If I could give zero stars I would! Completely rude pharmacist! My sons Rx needed clarification from the doctor and she refused to listen to how the doctor said she could be reached for clarification. So she made us wait 2 hours before my son was given his urgent medication. Will be moving our family to another pharmacy. read more

I would give this Walgreens PHARMACY a 0/5 if I could. I have not once had a good experience. The employees are incredibly rude and have terrible customer service. They do not care about time or efficiency. I have had to wait for over 45 minutes in their drive thru line several times and they never even acknowledge you until 20 minutes after waiting and they're rude when they finally do talk to you. Even when they call you to tell you your prescription is ready, it's NEVER actually ready when you get there. They always say they need 20 minutes more. I've been waiting for 50 minutes now. This is the WORST and most inconvenient pharmacy I have ever been to and would not recommend. Save your time and go to literally ANY other pharmacy. read more

8 days after my doctor called in a prescription it's still not here and every person in line (and there are many) has the same issue. This is the worst pharmacy I've ever had to use. I ended spending 3 hours here: one after showing up at opening time only to find a sign that said they will open late "this week" since they are short staffed, then 40 minutes in line, then "10 minutes" to wait in the prescription to be filled (that was actually over an hour while someone in the pharmacy who had my ID card called my insurance . She never once told me what was going on or what the problem was. I finally, after an hour, got someone else to get my ID card back so I could leave, without a prescription. I called my insurance company and they said Walgreens had t tried to process anything. I called the doc to move the prescription to a local RiteSid who said that the system showed that Walgreens filled it. After three hang ups and being on hold for an hour at Walgreens, they fixed that mistake . I think they were relieved to be rid of another customer. read more

This pharmacy has really gone downhill in the past year. Their whole system is screwed up. They text me a prescription is ready and when I go to pick it up they don't have it. They are often out of very simple meds and I get the feeling no one knows what's goin on....sort of like the White House. I'm moving on! read more

Pharmacy is great. I can't swallow pills and whenever possible they work with me to find alternate solutions. Love the drive through. Sometimes gets a bit crowded but that's not a service issue it's just the ebb and flow of customers. Always get my flu shot here. Much easier and less expensive than primary. Super fast. read more

Had to get a yellow fever vaccine for trip I'm taking. Cost was far less than travel clinics and they were willing to wait until I was ready. When I came for shot they noted I was over 65 and issued warnings for possible reactions. They required a doctor's authorization. All of this turned out to be very good as I did in fact get a hefty reaction to the vaccine. The pharmacy has called me daily to check on me and see how I am doing. They are making sure there is no worsening of symptoms. They also reported my reaction the the CDC. I was pleased and surprised by this level of follow up. I felt very well tracked and cared for for. I would give this place no stars if possible. Stupidly, I've been using this pharmacy for years and I'm so fed up with the pharmacy staff (the woman pharmacist who works evenings is the exception. I'm sorry she is even working with these incompetent people) that I felt compelled to leave a review. The techs have absolutely no customer service skills. This is the worst pharmacy I have ever had to deal with. For a start they usually do not have your prescriptions ready at the promised time. I went there for a flu shot today. They did not have the recommended shot for seniors ( I decided to take the regular shot as I am travelling tomorrow) and they told me I would have to wait about 30 minutes. I said I would run some errands and be back before 30 minutes were over. They said I had to by physically present in the pharmacy to wait for the shot. I could not believe my ears! I asked if there was any time of day when there was a better that I would not have to wait 30 minutes and was told it was always going to be like that no matter what time I came. If they are hiring staff to turn customers away they are doing a great job and I salute them. Called Safeway pharmacy and they said to come right over. read more

This is the worst pharmacy I've ever been to. I thought the 3rd st., San Rafael location was bad, but this one is even worse. I recently switched to this pharmacy because it was closer to where I live. They almost always take several days to fill a prescription even though it says it will be ready sooner. Sometimes it doesn't even get filled, it just says "pending" for days or weeks and I have to call to remind them to fill it. Calling and trying to speak to someone live is awful too, they end up putting me on hold over and over. The drive thru is a nightmare. I've only used the drive thru a couple times and both times I had to wait over 30 minutes. Several cars in front of me and when it was my turn I was ignored for a very long time. I used to use the Walgreens on Northgate in San Rafael and they are excellent compared to this Walgreens. As a matter of fact, I'm going to start using that one again, it's worth the drive and better than just sitting in my car waiting for who knows how long. read more

They're busy because despite horrible attitude by the pharmacy staff they're the only Walgreen store close by.

