So I had the two extremes of service here. At the extreme low end--and I really wish I could contact the store manager to talk about this guy--was a weirdo cashier who legitimately made my skin crawl, and I do not say that lightly in a Yelp post. This individual was a young man with a neck beard wearing a bright pink wig. Weird, but that's not what made my skin crawl. I asked a simple question, and he gave me a vague answer, then when I asked some quick clarification, he proceeded to literally STARE ME DOWN. I actually felt threatened and disconcerted, even though there was no physical threat from this little guy, but I know a bad vibe when I feel one. This individual was not right. I guarantee it. And he should not be working up front with customers. On the other end of the spectrum, when I walked away for a moment and thankfully came back to find a different cashier, was Ms. Angela. At least I think her name tag said Ms. Angela. There was certainly a Ms. in there. But she was an older black woman who was nothing but lovely and sweet and helpful. Please, Pick 'n Save, get more people like Ms. Angela on the registers, and fewer like that weirdo in the wig. read more

One of the most important reasons I ever come to Pick'n Saves are to replenish my MCTS pass and the service desk here just can't handle that. This PnS is smaller than most, without adequate cashiers and nobody likes self serve. If you're going to make me work for the store, then either pay me or give me a good discount and a little paid training. The produce isn't always fresh and well displayed, and I often can't find what I came in here for (like to put more money on my bus pass, or good oranges). The parking lot doesn't seem safe (not in terms of crime, in terms of low speed collisions). There's no good place to secure my bicycle either. read more

I went to this pick n save to get a special season holiday coke (creamy holiday vanilla Diet Coke) I checked online and it said they had it in stock. When I got there, it was out of stock so I left empty handed. On the way out, the security guard approached me and asked myself and my boyfriend to unzip our jackets to make sure we weren't stealing! I've never experienced treatment like this anywhere before. It was a very upsetting experience and I won't be returning to this run down, disappointing store. read more

People plz take my word for it as a vodka connoisseur stay away from their Karkov & Mr Boston vodkas ALL sugar water! no ethanol in them at all. My review today will be about the blatant disregard of their rebate policies. I was encouraged to buy extra bottles of Taaka vodka (coupons on the bottles) & could write in for the rebate. The absolute worst grocery store I've ever been too. Like straight out a movie laughable. Im not sure if anyone works here... I'm not sure if anyone owns it... it just exists. Only has one door that you enter and leave from. You get a lot of variety out of the carts because I don't think any of them match... you want a small basket... nope.... But they got 3 wheeled push carts... Lines are so long usually end at the back of the store... they have 8 sec serve lanes but typically 3.5 work. No humans work a actual lane... Typical Pick N Save gone Kroeger. New ownership created significant changes in the deli, hot bar, salad bar & product selection. The push is always the store brand. To emphasize this, the brand label selection in products is limited & often not well stocked. A particularly frustrating aspect to say the least. Overall stocking of shelves is dreadful. Basic items such as half & half or sour cream will be missing from the case. Shelves will be completely bare. The deli is 90% self serve. All sides, such as potato salad, macaroni salad, coleslaw are all self serve. They package sliced meats & cheeses for convenience. Nice. But if you don't want a pound or sliced differently you have to get the attention of staff behind the case. No easy task as they are busy packing meats & cheeses. The hot bar generally consists of fried chicken, roasted chicken & french fried potatoes. Sometimes you'll find macaroni & cheese, mashed potatoes (no gravy) or fish. That's the extent. This should be treated purely as a convenience location. Always have the expectation to go elsewhere as you enter. It eases the disappointment upon your exit. read more

Do not go there to recharge your mcts bus pass in the morning before 8am. My bus pass expired and I needed to add money to it. I stopped by at around 7am on my way to work. They have not opened the registers yet and I have been rudely told to come back at 8am. Other than that, the store is neat and well organized. Staff are friendly enough. Prices always ring up wrong, I'm talking daily and not in the customers favor. Just now bought chicken, two large yellow signs saying $2.99 while supplies last. Rings up $9.99. Day 3 of this happening with the same product. Each time I've told the manager. My fault for not checking my receipt, but even after getting a managers override, two of ten rang up $9.99. I know I'll get my refund but it's a hassle. I shouldn't have to be getting a refund multiple times a week. read more

