This must be the worst Walgreens. The lines are always long and prescriptions are never ready the time it stated it would be. .

The second place said the person who works the camera was on lunch. The third place was very confussing, I asked a lady and she said she didn't know and walked away. Someone else said that they don't know where the person who works in the photo department is. So I called this place before I wasted my time. The lady who answered the phone was just very rude. I asked if their camera was working and if I was able to take my passport photo. The lasy said, "yea" but I was not sure if she said yeah or nah. So I asked, "Was that a yes or a no?" Her responce with attitude still was, "YES it is working" That's why I knocked down one star. The guy who took my picture was really nice and within minutes it was all done. No more then 5 minutes it was all over. 4 stars to the guy, sorry I didn't get your name who took my passport photo.

As soon as I handed it to the pharmacist, her first response was, "It's Monday. I'm very busy." She seemed visibly annoyed that I had brought in a paper prescription. She then said, "I have prescriptions to fill and I'm giving vaccines, so it's going to be at least 24 hours." When I asked if there was any chance it could be filled sooner because it was an emergency, she showed absolutely no empathy. She also said, "I have to call your veterinarian because the name on the prescription doesn't match the doctor who signed it." I transferred the prescription to the CVS inside Target on Hesperian Boulevard. They simply said, "No problem," accepted the same veterinary prescription without questioning it, and had it filled in about 30 minutes. The delay wasn't the problem. It was the lack of compassion, the rude attitude, and the completely different experience I had at another pharmacy with the exact same prescription.

I went to pick it up on Wednesday, only to be told it wasn't ready yet. When I explained that I had already called it in on Sunday, the employee initially said she didn't see anything in the system and told me to come back the next day. After I reminded her again that I had called in, she suddenly "found" it and told me to come back in 2 hours and that I would receive a text message when it was ready. I never received the text message they promised. I returned on Friday, and once again they couldn't locate my prescription. After more searching, they finally found it -- but they also tried to give me someone else's order at the same time. I had to explain that I only had one prescription and asked them to verify it using my phone number, not just my last name. The entire experience was very unprofessional, disorganized, and frustrating. On top of that, the drive-thru wait was over 20 minutes. For something as important as prescriptions, accuracy and communication should be a priority. This pharmacy seriously needs to improve its customer service and organization.

This used to be 24 hrs back in the day, but those days are behind us. Their hours are still pretty generous tho like 7 am to 11 pm. If I do venture in here, I'll try and do it early am like 9am as to avoid most of the crowd and chaos. I usually stay away from any food shopping here, unless there is a sale up front like bananas or juice that I can quickly grab without going down a food aisle. There's no meat counter/section here but there are reach in fridges with some prepackaged stuff. And because this is Union City, I amusingly find Filipino products here that I'm sure aren't at other locations. I usually come here for big bags of charcoal. They have a great selection from briquets to natural mesquite to pellets. They are all in the gardening section on a massive rack. And they will be at a price that is better than most, which Walmart is actually beneficial for. I'll also grab outdoor/work clothes here. For those occasions when I'm planning on getting clothes wrecked like for camping/working in the yard/home improvement projects. The nature of the store is evolving, in that more and more things are locked up. Which is a sad commentary on our society actually. Socks, belts, even toothpaste can be locked up, and to find someone to open a case up is usually more cumbersome than it has to be. Which is why 1-2 times a year for a few specific things is more than enough for me. See ya after Labor Day when my dual bag of charcoal needs to be replenished.

The result is periodically very slow service with long lines and wait times. CVS has also purposely made reaching pharmacy staff by phone difficult, and the CVS app is notoriously glitchy, all of which compounds the service problem. I don't have a Yelp account, so I'm using my wife's just to write this. I've honestly never felt…read morethe need to leave a review before, but I am beyond disappointed. I used to come to this CVS all the time, and now I barely come in anymore except when I absolutely have to. Ever since the new manager took over, this store has gone downhill fast. About a month ago in May, my wife and I were looking for an abdominal support brace. I asked a young man in a red CVS shirt, and he had no idea what I was talking about and told me they didn't even sell it. I then asked another employee I recognized, and he immediately apologized and walked me right over to the exact item. I told him they really need to make sure the new employees are trained properly. That's when he told me HE was the manager. I was honestly shocked. The previous manager I remember was a short Asian woman, and she was always present, always helpful, and always working alongside the staff with a smile. I have not seen anything close to that kind of leadership since she left. I went back a couple days later to try and speak with the manager about what happened, and of course I was told he wasn't there. At 11 AM. I keep hearing he "works at multiple stores" and is "very busy," but that is not an excuse to be completely unavailable to your own customers. Customer service should mean the customer actually matters. The staffing situation has also gotten noticeably worse. This store used to have three or four employees working in the evenings. Now there are only two during peak hours when everyone is getting off work. On top of that, I barely see the regular long-time employees anymore. That's really disappointing because I used to rely on familiar, knowledgeable staff. There is nothing wrong with hiring new employees, but they need actual training, that clearly is not happening. I've had multiple situations where employees didn't even know basics. I tried to buy alcohol and was told by a girl they couldn't carry or even ring it up. I was trying to buy champagne for my daughter's graduation, and instead I was basically stuck needing to find someone else while staring at a line of about 15 people. I ended up just leaving, completely frustrated. The front checkout area is another mess. The older woman working there is very kind and I do enjoy speaking with her, but she spends so much time chatting with customers that the line builds up while other employees are clearly overworked. With how busy it gets, there should be more cashiers and staff. At this point, I don't even bother coming in after 4 PM anymore because the wait times and lack of help are just ridiculous. Recently I stopped in to pick up my wife's medication and saw one employee running two registers while another cashier was just trying to keep up with customers. That is ridiculous! Another issue is employee health. I've seen staff working while clearly sick, coughing and sniffling. That makes me uncomfortable. If employees are sick, they should be sent home, and management should be prepared to cover shifts properly. I did notice one employee wearing a mask, which I appreciated, but it still shouldn't be happening in the first place. One of the more disgusting things I overheard heard was the manager, on the one occasion I actually saw him, telling employees as he was leaving to make sure they ask customers for "10s" on surveys. That immediately made me question how honest those ratings even are. I brought it up to a young blonde employee and she said that's exactly what she was told to do. When I said it didn't feel right, she apologized, but it's clear she's just following instructions. I've also noticed vagrants outside the store asking for money and more theft happening inside and around the store. I know the store had issues before, but things feel noticeably worse now. It is sad to watch the store decline while the employees are left trying to handle everything with fewer people and less support. It's really frustrating. Overall, the new staff seems undertrained, the regular employees are barely around anymore, the store is understaffed in the evenings, the lines are constantly long, and the employees look completely overworked. It honestly feels like the store has lost all sense of customer service. The previous Asian woman manager was the complete opposite of what I'm seeing now. She was always present, always helping, working side by side with employees, and actually visible when customers needed assistance. That is what good management looks like. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect proper training, enough staff, basic organization, and a manager who is actually there for customers. Right now, this store is nowhere near that, and I am extremely disappointed to say I no longer feel like a regular customer here. The new manager is an absolute joke.
