I had a great experience here on Friday 12/16/2022. Great to be back in Gurnee. I haven't been to this Walgreens in many years, and it was cool to see it is still great. Shout-out to both Eddie and John. I found the Panini World Cup stickers box I was looking for, and even pulled a Lionel Messi in the very first pack I opened. Incredibly slow drive thru! They need to start getting people moving in the line! Ridiculous!

I am complaining to your pharmacy at 7501, Grand Ave, Gurnee,IL, about the delay in the delivery of my medicines. I take 3 medicines that I have to use together due to diabetes. Atorvastatin 40 mg tablets, Synjardy, and Freestyle Liber 3 sensor. I have to go to the pharmacy 3 times to deliver each medicine. If they have to use these 3 medicines together and this problem continues for 5 months. If you do not solve this problem, I will go to court. read more

Regarding the pharmacy, I'm baffled how out of 15 meds approved by the Dr, the same drug that helps prevents strokes, hardly ever makes it back with the other meds!!!! It's the most expensive pill I get, that can't be the reason it's being missed. Three people from the Drs office say it was sent back approvEd on such n such a day. Two people from the pharmacy say, nope never got it! This happens every month! So, the 2 computers are not communicating on the same 1 drug. I get, we're sending it & and no he's not sending it back, 6 phone calls. Sometimes dr sends it back alone, & I get nothing! A cashier said their system needs updating. That kind of makes sense rather than anything unethical! This is the pharmacy I switched to! read more

This Walgreens location is very conveniently located right off of Grand Avenue across the street from the Fifth Third Bank. The reason for three stars is that today was the third time I used this location to send money by Western Union and their computers work really slow. It takes a really long time to load every page and every step of the process which is really annoying and wastes a lot of time. I wish they improved the system to make it work faster. I'm not asking for it to support high definition video games but at least make regular information pages load fast. read more

Just a little, almost imperceptably nicer than the Walgreens on Grand and 21 and with a Minute Clinic, I've come here often enough for work physicals and sometimes to get a prescription filled they can't nearer to home. The offerings are nearly identical, and the clientele has a 15% better cash flow than the one in my neighborhood, judging by the cars in the lot. I like that Walgreens tracks my purchases there now and every so often gives me $5 off a purchase when I've accumulated enough points. Now if they could get their card readers to take cards with chips and Samsung pay, we'd be in faster business. All in all, this place is worth coming back to. read more

This is based solely on the clinic side of the business. What a hot mess! I checked in at 9:04 am with one ahead of me. I didn't get out until 11:00 am. Nothing but waiting. Something in the process appears to be broken. Go to a Dr. folks, not worth the aggravation. Everything else in Walgreens is A+. Clinic . . . never again! read more

They have a take care health clinic here which is great! The problem that I had came from the assistance, or lack of it, in the pharmacy. I went there with my daughter for an ear infection check. The nurse practitioner prescribed an anti-biotic and let me know that it would be about ten minutes and to check with the pharmacy if they hadn't called me after ten minutes. So ten minutes passed and I went up to check, I was told that there was an issue with my prescription (they didn't have our insurance on file), I let them know that I was going to self pay and then she walked away. I then asked how long she thought it would be and was met with the answer "Its hard to tell". This may have been fine, if I hadn't witnessed them standing around and complaining about how their hours had been cut. In fact after I asked my final question they just continued talking about how their hours were cut. They should be careful or they will be cut right out of a job. ***Update, When I finally took my prescription to another pharmacy (CVS) the pharmacist asked why my daughters dosage was so high. I should have taken this as a clue as about three days later we were in the ER with an allergic reaction. The doctor on call said that this could have been triggered by the overdose of the antibiotic.*** Downgrade to one star.... I would give none if possible. read more

