This Walgreens is astonishingly understaffed. The entire experience of being in the store is painful because of it. God forbid you need something a staff member has to unlock with a key. Worst Walgreens I have ever been to. This is my story on trying to get one prescription filled: Attempt 1: My doctor send the prescription over, the pharmacy's automated system calls to tell me it's ready. I go to the Walgreens and they tell me the prescription is actually not ready to please come by in one hour. Ok... Attempt 2: I come back the next day and they have 1/3 of my prescription ready. They ask me to then come back another day for the remaining 2/3 of the prescription. Attempt 3: I come by the Walgreens three days later after I get another automated call saying my prescription is ready but of course life isn't that easy. The pharmacist tells me it's actually not ready and still has to be dispensed. They ask me to come back in 1 hour. I leave. Attempt 4: A few days pass as I am out of town until I get a call from Walgreens asking me when I will be passing by to pick up my prescription as it has been about a week. I tell them I have been busy but I will come by in the next couple of days. They say no problem we will hold it. I come by the next morning at 9am... NO prescription! They tell me they are out and will have to order it. Seriously?! Attempt 5: I'll try again today after work. Please pray for me. Long story short: don't ever go here for prescriptions. read more

This Walgreens is very convenient because it's open 24 hours. So if you run out of, um, family planning supplies at 1 am, you know where to find them. Plus, they have a drive-through pharmacy window, with a pharmacy counter staff person dedicated to drive-through customers. (I've never used the service, but it seems like it may be pretty useful.) Disadvantages: Always a line. No matter how simple you think your purchase will be (just getting a pack of batteries or some chewing gum?), you WILL be in there for at least 20 minutes. They really need to hire more staff for the front checkout. Also, their medication prices could be lower. I recently compared prices for an antibiotic and a cream from the dermatologist without insurance coverage. This cost at this Walgreens would have been less than at the CVS on SW 27th Ave and at Navarro, but Costco still beat all of them by a lot. They do offer a membership for $20 (I think it's an annual fee) that provides 10% off purchases in the store and large discounts from the pharmacy. read more

This is the worst pharmacy I have ever been to. I have NEVER visited here without leaving in complete frustration. All the reviews about the pharmacy being painfully slow are true- there is always about a 30 minute wait just to speak to someone. Don't even try the drive-thru. There was also one incident when I went to pick up my prescription, and the woman had it on the counter, but told me she could not give it to me because she didn't know the price. I was confused..the price is printed on the package. She said "the system isn't registering it so I don't know." And put it back on the shelf. She told me to "try again another day" ....seriously? I enjoy the convenience of it being opened 24hrs. There's been many nights I've been sick & just drive over to pick up what I need. Very friendly staff. I can usually find what I need. It's pretty organized & clean. The have tons of parking which is great. They have a redbox right outside. Convient for my sick nights. The only upside is that from time to time it can get a bit packed & not enough registers open. But the cashiers really try to be speedy. My favorite neighborhood pharmacy. read more

Unguarded contraception! Why do so many places in Miami have their family planning behind lock and key, guarded by the dead eyes of a clerk who probably hasn't had the need for contraception in years? Sometimes, I like to be able to browse the inventory without feeling the pressure to act fast. Maybe there's a new technology that I'm not willing to just impulsively jump into. I wonder how many babies have been conceived because someone was too shy to ask ... Second, I like the location of the Walgreens because I am able to cut through their parking lot to turn left onto Coral Way in case I forget that I'm on 2nd ave and can't turn left at the end. Meh. Came for nail polish. They only had 6 or so shades of Essie in stock. Slim pickings when the display was able to hold several dozen. I walked around for 15 mins looking for a specific medication and finally found it in the least likely place, and no one offered me help in finding it. read more

Worst pharmacy I have ever been to. They are unreliable and not knowledgeable with their own system. They had not had my prescriptions covered simply because they did not enter my name correctly so the insurance obviously did not recognize the name. Second, they put the wrong prescription through on a different occasion and told me my insurance won't cover it and I had to pay almost $200 out of pocket. When I called my insurance, they told me it was most definitely covered under my plan and my copay was just $10. This staff needs to have proper training and not just hire any random Joe that doesn't do the job right and cause all sorts of inconveniences to the patients. Luckily, the Walgreens down the street on Lejeune and 8th street, knows what they're doing and I can go there instead. This is by far the worst Walgreens pharmacy!! 35/Coral way! read more

My family uses this Walgreens because it's close but I don't recommend it. We constantly are given other people's prescription and wrong medication and dosage. They are not rude nor mean but just incompetent . Or simply don't care, just work for money not devotion. We tried the delivery service because my parents are in their 80s and we live across the street. The delivery driver couldn't find the address right across the street and today we all have GPS on our cells. So the meds weren't delivered and thrown in the back. Never, were we told that they couldn't deliver. My mom was without meds for a week thinking they were late on delivery. Today she went to the store and after much arguing it was found in the back. Over 12 meds that were due a week ago. The customer service is not given nor do they care. Where is the well paid supervisor???? I guess getting paid for nothing. Time to switch to CVS. read more

