    Time to relax!
    Michelle E.

This is my third time floating at Float Milwaukee and I honestly cannot say enough good things! I was very skeptical at first and wasn't very interested- I love the water but mainly I have a very hard time sitting still and winding down. I also thought to myself, who the hell can float for 60 minutes?! Needless to say, I had it all wrong! I have never felt so relaxed in my life! The entire experience from start to finish is 5-stars for me. The facility is clean, I appreciate the amenities, and the staff is friendly. And 60 minutes is not too long after all. After my float, my body and mind feel so relaxed and rested. If I had the option to float weekly, I would!

What an amazing experience! This was my first time trying it, and it was a special way to reduce my stress levels. I went with my husband, and we checked out the website's video before our visit. The staff were incredibly friendly, and the place was spotless. They guided us through all the equipment in the room and explained everything thoroughly before we started the fun experience. * They provide a large body towel and a face towel, so you don't need to bring anything with you. You can choose to go naked or wear a swimsuit before you start floating. * The water is body temperature, so if you're worried about it being cold like I was, don't be! The temperature is comfortable and safe. * You can choose to turn the lights on or off, depending on your preference. * Put on the earplugs and use the small towel inside the tank. * Just hop in, relax, and enjoy the floating experience without overthinking it. * I recommend not rubbing your eyes like I did. If water gets in your eyes, they provide a spray bottle for you, but I personally just used the shower head to rinse off. * When the session is over, the music will stop, and they will let you know when your time is up. * They also offer hair dryers and a variety of hair products. The next day, I tried the NovoTHOR red light therapy for about 15 minutes, which is great for cellular healing. I went in without clothes and makeup, and you can adjust the fan to your liking. The session offers plenty of privacy and is a fantastic self-care experience. My friends have been eager to try it after seeing my pictures. It's a cool experience that's perfect for some personal time or as a special treat for someone you care about.

I've been curious about this place for years. Finally decided last week that it was time for some self care and booked myself an appointment for one of their private open pools. I was fairly certainly the pod style would not be for me. All the orientation videos were so helpful in helping me to manage my expectations. Staff were friendly and the place was clean. I took my shampoo only shower, put the earplugs in, turned off the overhead lights and grabbed the head pillow before settling into the pool. The water was warm and it was amazing how easily you float right up with all the salt water. I enjoyed the calming music in the background. I did test off turning off the the pool lights but as it was my first time, I felt more relaxed with them on. I did the 60 minute float. I found that to be a nice amount of time for me. I was worried I would miss all the cues that my time was up but I definitely noticed the lights flash and heard the doorbells. I enjoyed the convenience of their shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the pumps on the wall. Looking forward to another float in the future!

Such a great experience, from start to finish. I made my reservation online and you pay ahead of time. Of note all service fees are included in the price and you don't need to worry about tipping at the spa. I walked in and they have you remove your shoes and put on sanitized "slips" - you can keep your socks on or not. I was guided to my room and given a great explanatory tour (they do have a very good video I recommend watching before you go as well that walks you through the process). They thought of everything - you are provided with wax earplugs (i'd never used this kind before and they were great, super easy to use and completely water tight), a prepacked loofah, petroleum jelly, makeup removing wipe, face and body towel, head donut (more on that) and a great shower with body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. I put in the plugs, and showered with the shampoo and body was as instructed. Turned off the lights and got in. You can choose to manually close/open the lid, so if you feel too claustrophobic you have the option to continue with the lid open. I kept mine closed and it provided a very warm, moist, and spa-like atmosphere in there. I turned off the lights in the room, and chose to have the blue internal light on and music. I wish the music could be a little louder, as with ears submerged and earplugs I found it hard to hear. There is a provided thin foam "donut" that you put under your head to alleviate any pressure/soreness you might get trying to support your head. Immediately my body went to the surface. Initial cold boobs made me think I wouldn't like it, but as the temperature in the pod went up and my body adjusted to the water (which was so spot on that I seriously self like I was just floating on air) it was very comfortable. The first half hour I found it very difficult to relax - all my thoughts were racing and I didn't know how to position my body. Eventually I was able to shut my brain up and found a position that was extremely relaxing. I also closed my eyes with helped. Pretty soon my hour was up and I couldn't believe it! I showered again and used their "post float" room to apply makeup (going out directly after). I was offered hot tea or water immediately but the incredible staff, and left feeling relaxed and refreshed. Highly recommend!

This place was super cool. I've been wanting to try floating for a while, and decided this was the time. Scott walked me through the whole procedure emphasizing the need to put in the earplugs. One does not want salt water filtering into your ears! The pod was quite spacious, and not claustrophobic at all. I love the fact that you could listen to music, and have a bit of a night light on if you wanted to inside the pod. Me, I opted for dark and quiet. When I was in there I did some visualization, then watch some lights inside my head. And then I just got very very quiet. Do you know how sometimes when you wake up in the middle the night and you want to sleep but thoughts keep running through your head? This did not happen here. I was able to shut down my brain. There is a shower inside your room, and you shower before and after your float I your room. Lovely experience.

