Strongly do not recommend this pharmacy!! The technician at the pharmacy desk was EXTREMELY RUDE and insulting. He accused me of trying to "scam" the system because previously I have used a different Walgreens pharmacy to fill a prescription, which I explained is because I refill from a place close to my work when its convenient, and on Brady St. when its more convenient on my days off. He was very rude and the fact I was accused of such a thing, was honestly disgusting. Highly recommend any other pharmacy. read more

Ooof. I'm actually bummed that this is the nearest Walgreens to my house, therefore the most convenient to access. Because of this, my prescription was set up to come to this pharmacy. Now I've never had a prescription to anything before being on prenatal vitamins for my pregnancy, so I'm not sure if it's just always this complicated (?). To begin with, the bummer is that you will *never* be in-and-out in a few minutes. There is always quite the line and never seems to be enough staff on hand behind the pharmacy counter. My prescription is on an auto-renew every 30 days - which I've double checked to be true twice now - however for some reason it's never ready on time. Most recently, I called ahead, again, to confirm it was good to pick-up and was told it would be ready by 9am the following morning. After arriving and waiting in line for a solid 20 minutes, the pharmacist informed me that the prescription was in fact not ready and wouldn't be until the following Monday. Can I survive without prenatal vitamins for a few days? Yes. But that's not the point. It's just really unfortunate that there is constantly miscommunication and slow service. The rest of the store is fine, your typical Walgreens I suppose. Open 24-hours, very easy parking, and carries everything you'd need of a convenient store. read more

This is one of the closest Walgreens to my apartment, but it is definitely more of an incase of emergencies location for me if I really need something, but I rotate with the CVS across the street. Today I walked in to pick up some photos and waited at the photo counter for a couple minutes while someone restocked basically right behind it. I eventually had to ask her if she was able to help me, because she didn't offer to. Once I did get the photos, the woman at the front register checked me out and she was quick and polite. I was able to get in and out pretty quickly, but generally there's a pretty big line. read more

5 stars for the gentlemen that works in their photo department. I took advantage of their online photo books that print same day for a going away gift for a work colleague, & that I needed to ship same day. I called Walgreens in the AM and spoke to the photo clerk about timing and my needs. He was upfront with the expectations and what he can do on his end. I called him after I placed the order online and he personally called me as he was finishing up the book binding. I was able to get the photobook overnighted at UPS to my colleague just in time for our "virtual going away happy hour". It was greatly appreciated and brought tears to his eyes! I refuse to set foot into this Walgreens. I only attempted to get photos printed here because the other Walgreens I live near is closed today. However, the Walgreens I normally shop at does NOT have any issues with printing pictures. This Walgreens on Brady Street unfortunately DOES HAVE PROBLEMS printing pictures. Absolutely ridiculous!! If you can't fill out a simple order, why should I shop here?? I can wait until the other Walgreens opens. Until then, I will let other shoppers BEWARE of the Walgreens on Brady Street. Came into the pharmacy today to refill a post surgery mouthwash that I had spilled a bit of and needed earlier than my insurance allowed. The pharmacist was more interested in blaming my insurance than actually helping me keep my mouth clean. When I asked about an over the counter option she quickly said "no" and handed back the bottle of ibuprofen I wanted filled as well. (I guess one no is a double no?) She then loudly said in front of the line of people that "since you need government help paying for medication, this is your only option". So try to embarrass me away instead of helping a customer of almost 30 years. FYI, there are several over the counter options that a real student of medicine would have offered. Many in that exact store that would be better than nothing. Also, there is almost always a line of 10+ people these days at the checkout. read more

I would consider this a typical Walgreens. It's clean enough. Not overly outstanding but I've seen way worse. It is open 24 hours, which is convenient when you need allergy medicine at 11:30pm. And I believe it is the only Walgreens in the area that is a 24-hr store. Parking lot (and nearby street parking) can be insane. When there is a festival or other event occurring on Brady Street the Chase ATM is drained of cash very, very quickly. Luckily I was the last person (at least that is what the cashier told me) who was able to use debit and get extra $. Employees appear to deal with the crazy Brady Street crowds pretty well, great costumer service during the World Cup game. Overall, A-Ok. read more

This place is just a few blocks from where I live, and I am a steady customer, thanks to old age and too many doctors. Parking can be a problem, but I can walk. And I love the fact that it is open 24 hours, even the pharmacy. I've often stopped by there at 5 am, and the overnight pharmacists know me by name--but then, so do some of the day staff. We also use it as a convenience store, picking up cokes, milk, munchies, or a big roll of toilet paper. The Walgreens reward system works pretty well, too. read more