I've always gone to CVS, but lately I've been shopping at Walgreens. The items that I purchase are so much cheaper there than at CVS, and they seem to have better deals. The Pharmacy also has a great program for those who do not have health insurance. You pay, if my memory serves me right $20.00 a year, and you get a good percentage off your prescriptions. How do you go to a Walgreens where the pharmacists doesn't know how to read a prescription?!? I dropped off a prescription for my daughter and 3 hours later when I went to pick it up they said they could not fill it because the Dr. Didn't write the amount of days it should be taken. They tried to call the Dr. But couldn't get ahold of them. I took the prescription and looked at it while I was sitting in the car. I thought I read 5 days, but I'm not the expert here. I took the prescription to another Walgreens. They filled it in 10 minutes. They pharmacist pointed out where it said "5 days". I'm still upset. A pharmacist who can not read a prescription is not only an idiot, but also a danger. I can go on and on about the other problems with this place. The wait time, loosing prescriptions, quoting wrong co-pay, lack of caring staff. The list goes on. They are not properly performing their jobs. I come here only when I have no choice. The cashiers are slow. Almost none of them speak English. I've picked up prescriptions here as well, and it's a piece of sh** whether I go through the drive-through or indoors. The pharmacy staff is overworked. When I called to check there was not info about my prescription---my Dr office called again two days later and still not prescription------was told by tech to speak to pharmacists---when I'm put on hold they hang up ---twice!!!! This has been my go to pharmacy for the last few years since I live nearby. It's been okay for most of the things I need, and pharmacy has been seriously understaffed, and the wait lines can be ridiculous especially after 5pm and at noon. But I tried to go at times when I could avoid the crowds. What got me to write this review Is their drive thru service. I had my sick baby asleep in the car so I had to go with the drive thru option, which I usually avoid. I was given the prescription meds, then I asked the associate for an infant Tylenol to add as well. He said he couldn't do that. I mean, what is a drive thru pharmacy for, if I can't get the meds I need when I cannot go inside the pharmacy...??? Tylenol! i asked for f*ing Tylenol. Not something fancy rare medication. Shame on you Logan - (that's what his name is) for not doing your job. Now I'm gonna have to go back later and shlep around my sick baby just to get Tylenol. Exactly what I was trying to avoid. Photo dept is always off on color. I've had to get reprints almost every time in the last 6-8 months. Then their machine breaks and you have to wait days to get your pictures. The manager is nice but the photo dept has no clue. read more

Absolute worst pharmacy experience I've had in my entire life. I've tried to give these guys a chance for the sake of convenience but I'm completely fed up with the incompetency of the pharmaceutical staff. I had to pay out of pocket for a prescription that was 100% covered but that the staff "could not find coverage for" to then have my insurance call them and request my refund. Worst Pharmacy ever! First they told me they did not have my prescription. Although the lady who was helping me did not speak a word of English and could not even say my name or phone number correctly when searching. So I called the Dr.'s office and they said it's definitely there. So I asked again 10 minutes later to someone else and they found it. They said it will be ready in a few minutes. It was an hour and a half before I finally got it. I had to ask the status of it 6 times before they finally decided to take care of it. I also needed an over the counter pill from the locked case on the floor, which is right next to the pharmacy, yet the pharmacy did not have the key. They paged someone else. I stood in front of the case for 20 minutes. No one showed up so I left without the pills. Never coming back here. A pharmacy is one place where there is no room for negligence. read more

Do not go to this location...horrible service! This was my first time at a Walgreens as I normally shop at CVS but had to visit this store because they had a drive through and my sick 11 month old was asleep in the car. I had to fill a prescription for amoxicillin for my daughter and the spanish female clerk gave me an attitude because I needed it filled immediately. I waited the 15 minutes for the prescription and when I picked it up the syringe to give my daughter the medicine was missing. I asked her for one and she said they don't have one and it's been months since they have had any in stock. I then said "how am I going to give her the medicine" and she told me that I can buy one in the store. I asked her if she could please get it for me as my sick daughter was sleeping and I didn't want to wake her up. She said no because it was against store policy. So I wake my daughter up and go in the store and see that they don't have any syringes to purchase! So I had to go to the pharmacy where a pharmacist finally gave me one that he found. Fast forward 9 days later and I see that they didn't give me enough medicine to complete the dose prescribed. The Spanish male clerk looked at the label and told me it was enough. I opened it to show him he was wrong and with an attitude said that I had to talk to the pharmacy manager. Jorge (the pharmacy manager) is the only saving grace from my experience as he actually apologized for the trouble and gave me the medicine. This place is so freaking slow! I live nearby which is the ONLY reason I have returned here the few times I have. I walked in yesterday around 2 or 3PM (not a particularly busy time) and it took me about 1hr just to reload a prepaid gift card. I waited in line for the cashier, and of course the cashier had no idea how to help me or spoke english. So I decided to waited in line at the photo checkout. I explained to the cashier I needed to reload a card. Instead of saying "wait a sec", "I don't know how to process this", or ANY type of response, she just walked away and decided taking out the trash was more important than helping a rather angry customer. I waited thinking maybe after she's done cleaning her area I can get some service. I continue to be ignored and asked another employee who had been standing around the photo center for about 20mins doing absolutely nothing if possibly she can help me. She just noded and acted as if she didn't understand me. I was continued to be ignored. Her manager who was close by handling a different customer complaint snapped at me saying "I need a minute ma'am you will have to wait your turn." I would like to point out, I could clearly see he was with another customer which is why I never even asked him for anything! I asked the employee who was standing around doing nothing. A long line started to form at the photo center and we still have the same lady standing around and the other moving papers around by the copier. I got mad and walked off at this point since nobody was helping and even the manger had a bad attitude. I went back to the register stressing I needed to put money on this card and she so kindly walked me over the the Beauty register for someone to help me. (most help I received at this point) I waited here another 20 mins or so after the cashier paged someone to the register about 6-8 times. Finally I was able to have my simple card reloaded. I live walking distance from this place and I refuse to ever return because it is the same thing every single time I go in there. I have my prescriptions filled at an inconvenient location just to avoid the horrible service I get here. However, nice courteous ladies working like animals trying to go from one customer to the other, getting prescriptions, taking names, tending drive through, picking the phone, come back later.