I never use the pharmacy but as another Yelp-er wrote, they have an oddly amazing selection of stuff you need, and stuff you can wrap up and give in a pinch. If you have a small child to buy a trinket for - just because - check out toys and kids' learning games and books. They're also well-stocked for every holiday. I've shopped here for years and picked up everything for Halloween. This Christmas their lights and wrapping and odds and ends beat anyplace else in Southern Marin. At a drug store? Go figure. Also their Walgreen's brand merch is fine and cheap. read more

The only thing that has kept my family using this pharmacy is the drive-through window and its nearby location. But as the percentage of unacceptable experiences (with the pharmacy department) climbs, I have concluded that shopping at this place is NOT worth the frustration. The staff in the pharmacy too often cannot follow set instructions, nor honor promised prescription schedules. After waiting in a line for 15 minutes, I am tired of being asked to come back later or come back tomorrow. It saddens me that this store has declined so dramatically over the past couple of years. First, the pharmacy staff was cut leading to interminable delays, even after being falsely alerted that Rx was ready. Next the previously helpful and courteous pharmacists became curt and surly (understandable I suppose given understaffing). Most recently the mismanagement has extended to the store itself, as I have found that I cannot find a single employee other than a cashier present on a week-end. On the last occasion this happened, the friendly cashier paged overhead for the help I needed(locked razor blades) but to no avail. He then quietly confirmed that morale is in the tank. One wonders if Walgreens monitors this or other public forums with similar reviews, for it would be nice for the local community if they would bring in new management to "right the ship". I've given up. It's so convenient to my home, on the way to and from work but the pharmacy is pathetic. I can't believe they get away with this crap! The auto prescription refill is a joke. It would work well if there was follow up. You call it in, they say it's ready next day and you go to pick it up and they failed to tell you that your insurance requires a wait of a few days to qualify for coverage. Or maybe they lost your prescription or forgot to call and let you know they are out of that particular medicine. What a waste of time. What a bunch of unprofessionals. They must have fallen asleep during the part of about customer service. Go elsewhere if you want to keep your sanity. I have to agree with the other reviews on here. They have a strangely complete selection of items for being a drugstore. You can get anything that you need and that's why it's often my first stop before a hike or when I come into town. Employees are friendly and able to provide help when needed. read more

Upon receiving my prescription, I was recommended to seek the pharmacist consult window to learn about taking this medication. Apparently it was a long day of a particular drug being administered to customers in which she assumed I was one of them. She gave me the instructions of how to take a dosage that was not mine. It was a good thing I paid attention to my own doctor as the information given was not pertinent. Then my partner went in a few days later, received the drug administration education and the finishing words from them was "good luck." Are you kidding me???? read more

Inefficient and unreliable. The pharmacy has gone gone downhill in the last year. My co-pay is less now so perhaps to be competitive they are paying staff less and hiring people who are not making an effort. Not sure why this has happened but I am likely to switch pharmacies. read more

Pharmacy staffs are great ! Everyone gives their best to serve customers in store and in the drive thru as quickly as they can. Some customers may have issues with their insurance but the staff are being very helpful in resolving high copay and not covered medications. Amidst their being short handed, under staffed, amidst the peak hours, I will give this pharmacy 5 stars for being courteous, helpful and fast service. Keep it up !!! read more

If I could give negative stars on the woman behind the counter at the pharmacy, I would. My husband and I walked in at about 5:45pm to get his prescriptions after he had just had surgery that day. The woman behind the counter was SO rude. I was supposed to pick up 4 prescriptions, she had 2. I gave her the list the nurse had just given me and asked if the others on the list were over-the-counter and she replied dryly, "I can't prescribe something just because you gave me a list." Yeah, no s*&^, Sherlock. I corrected her on my intentions of giving her the list (you can read them yourself this way and maybe if you understand better you can start breathing and talking like a real person!) and asked if she should contact the doctors office that sent them over to clarify and she stared at me blankly. (Sidenote: There was no line behind me at any point during this encounter). I asked what the typical difference was in dosages between the over-the-counter and prescription trying to gage whether or not I should call the doctor myself or just grab the over-the-counter and she said, "It varies." Again, no s*^%. I asked, "Can you tell me where to find the ones I need to get over-the-counter (i.e. can you see this guy next to me kind of out of it, I'd like to get out of here this century) and she blatantly ignored me. I turned on my heels to go find it myself and as I walked toward the isles in a huff I heard her ask my husband in an annoyed tone, "What did she ask me?" My husband came over and told me to just grab whatever and let's ring it up in the front because he seriously couldn't even be around her anymore. Given as a pharmacy is there to ask questions, help people, and get the correct medications to its patrons, I'd give this experience a zero out a five and advise they find another person to work at that counter. read more