Now that I've been to Float twice, I can confirm that the 60-minute float is a nice and relaxing experience. The first time, it was good, but trying it out for the first time, it took me a while to quiet the mind. This time, knowing what to expect, I went into the pod with my earplugs in, left the blue light and the music on again, and quickly allowed myself to relax. An hour feels like the perfect amount; not too short, not too long. When you are done, there's a small area with tea for people to stay a bit and relax even more. Book online and give it a try! Floating on 900 pounds of Epsom salts is quite a treat!

We tried Floating for the first time at Float Milwaukee and everything was amazing! We had been here for a Yelp event recently and it was great to learn about it then and now be back for the actual Float itself. We checked in once we came to the reception. We signed a waiver with information electronically which was emailed to us for our records. And then soon after we were taken inside to our rooms and given instructions for the float. The rooms were kept very clean and everything you can think of that you can possibly need is available. They also have a getting-ready room for after with hair dryers and lotions and everything else that you can use after the Flot itself. I liked how the lids can completely close and it becomes completely dark. You have the option of having the light on inside the tank or even the lid open which gives everyone so much flexibility. For the first 10 mins, take your time to figure out things - what sound level, do you like the light or not, do you like the neck pillow, ear buds on or off and similarly lid closed or open. Once you find that sweet spot.. settle in and you won't even know where the hour went. A lot of people talk about falling asleep in the tank, but this wasn't the case for me. You do feel very relaxed and calm! Freshwater st is a busy street so I was super thrilled to fin d Float offering parking right across the street. This was an experience I highly recommend to everyone. Go for it!

The private open pool - A circular open pool with blue lighting is situated in a dark room, likely used for sensory deprivation therapy or relaxation.

Very relaxing! Nice staff! They provide liquid soap, shampoo, conditioner, ear plugs, loofa, vaseline, makeup remover, a shower scrunchie and towels. There is also a squirt bottle of fresh water in case you get salt in your eyes while you are in the spa. The air temperature, water temperature, and your body temperature are all nearly the same so it is very comfortable floating even if your skin is above the waterline. The water is approximately a foot deep and you will definitely float due to the amount of salt in the water. They also provide you with a floating ring for your head, but you don't have to use it because your face will be above the water regardless. You can float naked or with a swimsuit, but it is recommended to not have any stimuli and a swimsuit could interfere with tactile stimuli, therefore swimming naked is best. Also I'm unsure what the salts would do to a swimsuit. After the float I had a great reduction in pain for several days (mostly back pain for me) and my skin was incredibly soft. It is very relaxing and therapeutic. Definitely watch the recommended videos before you go so you know what to expect and how to use everything. Once you go into your private room, you are alone unless you press the call button for assistance on the intercom. There is an intercom button in the Float pool area itself if you have an emergency or need assistance. You have the option of being in total darkness or having the blue pool light on or even having the room lights on. They also have soft spa music which you can adjust the volume or turn off completely. There is ample parking either on the street or across the street in their parking lot. The business front door is locked and you call when you arrive and they open the door for you. It is very nice to have that sense of security.

Interesting experience. I definitely liked the float and found it extremely relaxing, however 1 hour for a first timer is quite long. Eventually that's all I could think about - how much time left? Both my friend and I (another newbie) thought 2-3 thirty minute packages for newbies would be a nice option to fully get used to it. I also liked having the pod open from time to time, however the room was quite chill so I would get cold easily and have to close the cover. Friendly staff, easy parking across the street, great hair products and lotion for when getting ready to head out and delicious tea to drink after.

Where do I even begin!! I didn't know Milwaukee had such a cool place to unwind, relax, and set your mind adrift. When we first got to Float everyone was so lovely!! They had spa shoes you put on when you first arrive and you fill out information on their iPads. This place was so organized and clean! The staff explained how it'll work, what to expect, and offered a place afterwards to freshen up. They had everything you needed from the beginning to the end. You were given wipes, towel, ear plugs, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash for before your float and after. Swimsuits aren't required because you get a private room to unwind and relax the way you'd like. When you're completely done with your session there's a room just for freshening up. They offered everything you need from ear cleaners to hair products, lotion, and hot hair styling materials such as blow dryers and irons! When you're in the float chamber you don't feel claustrophobic at all! There's so much space. You have the option for nice relaxing music or enjoying your float in complete silence. The staff suggested for your first float to try without music and to be in complete darkness. However, you do have the option to enjoy your float with a very low/dim light. We opted for the 60 minute session and was worth every minute. When you're in the float chamber your mind just goes adrift. You don't even realize you're in there for an hour. Time just passes you by but in a nice relaxing way. They have tons of salt in the chamber so you can't go under the water. They tell you when your session is over via the machine and it's a gradual process. You definitely feel relaxed and calm when you're done! I felt a bit tired afterwards for the rest of the day, wasn't too sure if that's how I should've felt but it was relaxing nevertheless. I would definitely want to try this again. Thanks Float for being so great from beginning to the end!!