I've been shopping at this neighborhood location for 20yrs & know many employees personally, an employee named Tommy in liquor department (has literally rung my purchases up hundreds of times), askes me for ID all of a sudden (I'm 50 & greying) He has always been a creepy guy, & he made me suspicious, so I asked to see the manager. Identity theft & RFID skimming (a victims bank, health & all other personal info can be wirelessly lifted using a scanner small enough to fit in someone's hand) are becoming very prevalent crimes, so are home invasions. John Gacy used to cruise for children after obtaining their address from job applications at pharmacies he sub contracted for. The manager Tianah was so pleasant & accommodating she moved him over & rung my purchases up herself. This store has a high turnover rate of management so I truly hope this young lady stays on here, she really seems eager to make her customers shopping experience a positive one. read more

It's interesting to me that the cost of living, I was told, is so much less in Milwaukee than Chicago, but the groceries are slightly more expensive. With that said, this store has virtually everything that one would expect from your basic big box megamart. The problems were that 1) the guy behind the meat and fish counter had never heard of Red Snapper, 2) the guy that was bagging packed my bread at the bottom of the cart below a bunch of heavier things so the bread got smashed, 3) the fellow ringing me up never acknowledged my presence, he just continued his conversation with the bagging guy about cell phones, and 4) carts were initially nowhere to be found so either someone wasn't grabbing them from the lot quick enough or the store doesn't have enough to go around, even considering that they weren't all that busy. This is the closest megamart to where I live so I will be back, but they clearly have some work to do to be worthwhile. read more

Due to the closing of my Shorewood Pick 'N Save, I have been forced to drive to this store. The parking lot isn't bad, it is easy to get in and out of. The liquor department is in the store, so you don't have to do two separate transactions. The produce are is nice and large and they have the biggest deli food/salad bar/grab-and-go section of any Pick 'N Save on this side of town. There is even a small seating area. Due to the increased traffic this store is getting because of people like me, I feel it took them a while to figure out how much more inventory they would need. I have not experienced the lack of items like almond milk, yogurt, orange juice, and fresh chicken in the past couple months. Avoid this store on Saturday afternoons - it is SO busy!!!! I feel like some of the store is newer (I see that they did undergo a remodel) but the middle of the store seems old and dingy. Like the aisles with crackers or pasta.... Perhaps it is the lighting. It's nice to see some familiar faces here that came from the Shorewood store. It is a fairly convenient location for the area. I'll be visiting this location for a few more months.... read more

Went to the Deli to purchase an 8 piece container of fried chicken at 5:30pm on a Saturday evening- Don't do it!!! Always go before 2pm. I Waited 45 minutes for her to cook it. As I watched her- She cut the bag open- (meat was bloody- and this is my 2nd time seeing this) she dumps it in this big white pan and takes each piece and dumps it in the flour- (meat was never washed off). Left in the pan- (red blood). Once the chicken was done- she took her time putting the pieces in the containers/ tagging and weighing it- while 5 customers were furious. I went to call for a Manager and he just had excuses, excuses. Why was she the only one working-with her earpiece to avoid talking to the customers anyways?? this is one of pick n save that I go to and this is an almost OK one. carts are available, pretty good selection of everything. Customer service isn't too bad. in summary, I do not have any complaints about the store. However, I am sick of panhandlers. They have time and energy to stand by the door and ask people for money but they don't want to work. which is the same thing that they are doing now. read more

This store is okay. Some of their employees are very helpful. Some just don't care. If you shop there regularly, you'll figure out who is good about helping customers. Once I was there about an hour before they closed and the customer service desk (where you can get cigaretotes) was closed. An employee who was near the customer service desk said, "They closed." I asked her how I could get cigarettes. She said, "You cain't. They closed." So I went through a checkout and the cashier got me a pack. Again, some - probably most - of the employees are very helpful and courteous. Others, clearly have no interest in being there. Oh and hey guys - update your hours on your website - AND on your voicemail. Once I got there around 9:50 just to pick up a couple things for the morning and they were about to close. I mentioned to the cashier that the website stated that they were open till 11:00. The cashier told me that they had been closing at 10:00 for a few months. Like it was somehow my fault for not knowing that. So to find out when they open in the morning, I called the store to listen to the recording (I knew to not trust the website.) just to hear the outgoing announcement state the same hours that are on the website. So who knows when they really open. In general, it's an okayyyyy grocery store. Just learn who the helpful employees are (and some are really really helpful) and don't bother with the ones who aren't. read more