Is there a negative one Star? The Walgreen's Card Renewal System was down. What ever that means? I wanted to get an RX and the woman behind the pharmacy counter was less than helpful. She shouldn't even work at a garbage dump. She was not meaner than a junk yard dog; She was "I could care less." So she told me I could pay full price for my RX. Then I was shocked at the price. So she told me I could buy have of the med but still at the full retail price! What the...... Another nice asst came and said: "You can have an advance for a day. When our card system is up we can give you all the meds. at the discounted price." My new insurance is Kaiser and I have not gone to their office or pharmacy! Ouch. I will be going because I do not think it is my fault their "system is down"; Hence, I have to pay for it? Bull$hit! Unacceptable. When people are sick they need help not this woman with an attitude!!! And sometimes the line is around the block for the drive up! Awful!!!! read more

Good grief this place is lame. I've been filling my prescriptions here for years and it is really getting worse and worse. I went in to pick up two prescriptions. One was unavailable (they neglected to tell me it needed prior approval from my insurance company or to call my doctor to obtain such authorization). One had been filled but had gone AWOL. I literally stood at the counter with a rapidly growing line behind me while the person at the front desk, who did not appear to be a regular employee, searched in every alphabetized bin on their shelf, twice. Are you kidding me? I've never seen somebody do this before. It was like she knew that it was not there. Are you so desperate for a controlled medicine that you have to rip off somebody's prescription? Or maybe it was the other pharmacy worker who was so red in the face I thought she was going to burst a vessel in front of me? She looked like she could use some antidepressants. The inept clerk searched every cabinet and shelf in the pharmacy over and over again. I finally said, why don't you ask the pharmacist, who was standing right there filling prescriptions the whole time and acting like she hadn't noticed the Great Prescription Hunt taking place right next to her. Her response, after checking her system? "This is not good." No kidding. The counter person filled the prescription again while I was there. Are they even allowed to do that? I thought only the pharmacist could access the medications. Called today about the other prescription. They still had not contacted my doctor or my insurance company to get authorization. They had not contacted me. I told them this was unacceptable and I was completely out of the medication. Fifteen minutes later, I received an automated message saying that my prescription had been "delayed" and they would contact me when it was ready. Okay, I give up. I will move my prescriptions to another pharmacy. FFS. read more

The store is fine but it's the worst pharmacy I've ever been to. They're always calling the wrong doctor for refills. They call the dermatologist for my asthma meds, and vice versa. They never tell you when your filling your last refill, or the prescription is about to expire. They've given us the wrong drugs TWICE, once they gave me an antidepressant instead of my Zyrtec!!! Their auto-dailer is always calling to tell us our prescriptions are ready, and they aren't. Plus, I don't find them to be very pleasant. read more

He then helped set it up to fit me, while giving me a chair to sit in, in order to get off my crutches (The same crutches I also purchased there the week before.) But after waiting in a over-long check-out line, they refused to honor it, refering to the small print that a Walgreen's card was needed (which requires a phone number so they can spam you). This is a review strictly for the pharmacy, which is the worst I have ever been to. The prices are outrageous. (Go to Costco, if you can. You'll save so much money.) The staff is extremely rude, dismissive and condescending. (Again, I recommend traveling to Costco, as the pharmacy staff there is respectful, courteous and informative.) Whether they like it or not, the Mill Valley Walgreens pharmacy staff is in a customer service-oriented industry. As such, they should treat customers with respect and dignity -- particularly since many of their customers are sick. read more

So, usually I am very happy with the service at this Walgreen's pharmacy. However, tonight was a much different experience. The pharmacy hours indicate they close at 9:00pm. I arrived at 8:58, a little late I realize, but thought that they would process my order as I was still within the time frame of their 'open' hours. The girl at the pharmacy window told me I was too late, as she had already closed their drawers and told me I was already a few minutes past 9:00, which was false. She told me that I could go to the 24 hour Walgreens in downtown San Rafael instead, which is obviously incredibly out of the way and beyond inconvenient considering it's already 9pm and I am on other end of the County. I would normally never complain about this, but I have a flight to catch tomorrow morning (which I told her), and would not be able to come in the following morning. So basically b/c of her complete laziness, I will not be able to take my scheduled medication for the next several days since apparently she needs to go home five minutes early. Instead of asking for her manager, which I should have done, I drove off really upset and crying in my car. I work in the healthcare industry and know how important it is for patients to have their needs meet. She clearly doesn't care b/c taking the extra few minutes to count meds is beyond what is in her job description. I am totally disappointed with this Walgreen's tonight. read more