I tried something new yesterday, an experience that came highly recommended. It turned out to be…read moresuch a remarkable experience that I think I need to share it. I spent an hour in a tank today. Huh? I stepped into a float tank where I experienced something called "flotation therapy." It's relaxation through sensory deprivation and believe me, it is relaxing. What is a float tank? Think of a shallow bathtub inside a phone booth. The tub is filled with water that is charged with Epsom salts. The salt content makes you buoyant so your body floats easily in ten inches of saltwater. I arrived early for my appointment because it was my first visit. There is paperwork to complete (electronically, welcome to the 21st Century) and I sat in the relaxation room to do so. The spa is a warm and welcoming atmosphere with friendly guides who explain everything you need to know about your service. I entered the therapy room and in a cozy area, I quickly undressed. I stepped into the shower and washed off the daily grind, then carefully stepped into the chamber. It is lit with soft, blue light and relaxing synthesized music plays softly. I switched off the light but since music is a major part of my life, I let it play. (If you prefer, you can shut it off or you can play your own music through your cell phone via cable connection.) The experience of floating in total darkness is weird at first, but it didn't take long before I could feel every muscle relax and let go. I could also clearly hear the music underwater when my ears slipped below the surface. (Optional earplugs are provided and no, my face was never near submersion.) I had no sense of time passing. In the dark, and it is very dark inside the chamber, I felt sensations of movement. The chamber is, of course, small so my fingers, toes and the top of my head sometimes contacted the edge of the tub but I felt a sensation of motion like I was floating in circles. If I had to compare it to something, I would say it felt the way I imagine it would feel to be an astronaut, floating around the International Space Station or a Gemini capsule. My mind was racing for about half of the session but in a good way. Eventually, I felt a sense of peace sweep over me. Others who have experienced floating say they actually fall asleep. I don't remember falling asleep, but I do remember being very relaxed and all sense of time was lost. When the time limit was reached, a white light gently illuminated the chamber, signaling that my time was up. I stepped into the shower and washed off the salt, then quickly dressed and returned to the lobby. For that 75 minutes, the world simply melted away and I was simply floating in space, in my own private universe. Afterward, I was totally relaxed and could understand how a strand of spaghetti feels. I look forward to my next session, too! If you feel like you want to try this unique relaxation therapy, send me a private message and I'll give you the pertinent details. It's a luxury you owe to yourself.

I did think it was early so turned both off, but they started again so I got out. When I was shampooing my hair I got a knock on the door that I still had time left to float. I was already warmed up in the shower so opted not to go back inside. They gave me 10$ offer because they said the music and lights were malfunctioning. Not the worst thing ever - stuff happens. But , when I first got to the location for my appt, I arrived to the address that was on Apple Maps (the same place I clicked where I initially booked the apt) it took me to the "wrong place" they informed me upon calling. I had walked to the location initially but then was informed the correct location was 5 miles away. I almost cancelled because I didn't want to start a spa moment on a negative foot. But I rallied and managed to make my way there by borrowing a friend's car, and there was zero acknowledgement of the call when I arrived. Not looking for a discount but at least a normal conversation! I chalked it up to them being new and still working out the kinks, but pretty sure this location is over 7 years old. At least put the correct address in your initial confirmation message with a warning to use google maps vs Apple Maps since it was clear they've had that discussion many times before. Alternatively, offer a great product that no one can argue.

I can credit Evolve for doing a good job with the consistency of the temperature. My body, the air, and the water were all within a degree or two. The tank was pretty quiet too. At first, it smelt like old gloves, but I guess I got used to it. My experience as relaxing and curiously like taking a nap. It was neat, but not like it was life changing. I can see why this has not really swept the nation. An hour is a good time. Evolve is no spa. Not even close. I would think I would have been just as comfortable if it was in some guys basement. The center is a business building in the middle of Waukesha. Parking is in back. The Easter Seals will call to give you a ticket if you do not park in the right spot. The Easter Seals are so annoying. Good cause, horribly ran organization. Evolve is set up it what appears to be an old rental office. Besides the tank, I am guessing everything else is from a garage sale and hardly sanitary. The shower is installed so no water hits below your waist. It is really small. Not classy at all. Leave your wallet purse in the car, because there is no place to lock anything. My biggest gripe was that the guy who was working really gave me grief about my Groupon. He made me get my phone and prove I bought it, because the print out I had "was unredeemable." He was not cool about it either. He wanted me to pay for it and dispute the purchase with Groupon. I probably would have picked a fought him if he would gave me any more grief. He did eventually take the Groupon off my phone. (I do not think this was the owner, I think it was just a kid hired to sit around and keep the place open.) All in all- I do not regret going. Evolve is the only float tank in town as far as I know. If I ever would go float again, I would go to a spa somewhere, for a better experience. The price was fair at Evolve with a Groupon, but they will not be able to stay open the way they are running the business now. It does not seem to be set up to cater to clean people. Hopefully they can get some more captital to clean up operation.

