Large store and a good selection. They usually have what i am looking for. This one is usually quite busy and has a largr parking lot.

This Walgreens is open 24 hours which is great considering its prime location on Brady street. Parking here can be an absolute nightmare. There is a small parking lot that is shared with a few other businesses, but during peak times its not unusual for it to be totally full. The cashiers and other staff have always been friendly enough. They lost two stars from me because on more than one occasion when I went to pick up prescriptions only part of my order was ready. This is despite the fact that I received an automated phone call, text message, and app alert all from Walgreens stating my prescriptions were ready for pick up. Pharmacy lines can also be extremely long at times. I will still run in here from time to time to pick up things, but I have started using other Walgreens to get prescriptions filled. read more

Luckily I've not experienced any of the excitement that other have documented for this Walgreens, but my experience with this location is limited to the retail health clinic (Take Care Wisconsin, LLC) located in the rear of the store by the pharmacy. Onwards! Location: 3 out of 5 From my location in the Historic 3rd Ward, it was a less than 20 minute jog to Walgreens, and then back again. The total distance is less than 2 miles, and when you consider the amount of time it would take to drive/bike/jog and their associated resources (like the smaller parking spots, congestion, etc.) jogging turned out to be the easiest option. Several bus routes run within one or two streets of the intersection, so there shouldn't be a huge issue getting there. Scheduling of appointment/punctuality: 5 out of 5 Retail health clinics that take appointments are a double edged sword. On the one hand, it feels "reassuring" to make an appointment and have a spot in the waiting room by the time you arrive. On the other hand, the reason I usually don't seek out traditional PCPs for health screenings is because of their notorious inability to be on time. Yes, there are several reasons some outside of their control, for their inability to be punctual - but with a standard retail health clinic that takes walk-ins only as the queuing theory, there's no reason to be upset at a wait because you're served based on the order you show up. My appointment process was quick and easy - I scheduled via the Wags site, and was seen within 5 minutes of my appointment time. The APRN did have to come out and explain to someone in the waiting room that because I had made an appointment, she had to see me first. Quality of care: 4 out of 5 I had to think long and hard about the rating for quality of care. While it's true that retail health clinics aren't the panacea to all primary care issues (NB, they do very poorly at certain fields, like pediatrics or issues that require sustained continuity of care), they ARE able to do some things efficiently like routine vaccines and health screenings (vitals, blood work, some counseling, etc). A little backstory - 2 years ago I was morbidly obese and my evaluation at another one of these clinics in Chicago was definitely a more somber feeling with the APN there (no distinction between APN and APRN, except for the nomenclature based on geography) really trying to convey the fact that my health was in the danger zone. In the last year, I've dropped about 65 pounds, and among other stats, I've dropped my total cholesterol by 30 points, my total cholesterol to good cholesterol ratio is under 2, I've dropped my trigylycerides by HALF, and perhaps most reassuring - my fasting glucose went from official "prediabetes" to well within the "normal" range. As a result, there wasn't as much "counseling" involved with Linda at this location. Instead, it was more of a series of open ended conversations about what I've done, what's inspired me, etc. The final message was something along the lines of, "You've done a really good job of getting your health in shape...there's not much more I can tell you to do but to keep up the good work." So in essence, maybe the 4 out of 5 comes primarily from what people associate as being an "active listener." Linda had to draw some blood...it was not an issue, and it did not hurt, and she didn't have to redo it. "Intangibles", aka the "Comfort Factor": 3.5 out of 5 With VBP incentives from CMS being partially based on patient satisfaction inclusive of factors like how a clinic look, or how it makes you feel, let me be clear about something here. For those of you who have never been to a retail health clinic, it's not fancy. Likely it will share a waiting room with the pharmacy, and there's not a a hospitalist or staff person that triages you. Instead, you self report the chief complaint into a kiosk, as well as any insurance you may have. The actual exam room at this location was about 12 by 12, and I would describe it as being functional but comfortable. EMR/EHR integration: 3 out of 5 Take this with another grain of salt...retail health clinics do not have the ability to talk directly with any existing EMR system your PCP may use (Cerner, Epic, NextGen, etc.) but the Take Care Clinic, LLC umbrella is fully integrated, meaning they can pull up your records from any other TCC. Ease of billing: 4 out of 5 No co-pay up front since for some reason, my insurance doesn't recognize this as a "doctor's office". I think I usually pay about 25$ for these screenings out of pocket, so I really can't complain. Overall: 4 out of 5 Like I said - I wouldn't use TCC as my health care provider for every situation, but they certainly do a fine job of health assessments including blood panels for cholesterol, fats, and fasting glucose. read more

