Amazing liquor store. Good selection of high end liquor and moderately priced stuff. Excellent high end tequila, Scotch, and Bourbon selections. I did also notice that they have 7 different wine categories ranging from chardonay to cabernet sauvignon. Tons of craft beers and beers from around the globe. I have been looking for blantons over the past two years, finally found it here, it was a bit more expensive but definetly worth it for me, i also picked up some japanese Sake which i enjoyed as well, the staff was knowledgable and helpful, thanks for the local chocalate guys, you will be seeing me again. I would give this place negative stars. Yes they have a wide range of liquor and some wine and beer. The problem is the prices... laughable! I work in the business and when I asked why a bottle of tequila that is typically $35-45 throughout the US was marked at $94 and a bottle of champagne typically marked at $22-35 was $90... don't even get me started on the $1000 whiskey.... He just LAUGHED. So I repeated to be clear and I asked if the number on the sticker was actually the price or some other marker on the product... that was when the real issue with this place began. The man child who is clearly thinking he is going to a club soon,as he is dressed like a wanna be tough boy but he actually appears to be a brittle twig. He stands up on a high level and wears the stretchy mesh shirt like child trying hard to look tough. I am 52 and he appears 25... good thing he didn't come down or he would have been sorry. Well stocked store with a very a hospitable owner named "Jim," I it's name was because I knew I would be writing a review because I was impressed with the service. Although I didn't come in to buy liquor although I did look around enough to know that pretty much whatever you need as far as liquor, beer or wine probably be found there. The reason I wandered in there is because I was looking for quarters, I'm staying in a hotel (I have a review written for that as well) and I needed to use the laundry facilities which took quarters. The hotel was out of quarters because there appears to be a change shortage across the country due to lack of business, the mints being closed (I checked on this) and an overall COVID-19/Chi-Com virus related supply chain issue. I also didn't have my mask with me. As far the quarters were concerned though he was very low on them he did give me three dollars worth so I wouldn't be able to at least have one wash cycle and one dryer cycle. Again although he had said that he really didn't have enough Jim was nice enough to park with the minimum amount that I would need. For my washing and drying needs. Regarding the mask, I immediately mentioned it when I walked in because he had a sign on the door I suppose so he could be in compliance. I asked if you could sell me one which a lot of stores are doing but he gave me one for free and said to not worry about it. He held up the box and allowed me to take mine out with my own hand. I like that. As I think about it, there was one purchase that I made there, a "Blu," brand "vape pen," reasonably priced, decent selection of these items. I will say it would be nice if there was a bigger selection of Vape stuff. It would be nice if he carried "Puff Bar," brand. I had some nice conversation with him about how much I like Wisconsin possibly even better than the great state of Pennsylvania that I defected to after being disgusted by New York and New Jersey. If you're reading this and you aren't sure what it is about Pennsylvania and Wisconsin that I like though I have distain for New York and New Jersey I don't really have time to explain it now, not that it would take that long. I think about 50% of the people reading this will know exactly why I don't like those cesspool states. Nevertheless I don't want to get political as it is, just like probably most of what I'm writing, it is irrelevant to this review. If i could give 0 stars i would. I come to Wisconsin for business a lot and always bring back spotted cow beer. I brought 2 12 packs to the register and the owner tried to charge me $73!!!! I said absolutely not I could get it cheaper at the airport. He tried to tell me all other beers are the $16.99 it should be but spotted cow was $35 for a 12 pack! We went in here and purchased a 12 pack of truly and a bottle of aspirin, and somehow, I have no clue house, it came out to $47.50. I didn't even realize it because I was paying with my credit card, and when I got back to the hotel, my wife looked and almost lost her mind. Listen I hope the owner of the store sees this post. The owner and his son are both really enjoyable people and I like supporting a business that is located downtown and close to my office. As someone who works downtown, Convenience Plus is my go-to stop for when I didn't pack enough in my lunch or I'm craving something we don't have to drink in the work fridge. It's right in the middle of downtown, so parking is almost always nonexistent. But, that's expected. I personally believe the store is based more for when people are already in the area - hence the convenience! Walking in, you kind of expect it to just be a liquor store, as that's the merchandise in front. They seem to have a good variety of higher-end alcohol, but I can't say I've ever bought any. The store is very clean and well put together. The prices are a tad high for all of the items, but not outrageous for being a convenience store. Again, though, I can only base that on my own purchases - usually candy and drinks, lol. My favorite part of the store is the owner. He is always there, and is - to my knowledge - the only employee. He is friendly, courteous, and keeps me returning to his store because of the small-town feel (versus the gas station convenience-vibe you tend to see). I have frequently seen him remembering regular customers (including me), which is a great feeling while working smack dab in the "big city". And, he occasionally offers a free chocolate to patrons. Score! I'll keep returning to Convenience Plus, and I recommend the same for my fellow downtown workers! read more