When I found the listing for this location and noted the content of the first review in 2010, I had to double check the address on my prescription bottle to affirm that I was about to post a review for the same location. This is it ... but in another way, this is not the same location, at least in terms of what I have experienced. I have been a customer at/of this location for about as long as it has been open, with the exception of an 9.5 month 'sabbatical', the result of Walgreen's and Express Script's inability to compromise and therefore, renew their contract. I went to CVS during that time, and I can say without hesitation that I am very happy to return. The Pharmacists at this location are accessible, friendly, helpful, informative and very dependable, and their Pharmacy Technicians all share the same attributes. I have never encountered a situation in which I was ignored or mistreated by a Pharmacist or by a Pharm Tech. In fact, it has been quite the opposite. They greet me by name, ask how I am, and wait to hear my reply. If Pharm Techs are occupied and a Pharmacist may be between filling prescriptions, she will come to the counter to accept prescription order drop offs and subsequently offer an estimate of when prescriptions will be filled, answer customer queries, or distribute filled prescriptions and checkout customers; anything to tend to customers' needs. If everyone is occupied and unable to tend to a customer upon approach, someone at very least will acknowledge that customer, and offer assurance that he or she will be tended to very shortly. If it is still too busy and delay continues (a rarity), a call for assistance is put out over the PA, and help from elsewhere in the store arrives within a couple of minutes. The retail area to this store is always well-stocked and orderly, and floor employees, Stockers and Store Managers included, are happy to assist, and even will escort you to where a sought product is located. Cosmetic and Photo Counter personnel and Cashiers are professional and pleasant. This location is perhaps one of the best run retail stores that we patronize, drugstore and otherwise. read more

I have to admit that I haven't always been happy with the service that I've received at this particular pharmacy, but now they have one pharmacy technician that has really made a difference, and deserves some recognition. He is a young man named Tracey that is just ALWAYS is such a happy, joyful mood! Greeting customers with a beautiful smile, and keeping his cool even when the walk up counter and drive thru are both swamped. Customers aren't always as pleasant as they should be, so I know this isn't always an easy task. Tracey is professional, knowledgeable, and very pleasant. It's a pleasure to see him behind the counter because I know that he will always do his best to help whenever I have a problem. Excellent job Tracey! read more

I was in this Walgreens this evening and witnessed a customer completely disrespect and talk down to a cashier because an item was out of place. The customer could not have been more rude but Andi, the cashier, maintained her professionalism throughout the interaction. I personally would have lost it on the customer. Other customers in line were even commenting on how rude she was being. I applaud Andi and how she handled the situation. read more

Scheduled an appointment online for minute clinic for 11:00 and would not see me because there was an error with the date of birth. Instead of being able to show them my ID with the correct DOB they made me wait while someone without an appointment go ahead of me. Still waiting to be seen. read more

I must say the women working at this clinic are amazing! They have the patience of a saint to deal with what I witnessed today. I was shopping for a few items near the clinic and overheard a very rude patient screaming and threatening the ladies working in the clinic. Kudos to them for keeping their cool! read more

Their clinic is AWFUL. No one there to assist. Just a sign saying no more patients today. I understand being booked. What I don't understand is the complete lack of caring and customer service. Would it be that hard to help those who are new to the clinic and SICK? Maybe help us find another Walgreens that could take us? I got nothing but a death stare from one of the people when I asked if the sign was right that early in the day. They will never see me again. CVS saved the day and restored my faith in humanity. I'm writing specifically to comment on the pharmacy department, though I will comment on the store in general as well. About the pharmacy--the pharmacy assistants are what have kept me coming to this Walgreen's for 15 years. No only are they friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, they go the extra mile for their customers. One lady in particular, Gayle, has gone out of her way to help my family. She is always informing us of ways to save money, finding ways for prescriptions to be filled when insurance companies tie them up with endless questions, etc. One day my mother in law walked into the store disoriented. Gayle gave her water, made sure she was ok, and called me to pick her up. Later that evening Gayle called to check on my mom-in law to make sure she was all right. It is rare to find that kind of care in a a pharmacy any more. But the ladies at this Walgreen's get to know their customers, and I really appreciate that. They are professionals. Aside from the pharmacy, I find other workers there to be generally helpful, and the managers to be concerned with helping their customers. So why 4 stars and not 5? Prices are a bit high (except for nuts--they have great deals on them!), and I have occasionally encountered a complaining cashier. Also, it is a drug store, and to say it's as good as it gets? Well it would really have to stand out for that. But it does not seem run down or beat up as one reviewer wrote. The pharmacy department does stand out--I give them 5 stars. read more