I was actually very impressed with my experience at this Walgreens today. Most Walgreens are fairly undifferentiated, bones are a little worn down, but they get the job done for everyday items. The big issue with most of the Walgreens in lower traffic areas is that if they get a run of customers they can't / don't flex their check out capacity, so it can take a long time to get through the line. Today, there was a line growing at checkout, and I thought I was in for a long wait, but the staff immediately moved to open two new lanes (including the photo counter). How great is it to live close to a 24-hour Walgreens? SO GREAT. The store is pretty small, but usually well stocked. However, the cosmetic section (my favorite to browse) often has bare spots in a few different sections which can be a bit sad when you just want to buy your fourth tube of Kate Moss 111 Kiss of Life lipstick. The pharmacists and assistants here are really helpful. One spent almost 20 minutes with me figuring out an insurance issue, and did so without the slightest inclining of frustration. The service is usually pretty quick and painless. I know they offer different immunization shots and though I've never taken part, I'd be comfortable doing so at this location if need be. A few months ago there were some changes to the photo section, I know there were issues for weeks and because of the problems they no longer do in-house development. This is definitely a bummer, as now I have take my film and disposables to the Oakland Walgreens. The staff is usually decent, especially given the fact that they deal with so many drunk and rowdy Brady St. patrons. At the end of the day, I'm just lucky to have a place to buy 4:30am Craisins. Repeatedly the pharmacy screws up my prescription and leaves me without it for days. No matter how many times you ask to make sure they have the information they need ahead of time, you'll find out only when you get to the day that it's needed to be filled that they don't. It is only laziness that they refuse to look it up when you ask THREE TIMES. This is 2 months in a row that I found out at 6pm on a Friday that they don't have what they need after calling to make sure ahead of time and being told that they did. Some of the people seem to really try their best and seem like they know what they're doing.. but why not have THEM answer the phone? Why put the people that take the job seriously on the register when everything is already taken care of opposed to the phones where they can actually help people? Avoid this pharmacy like Covid... This Walgreens is very close to my apartment, so it is definitely my go-to convenient store/pharmacy in the area -- But the pharmacy is SLOW! I used their automated voicemail system to refill my prescription and after arriving 40 minutes late for my pick-up, the medicine still wasn't ready. They did fill it up shortly after and apologized, but it was very annoying since I was expecting to make a quick stop but it ended up being quite a long trip. They do have weekly specials, so if you have a rewards card I would recommend coming here to get great deals! read more

Worst Walgreens pharmacy I've ever been to. I've had a negative experience after negative experience there after years of being a customer, and I'm finally taking my prescriptions elsewhere. Between flat out having a not having enough medication for their clients, slow computers, sometimes over 45 minute long waits in line, being so short staffed that the pharmacy is sometimes run by only one person during a standard 9-5 business day, and flat out negligent and non-knowledgable employees - unfortunately the list goes on. Parking anywhere on Brady can be a nightmare so it's nice that there's a lot if you can find a spot. read more

The pharmacy area is a lot bigger than I'm used to, it might be because they have a clinic. I wasn't confused but I saw that some other people were when it came to dropping off a prescription. The window, when open, is down a ways away from the main area. I can see where some had trouble, especially if that window isn't always open. The very first time I came here, a lady came up to me and asked me for 50 cents to pay for an inhaler refill. I'm no expert but I think it would cost more than 50 cents. If this doesn't give you an idea of what kind of people come here, I don't know what will. I mean, I feel safe(ish) here and all but, really, she was begging people for the whole 15 minutes I was there. You'd think management would catch on and/or make her stop. The parking lot, from what I've seen, is usually packed and seems like a nightmare to deal with, so be patient and expectant when driving here. Oh, and 24 hours. read more

I'll be generous and give this location a four, although 3 1/2 is better. First, the parking can be a pain in the butt, you would think they would have their own parking lot, the panhandling is the worst, the pharmacy, the service is great, but I have a few complaints, on a Saturday night, there was only one pharmacist and only one pharmacy tech. I thought this was a 24 hour pharmacy, other than that, I will transfer all my meds here from the other pharmacy Seton pharmacy, for this being 24 hours, overall the service is good. read more