Last year I lived on Brady Street and would sometimes have sudden cravings for candy, ice cream, cheese and other assorted goodies in the middle of the night. I hate bars though and don't drink...solution? Walgreens. This baby is open 24/7 and even has night security. They have a pharamacy, but I do not use it. They are one of the few locations that appears to be adequately staffed and one of the best perks for me is the fact that they have a CHASE ATM on the inside, which is the only one I am aware of on the Eastside. The staff don't always have pep in their steps, but I excuse it since we only see eachother for a brief exchange. Also, a little tip: If they forget to offer you the item or the day, it is free! read more

Avoid Walgreen's Health Clinic at all costs. I have a high deductible so for minor illnesses I have tried a couple of times to use Walgreen's clinic, but on both occasions was treated rudely by two different clinicians and the pharmacist. This last time, I was early for my appointment, checked in at their computer kiosk, and waited forty minutes. When the clinician finally came out, she had moved on to the next name on the list, despite the fact that I was the only one waiting and had been sitting there patiently since before my appointment. She was rude, patronizing and unsympathetic. read more

This Walgreens is ridiculous! The parking is awful and the line for the pharmacy is never shorter than 5 people which seems to make for a 20 minute wait. Can Milwaukee please build another one?! read more

If zero stars were an option, they wouldn't have the one I gave. This pharmacy used to be the best in my neighborhood. Now, they are the worst. Multiple times I have ordered prescriptions through them and been promised they would be ready by a certain time only to arrive and be asked to wait longer. Not an option with my meter going because 10 different businesses share the same 25 space lot where 10 spaces are strictly handicap. Most recently, I had already been waiting a week only to be told they were out of stock and would have it by Monday. Monday came and went. Thursday came and finally they had it, but now they would not run it under my insurance. I could just buy it over the counter. Why was I not told A WEEK AGO to just buy it over the counter and then told the dosage? read more

I usually love this place... it's right by my house so I go in there everyday, sometimes more than once. The worst problem is the line at checkout. Often there is 4 or 5 people ahead of you and I have experienced multiple times when a cashier had to call for a manager to search the store for the price of some bizarre item because it wasn't labeled. Some of the cashiers are great, some of them are completely awful. I have been in this Walgreens TWICE and was scolded like a child from 2 different cashiers. I once grabbed an extra bag and the cashier loudly tells me I need to ask her permission to take an extra bag. Umm..ok. Another time I forgot my ID to buy cigarettes (although it shouldn't have been a problem since I buy cigarettes there every day with my ID) and the lady proceeds to give me a dirty look, laugh, and turn around and put the cigarettes back without a word and moves on to the next customer. I would have appreciated if she even had the decency to say, "Sorry, we have a policy requiring me to scan your ID." Some of these employees could use a lesson in customer service. I've worked in the fast food industry with some of the most disrespectful and hurried customers, and you don't have the right to make customers feel uncomfortable just when you are having a bad day. If you don't like working with customers, stop ruining peoples' day and find a job where you don't deal with people. That being said, it seems that the most polite and friendly cashiers are the younger ones. They get you through the line quickly without rushing you or being rude and actually know how to deal with a problem with a customer effectively. read more
