said my peace to her and her damn boss in the white coat behind the counter. It was ridiculous to have to go back and forth here so many dang times. Do your job!!!!! This is the best Walgreens because it's got a great parking lot. Seriously, it's awesome. This Walgreens is clean, and new-ish to boot. You don't have to be scared to use the restroom if the urge strikes while you're shopping and also, this Walgreens has all the things you probably need. Cat food and eyedrops and whatever. The only reason it looses a star is because of its proximity to all the bro-centric frat houses of Murray Hill and UWM. Seriously. Plastic cups and ping pong ball displays are smart marketing, but dumb too. I know everyone has to be young once, but maybe don't be young around me. That said, I'd much rather deal with the sorority sisters and 19 year-olds in Grateful Dead shirts and fatty hemp necklaces than even think about going to the Walgreens on Brady. That parking lot? That's it. I can't wait another second to write this review. This is the best Walgreens I've ever been to, and I grew up in the city where their Corporate Headquarters resides. So, yeah. I've seen some nice Walgreens. The best part of this place is one Pharmacy Tech whose name is Deana/Deena (not sure about spelling, but she is usually wearing a hat). She is not only extremely professional and efficient, she also happens to be one of the nicest people with whom I have ever interacted. No joke. She goes above and beyond to make sure you've used any applicable coupons, and she will pick up the phone and call around if the pharmacy is out of what you need. One time she re-rang my 50+ items because of a computer malfunction, and was not the least bit annoyed. She is a ray of sunshine in an otherwise florescent world. I also like that this Walgreens employs UWM students, because it has a slightly more playful atmosphere. Sure, pharmacies can be serious business. But sometimes you just needed to stop in for a Snapple and some water guns, and it's refreshing to have a staff that seems happy to be there. read more

I'm a total Walgreens fan. There is something about walking in and seeing those orange tags which denote Clarence items, that just gets me excited. I can't help it I love a drug store steal. This location is great, there is always parking in the lot, which is like gold. The staff is always very helpful and friendly. One draw back to this location is the pharmacy is not 24 hours. To most this probably wouldn't be a big deal but as a night owl I am a little saddened by this fact. All this means is more careful planning on my part for my prescriptions. Currently, all the super clearance items go on some of the end racks in the back if you are looking for random cheap things that are out of season. One of the only stores in the area that remains open 24 hours, which makes me a fan. Their prices are fairly good and I use their pharmacy on occasion. The staff does their best to be helpful even when they can't find what you need. And my only complaint is their rather limited kitchen supply section could be expanded as they are one of the only stores in the area that offer those types of goods. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Went today to pick up a prescription. I was told my copay would be $164 instead of the usual $60. When I questioned it, the clerk told me they didn't have the generic and I'd have to buy the name brand. I asked if she could check another Walgreens, she said no. NO! And that I can call wherever I'd like! What!?! Have you ever heard of customer service? I CAN CALL? You don't even alert me that there is an issue with my prescription! I find out as I'm picking up my prescription. You don't think $100 difference is a big deal? I had to go into work late so I could call pharmacy after pharmacy to find someone who has my medication. I have been a customer and member of Walgreens for as long as I can remember. I do not normally do this and have never in my life have ever filed a complaint against anyone because I understand people have their days. I feel that, for the convenience of others, this time I should. I was shopping at my local Walgreens, when a cashier representative had asked me to take down my hood upon entering. Though not happy with this request, I complied. The store manager of the store approached me and asked me: "Do you have a problem with it?" After I mentioned that I did, he then began to try to draw comparisons of someone walking into the store with an armed weapon as a way to justify the set out rule: "You wouldn't want someone to come into the store with a gun would you?" I mentioned to him that a hood and a gun are two very different things but he interrupted me and said that if I did not like the rule, I was free to shop elsewhere: "If you do not like it, you can take your business elsewhere." I understand that he may have been having a hard day, and perhaps that was the tipping point, but even in frustration, I believe that his behavior was unprofessional and very unacceptable, which is why I am informing the company as to bring awareness of this issue. I do not intend on shopping at that or any other Walgreens and longer, and as of this moment, I have lost all desires to patron the store again. read more

I just moved to the area not too long ago (from Brady St.) and I was blown away by this Walgreens. I was ecstatic to learn it was also 24 hours. The thing that set it far beyond any of the other Walgreens stores I've been to is the service. Compared to Brady, this is the Mecca of customer service. Every time I've gone there, people greet me and ask me if I need any help. That has never happened to me at any other store. There are a few guys there who have no problem engaging you and shoot the -ish with you. The dude with the curly hair - Nicest ever. Alyssa, I think her name was? Super cool. Everyone else is awesome too. One thing they should do away with though is the obvious, "Be well" line they have their employees say at the end of every transaction. Always a first for horrible customer service at my everyday Walgreens. A few weeks ago I bought a Wahl Trimmer and it recently stopped charging. I called Wahl and explained the problem and I also don't have my receipt anymore. They told me a to take it to the location I bought it from for an exchange, and the store will handle the return. Go to store #10873 and Matt the store manager, told me there is nothing he can do without a receipt or pulling it up by my rewards card, which i didn't use. He told me to call 1-800-925-4733. I said I would and walked away to pick up a prescription. This is when for some reason he follows me asking me three times the exact date I bought it. The third time I finally turned around and said, "a few weeks ago, I don't know the exact date, it's beard trimmer not a car." He asked me to show the product on the shelf, I did. He grabs it and walks away really fast saying he'll be back. Refusing to answer my question on what is going on, extremely awkward. After 10 minutes or so Matt comes back flaunting a printout of when the last one was sold. He kept saying, "see, see I haven't sold one since April 30th, not a few weeks ago, see see!" I proceed to walk away saying, "maybe a you have an problem with an employee stealing by not ringing up a product and just taking the cash." I get outside before I realize April 30th is a few weeks ago - only four. I called the 1800 number and the lady was so nice and understanding, promising they'll have this issue fixed by tomorrow (6/2) and I'll receive a call from Matt's manager, the District Manager.