The Walgreens on Brady St is a tremendous convenience. Living on the East Side, I appreciate having an emergency store open 24hrs/day, especially when it's only a 5min walk away. Whether you need medicine or prints, sweets or salty snacks, paper products or cosmetics, office supplies or toys, even air mattresses, basic appliances, or LEGO, this site may very well have what you need (which is surprising given how small is appears). If they don't have what you need, try the CVS across the five-way intersection. It's very well-organized, though not always well-stocked. The floors and aisles are generally well-kept, while the bathrooms are sometimes in need of attention. The staff is pretty helpful, and the cashiers usually enjoy an empathetical, snarky remark to break up the monotony of the otherwise minimally-social patrons that pass through. Also, don't be offended if you bring up some sweets and they ask if you would like to buy some more - it's not sarcastic or a side comment about your weight; it's a promotional heads-up they have to ask to get rid of "on sale" candy bars. Trust me on this. My main complaint concerns the layout, mainly in that the check-out lines can be quite hostile. Most people coming through aren't pleasant old ladies from church or Mr. Rogers and his posse; they're drunks, grumps, or - at best - the average Joe. Also, there are three registers max, but no distinct lines; I've witnessed 1-3 lines formed, and usually if there are less lines than there are registers open, the impatient jerks inevitably try to skip ahead. It makes for quite a spectator sport, so brace yourself if it's the busy time of day and you're not into watching petty arguments and cringing co-shoppers. All in all, a relatively safe, quiet corner convenient store on an otherwise busy, crazy street. read more

Since this store is a neighborhood fixture, I've been getting prescriptions filled here since I moved to the lower east side over 2 years ago. At first, the problems that I encountered when getting my prescriptions filled were intermittent, and I chalked up the mistakes to the fact that the store is busy and in turn, so are the employees. But within the last year, they have made so many mistakes in filling my prescriptions, failing to note the certain manufacturers that my insurance covers and filling the wrong medications to being totally incapable of anything that resembles competency. On several occasions now, I've had to check the medication before I left because they had given me the wrong ones on more than one instance. Today was no exception. It took them 3 days to finally fax my doctor for refill authorization, and when I went to pick up my medication, it was the wrong brand despite the assurance that a note had been made in my file and that I had spoken to the pharmacist and been reassured it would be the right medication when I came to pick it up. It was not. I calmly asked the young lady to fix the mistake and that I would return later to pick it up. When I returned this evening, they informed me that they would not give me the script because my id was expired. Even though I had verified all the information correctly including my address and telephone number. Even though it was obviously me, the id has always been acceptable and has always scanned at their pharmacy window in the past, and I had a plethora of other documents that had my name and address on them. After this last encounter, and the fact that I have literally spent thousands and thousands of dollars there not just on prescription medication, but over the counter medicines, grocery items and other household goods, I can confidently say I will absolutely never return to their pharmacy and I will tell anyone who will listen the exact same thing. If I worked at this place, I would be constantly angry. Having to deal with the Brady St. rif-raff and drunkards 24/7 would be quite a challenge on my nerves. Thankfully the staff here is excellent. I mostly just go to use the pharmacy and despite the workload and the angry customers that can't figure out how health insurance works, the staff never gets rattled and always fills my script within 15 minutes. The pharmacist has no issue with taking time to answer any questions or concerns despite the scripts flying in left and right. I am so happy with the service here I have emailed Walgreens corporate headquarters to praise them. I highly recommend getting your script filled here. read more

I like the location best. It's only a couple minutes drive, and is pretty well stocked with most things if you're in a bind and don't want to drive all the way to Target or Walmart. It's a little ghetto sometimes, meaning that once a guy asked me for money and then a ride because he was in trouble with his parole officer. Lol other than that weirdness, and the fact that they don't have coolant (the lady said they'd be getting more automotive stuff shortly), this place is alright. Very small Walgreens, but has all the basics. Id say if you really want to browse a Walgreens and get a good experience, you'd be better served to go to the one a couple miles away on Oakland. I've been coming here for, geez,13 years? The place is open 24 hours and the staff here is excellent. I don't know if the pharmacy waiting area has low oxygen levels or what, but any customer ahead of me in line will invariably develop some complex insurance, prescription, or coupon dilemma that takes them completely by surprise and makes them go insane. Seriously, you rarely see the kind of customer behavior I've seen in this place. (And I worked for the cable company, so I'm no stranger to the freaking out customer.) That said, the pharmacy staff is always hands down awesome--helpful, generous, and patient--in spite of what I can only presume is a steady stream of crazy. Same goes for the store staff. Most of the people who work here have worked here forever and are REALLY good at dealing with the 24-hour public. As for the stuff they sell, my prescriptions are almost always done very quickly despite their seriously needing more staff (and maybe therapists or spiritual counselors) in the pharmacy area. The store is adequately stocked. It sells normal Walgreen's stuff. Overpriced Murphy's Oil Soap and underpriced pistachios. Smokes are cheap. The lines up front are usually either 10 people deep or empty, and move super fast unless someone insists on failing at coupon usage. They're very good at getting people out the door there. read more