UPDATE! Never again. Seriously, I'm done. In my most recent trip, I experienced rude and inconsiderate shoppers, the store was out of things I was looking to buy, and the checkout line was atrocious. I'm fairly used to that, as it's a common occurrence at this store. What I'm not used to is the bagger putting raw meat and veggies together. He also didn't put refrigerated items with other refrigerated items. I have no idea why. I'm also not used to the Cashier leaving mid order to give her co-worker an order for McDonald's, and then having her go to the break room to get her purse to pay her. IN THE MIDDLE OF CHECKING ME OUT. I stood there for 2 minutes while she did this. The people in line were not happy either. I can endure a lot; I've worked in a grocery store. Yes these people are getting minimum wage, but this really is unacceptable. The fact that none of the other employees saw a problem with it speaks volumes. I will now go out of my way to go somewhere else. Terrible. Never again. read more

This Pick and Save is my go-to, ONLY due to its proximity to my house. I could drive an additional mile and hit two Pick and Saves with the same stone, but there's something to be said for convenience. That said, it's pretty dang sucky. I mean, they usually have what I'm after: organic milk, yogurt, Brownberry Health Nut bread, whole-wheat tortillas, salsa, Newman's pasta sauce... you know, the usual stuff. But! The parking lot is a NIGHTMARE. (I always feel like it's a disorganized rat race.) Also, the security guards just drive around and around and around, adding to the confusion that many tiny stop signs in one small-ish space create. The store itself? Not the best produce selection, but not the worst. I rarely ever buy meat here. That, and there are long, long lines, all the time. The check-out aisles are never properly staffed, ever. Staples, for when I'm running low? Check. Entire grocery shopping runs? I'll drive the extra mile or two. read more

Man, oh man. People don't seem to like this place very much at all. It doesn't really bother me too badly. But it certainly doesn't deserve much more than 2 stars. I use this place for the easy items that can be found at just about any supermarket. However, for produce or meat products, it's wise to go elsewhere. It's funny how different one Pick n Save can be from others that are hardly more than a mile away. I've used this location for a few years. The other reviews are pretty spot-on with regard to long lines and uninterested employees. I know of a few cashiers that are quasi-friendly from time to time. But they are few and far between. Metro Market is not very far from here, has more stuff, better choices, and a few robots to use for checking out. It's a better choice if you're using a car. But if you're just grabbing beer and a few items that have long shelf-lives, it won't kill you. read more

This Pick and Save sucks. While I really don't enjoy grocery shopping I don't hate it but every time I go to this particular store I become infuriated. There are multiple reasons that I don't like it but here a few of my favorite ones. -The produce is overpriced and unripe. -There are always out of everything. It doesn't matter what it is you want, they won't have it. -I really think that they know how many cashiers they need at any given moment but then they subtract 3 people. When I am waiting in line in the chip aisle we have a problem. -Lastly, this store seems to run on a 6 month delay when stocking new products. I am really tired of having to run to Target every time I want to get my Nutella. There are really no other grocery stores on the East Side of Milwaukee so unfortunately I will have to keep shopping at this location. I guess I could suck too if I had a monopoly on the grocery stores in metro Milwaukee. read more

This store underwent a remodel last Spring. The results are GREAT! I think the Produce section is larger, the store is brighter, there's a new "Grab & Go" bar, interior cafe seating and so forth. The layout on the East end of the store is more open (florist moved over there), which feels great. Yes, it is a basic grocery store. But, they've got some organic produce, an assortment of vegan options (bratwurst, grill items, fake cheese etc.). There's a wide variety of ethnic hair care products, some make-up, a pharmacy, a community bulletin board and they have good sales. They also have eco-friendly options (paper goods and detergent). It's on the MCTS 10 and 21 lines. And, the bike parking is *much* better than Shorewood location! This Pick n Save is solid, in my book. read more

Although I don't do my weekly grocery shopping here, it is my go-to for any quick run to the store. Easy in and out parking and straight forward layout. I don't get produce here unless I have to because of previous bad experiences but the snacks, dairy, dry goods and wine/beer are all great for grab and go. The liquor express check-out and the new self check-outs mean I can usually get in, out and (you guessed it) on my way! read more

This is the closest supermarket to our home so, unfortunately, we do a lot of our shopping here. The check-out clerks are usually indifferent to your presence, if not completely non-verbal. 90% of the time we have to bag our own groceries. On a recent visit, my husband bagged the groceries but didn't notice that the clerk must have set our toilet paper aside. We realized when we got home that we didn't have it but were charged for it. The manager wouldn't honor our receipt and replace it. I can understand that they'd have "no way to prove it," but they also made no effort to look into the situation, attempt to ask the check-out clerk, etc. read more