Shannon set up my appointment and greeted me when I first walked in. We spoke about how long I would go for. I changed into a robe, and slippers, in their beautiful changing room and I locked up my belongings in a locker. I entered the suite and was told about the ear plugs, which they had 2 different types. I preferred the blue ones which were attached to a string and went behind my neck. I liked that they fit inside my ear perfectly to block the water during my soak. Shannon directed me to shower prior to entering the tank. Right next to the tank is a stool that contained a small spray water bottle . This is to use, in case of salt getting into your eyes. You enter the tank completely naked. There is no reason to wear a swimsuit. The first thing I noticed was that my breathing seemed to change inside the tank. I didn't really think about it, but I also noticed that my lips were very dry as well. The temperature of the water was almost 96 degrees which is the temperature as the surface of my skin. I noticed that inside the tank seemed humid which made taking a breath difficult at first. I think it gave me a little anxiety. I was able to open up the door and as soon as I did that, I was fine. Right away I talked myself into calming down and I started to breath normally. I listened to wonderful soothing music and there were small twinkle lights right above in the ceiling. I completely calmed down and was able to close my eyes. I placed the blue halo behind my head to keep my head floating. It was very comfortable. I might have even drifted off to sleep. I got out of the tank, prior to my time being up. I took a quick shower to rinse off the epsom salts and washed my hair. I ended up soaking for 45 minutes which turned out to be just enough time. It went by quickly. The first benefit I noticed was how relaxed I felt. My migraine headache was gone and I felt amazing. also was extremely thirsty so Shannon gave me a bottle of water. I got dressed and blew my hair dry with the most amazing blow dryer. The blow dryer was something that might be used in a fancy salon. I loved it. Honestly I felt as though I was in a fancy spa. My experience was truly amazing and I will definitely be returning. My session was $55 for 45 minutes and was worth it. My body felt amazing.

Great convenient location. Clean facility and friendly staff... I'll be back sometime soon.read more

Time for a round of I like, I wish, I wonder! I had no idea what float therapy was before Yelp…read moreintroduced me to this business. I did some research to find that you go into 10" deep water that has 1000+ lbs of epsom salts in it. It's anti-gravity, so you float without effort. It's meant to be meditative, relieve anxiety, and assist in pain relief and improved sleep. You can float in a swimsuit or your birthday one (which helps increase the goal of sensory deprivation, as the swimsuit can take on a temperature different than your skin and the water temp). I like... the privacy of the rooms where you get your own float pod, shower (for before and after), shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and towels. The water temp is supposed to be 94F to match the temp of your skin, but at times, it felt a little cooler than that. Options in the pod to change the color of the light to any color of the rainbow, or shut it off completely, which I tried for the back half of my float! It did take a while to find the light switch at the end of the session, LOL. Option also to close the pod doors or leave them ajar. I closed mine after a few minutes. The prep room is available for use after you're done floating and showering. I used the hair dryer and leave in conditioner. The complimentary amenities are so nice, including hair ties, Q tips, deodorant, and individually wrapped brushes/combs! Afterwards, I had some ginger tea and tried out the oxygen room, where I got to sample the lavender orange one. I could have fallen asleep in there! I wish... I didn't bump into the sides of the pod as much as I did, LOL. I'm not even that tall. Can't imagine someone 6' or taller fitting into this, but I was told the pods are 7', and a former Bears player who's 6'9" made due. I wonder... how the long lasting benefits of float therapy can help me. It's supposed to lead to a good night's sleep, so I'm looking forward to that! I met Murphy upon my first arrival to True Rest. He was very pleasant and has owned the spa with his sister for the past 1.5 years. I spent over 2 hours there, and it was very relaxing! Felt like I was transported to another world. Next time, I'll be sure to spend a little time in the Oasis Room afterwards to journal or color in the adult coloring books. Can't wait to come back!

Very well organized and staffed float spa. Price $70 Rating 9/10…read more Pros: Kind and helpful staff. Calm and aesthetic interior, all the quality essentials provided you just need your swimwear. Cons: Hard to hide it was an office building but they did well.
