The Yelp reviewer that mentioned the woman that talks nasty to her employees is absolutely correct. I overheard a conversation out loud for the whole store to hear about an employee no showing and announcing out loud how this employee was to be written up and fired... On this Speedway trip I was heading to the Milwaukee area to catch the Red Bull event. It's conveniently located off the highway. I think the hidden gem of this place is the gas pumps behind the building. I even tried out the new Laredo Tacos that are replacing most of the Speedy Cafe's. Their breakfast tacos aren't bad but the quality compares to hotel breakfast food. I will say the shelves are stocked. Staff is sub par, bathrooms are fair. I'm a big fan of Speedways with Speedy cafes, though there are none close to where I live. The sandwiches you can custom order are legitimately delicious. Lots of slushee flavors. When I go to six flags I never eat there but stop here afterwards to eat, and they have seating inside. Also the chocolate chop cookies are so good, especially if you get a fresh, warm one. I usually get fair service here. I just go there for cigarettes mostly but the other day I was getting a pack for a friend as well who gave me a 10 dollar bill and I was paying with my debit card. I asked the male cashier if I could pay with both and he paused for a second and then said yes. Some don't understand what that means. So he rung me up and after I paid with the $10 he told me what my balance owed was but I didn't see it on any screen anywhere so after I paid I asked for a receipt and conveniently he said he was out of paper and I said I would wait for him to replace it and he rudely told me he couldn't at this time because there was a line behind me. I won't do that again. I checked my account later and I was charged for both packs of cigarettes and he obviously took the $10. They're cashier's are always rude to me except the older man, he must be the owner or manager. The store is always fully stocked and very nice looking unfortunately the staff doesn't match. So if you feel like giving your cash away to the cashier's then pay in cash, I'm not the only review that has complained about this. ****scam alert**** When you ask for $25 on a pump the morning shift girl will only add $20 on the pump and pocket your money. She says the money will go back on your card but it doesn't! This has happened twice with the same girl! Learned my lesson but others must watch out! read more

Since the management changed in this store is always dirty. The one manager with the blonde hair speaks nasty to the employees. It just seems like the new management does not care. They should bring back the other managers. They cared and it was more pleasant shopping there before. The employees are great its the new management that is terrible. read more

Absolutely disgusting bathrooms. Toilet paper holders are broken so the rolls are laying around on the floor. No soap and something has been spilled down the door of the women's bathroom. To make matters worse, I was standing at the register when a voice came over reminding the staff to clean for covid and the girls behind the register laughed. All the gas pumps have bags on them saying the pumps are out of service, so much for a gas station. Extremely disappointed.

Because of the proximity to 94 and Six Flags on Grand Avenue, this place gets pretty busy. Accessibility can be tricky off Dilley's road across from McDonald's with all of the traffic funneled from the businesses to the west. If you're coming from the east, sometimes you have to wait just to cross the traffic to get into the station. I like the place because the prices are among the lower ones around (but not the lowest) and it's super convenient for me. Nevermind that sometimes all of the pumps are filled and you have to wait to fill up! I don't really shop here for much, but I've found it's an adequate place for jerky when I get that craving, hot dogs, drinks, washer fluid and even okay prices on mulch. They sell lottery tickets, too. The Speedy Rewards card is a great way to earn points for all of your purchases there. I've been using my card and accumulated enough points to basically pay for any small sundry item I might occasionally pick up. read more

Awesome place specially Adam the guy at the register, our car broke down in front of the gas station which is the hotel Super 8 they didn't let us stay because we weren't pay for a room even the manager denied us to park there because we weren't paying for a room but as soon as we parked in Speedway and spoke to Adam he let us park our truck there without a doubt thank you Adam for being so polite and to the store for teach your employees the right way to handle problems. Located right next to the interstate this gas station usually has some of the lowest prices around! The convenient local, clean facilities and good selection of gas stop goodies makes the Gurnee top list of gas stations for me! Sometimes if you drive a bit further west the prices drop anywhere from .05 to .10 but you have to question if that is worth the drive unless you are headed that way! read more

You need a bigger lot to accommodate the large volume of selfish pricks that grace your gas station.

OMG This is the absolutely best Service Station I have ever seen. You can buy freshly made burgers, sandwiches and tornados. Seriously - in a gas station!!! The food was fresh, made to order and really, really good. My son and I went two days in a row. The first time, we ate tornados - really tasty and hot, plus the drinks are pretty amazing too. I had a strawberry smoothie that tasted like strawberry. On the next day, I ordered a 6-inch sandwich with extra meat. I couldn't finish it - too much meat. It had just the right amount of sauce (I asked for honey mustard and ranch), the tomatoes were fresh and I wanted it toasted so they did. There were even places to eat inside. I made a strawberry, pina colada & coconut smoothie which gave me the biggest brain freeze ever - but it didn't stop me. Wish I had one of these places close to me cause I'd be there every weekend. So, if you're in the neighborhood and looking for something quick to eat, give them a try. Yes, it gets super busy with all the Great America traffic but I found a place. read more
