This is a well organized, bright, and very clean store. The gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and he warmly let us know that he was happy to help us if we needed anything. I found their selection to be good and I was able to acquire everything that I was looking for. I especially liked that there was a small selection of fresh vegetables at decent prices...good for a quick stop. They had really good ginger that was not moldy or old like at some places. My daughter was happy that they had the mango kulfi pops (among other flavors). The location is convenient, there's a great selection, and genuinely friendly service, so we will definitely be back for more.

I went to them to ask if my Insurance card would be accepted for the payment, since their store was listed as accepting it. They knew right away what I meant and it was reassuring. FSA cards and such don't always work as easily as the companies say that they will. This one didn't even seem to be an FSA card but the insurance company was saying that I could buy gifts and food and more. In any case, I looked over the whole store, minus two or three aisles with make up and such. I scanned the Nature Made vitamins and those were accepted. I was surprised, as that brand is usually the best in stores, and the most expensive. As I went to the cash register, it was quiet. The cashier, who I've met in the past from the other side of the counter, was friendly and helpful. She mentioned that one of them seemed to be BOGO and I went back to get another. Signing up for the store rewards got me an instant $4.00 off. I got four bottles and one was free with the other deal. They accepted the insurance card and I still have over $20 available on that.

Today, as Manteca's Indian community has grown, so has India Merchandise and its selection. Walking into their large store, one will find a veritable gold mine of imported foods, spices, household products, ready-to-make meals, fabrics, and more. Specializing in Northern Indian goods (especially Punjabi), this is definitely a gem for area's thriving Indian community (as well as non-Indians!) In addition, the lady who is usually there every day has always been really sweet and friendly. Since I am not Indian, she always assumes I am unfamiliar with the products and offers assistance to find what I need, not in a condescending "you-don't-know-what-you're-doing" way, but in a polite, helpful way. You can surely find any Indian product you need here (and many other Asian and American products as well). I definitely recommend stopping by and checking out what they have to offer.
