This Walgreens is always soooo slow. Looong wait in drive through And lots of mixups.

Back in July, 2025, I was pretty much home bound when my pain pump for spinal stenosis quit working. I'd called in a prescription for a pain medication & asked it be delivered. Having had a couple of prescriptions delivered before this, I "assumed" this most recent one would be also. NOT! After a sufficient time'd passed & the rx was due & hadn't come, I called the pharmacy to ask why no delivery. I was told a delivery service contacted to deliver Walgreens rx's had informed them they didn't have enough delivery drivers available to handle Walgreens deliveries that day/evening! I asked the person on the phone if it might have occurred to Walgreens pharmacy staff to call the affected customers to let them know they wouldn't be getting their medication. So, 2-3 days later the same exact thing happened again with the exact same result....NO RX DELIVERY & NO CALL TO ME TO LET ME KNOW IT WASN'T COMING. In both cases, I had to go pick up the prescriptions even though I was feeling horrible!!! Needless to say, I haven't requested delivery since then & never will unless I'm dying. I'm going to mail order now that I'm feeling better as I don't want to use Walgreens pharmacy anymore due to their total lack of concern for home bound customers!!! read more

Should be zero stars. Incompetent employees both in pharmacy and up front. Longest wait time ever. Transferring prescriptions elsewhere.

Appointments don't matter here. You will still wait 40 minutes past your appointment time.

I've been using other non mail order pharmacies to fill my prescriptions since the prices at Walgreens have been significantly higher with the insurance I had. The availability of my primary medication has also been in short supply and at various times the particular pharmaceutical staff they were indifferent about trying to help me get it. This last week has been a very different story. The pharmacy staff have been extremely helpful in trying to access the primary medication and offered to help in transferring other prescriptions since they are now a "Preferred" vendor and price competitive with my new insurance. Yeah! Hoping this trend continues. My husband recently used the new lab in the store and was very pleased with the service. It's a 3rd party provider. BUT if you don't make an appointment online you are very unhappy with a long wait in a cramped area which we saw with walk-in customers. Results were provided efficiently to the doctor who ordered them and got one unusual lab test done right. With regard to non pharmacy services I like the store! It's very convenient in my neighborhood firstly. I've used the photo service to make a custom greeting card which was so nice and very reasonable. Their rewards and coupons are confusing and sometimes work or not when ordering on line. Part of the appeal for this store location from my experience is that it's very clean, has a strong customer base, and is well stocked and they move the inventory. You aren't getting products in mutilated boxes that have been sitting on a shelf for years. I guess perspective can determine point of view huh? read more

This Walgreens is positioned between two big grocery stores and at the entrance of Sun City. Now, I don't know about you but if I need a quick bag of Doritos or a bottle of hydrogen peroxide, I don't want to journey down the road to a crowded parking lot. It is a craving or a need, not a pilgrimage. Not to belittle this store's attributes. No, the opposite. This store has TONS of stuff to save you time in your quest. This Walgreens is well stocked, well maintained and has friendly employees. I haven't used its pharmacy so I can't sing its praises, but it does have plenty of medications, physical aids, food and drinks and even toys. It's a good location and earns its spot as gatekeeper to Sun City (southside). read more

We moved from Austin a few months ago. We've had several prescriptions filled at this particular Walgreens. Our experience with then has not been good. One, they had a prescription filled at the other Walgreens on Williams Rd because they did not have the drug for COVID that I needed. I covered face with mask and as bad as I felt, went to pick up the life saving meds. They did not notify me to go to the other pharmacy. I then had to drive down Williams, as bad as I felt, to pick up the other meds. Just this week, my doctor called in meds for my lingering sore throat. When I went to pick it up, they had no record of receiving the prescription. My doctor had to recall in the prescription. Hopefully this afternoon it will be there when I go to pick it up. Usually you are not well when you pick up a prescription and just don't fill like being jerked around. They have a sign in their window at the drive through asking us to be kind to their employees. That goes both ways folks! I have no star to give them and will not go back after I pick up today's prescription. If I get it. read more

Would give zero stars if I could. I went to 2 Walgreens this morning (with appointments) to get tested for the flu. They both turned me away bc they were out of tests. So around 1030 I did the drive through at this location to confirm they had tests available and the gentleman told me yes and to schedule an appointment. I scheduled one for 12:15, and when I got there and was checking in at the kiosk, the woman at the clinic opened her door and said I'm going to lunch. This is the 3rd Walgreens I have been to today and I told this woman with tears in my eyes please! I just want a flu test, and she said too bad-I have to go to lunch. You'll just have to wait. That woman was so rude, all I have to say is Karma is a bitch. read more

The store itself is fine, but the pharmacy is the worst I've ever had to deal with. Terrible system- phone, app, call center , head pharmacist, assistant pharmacist all give conflicting information leaving customers confused. They even have an express line that is useless! The pharmacy assistant seldom acknowledge anyone that stands in it probably because they don't know it's there or aren't trained to process customers with a fast pass code. The head pharmacist could use some training in customer service as well. Not an easy guy to get clear information from unless it's a scripted answer. I had my doctor move all my prescriptions to CVS and just use the free good RX prescription plan - prices end up the same or less than Walgreens & the whole experience is smoother & more pleasant. Will cancel my Walgreens prescription plan via Medicare in October! read more

Horrible consistent terrible customer service and you cannot speak to anyone at the actual location. You call a call center. You failed every time. You had my 5 prescription ready 1day after you called to say they are ready then my care giver goes to get it and you reshelved it because she didn't have enough money and came right back and told you she was coming back. It was a tall man at Sun City location with short brown hair who talks with his hands very ridiculously and he reshelved it? Why did you do that knowing you jerk. How could you do that to people who need medication. You are evil i will see you soon. I hope you get fired. You knew better mean man. read more

Helpful staff. Great pharmacy service. And great location for Sun City customers. I've moved over from CVS and I'm pleased.

Lousy experience across the board. Made an appointment for 9:45 Saturday morning for some vaccinations, did not get the pharmacist to even communicate with us until 10:38. Almost an entire hour of waiting with no apologies or explanation, just waiting and waiting and waiting. If you can go literally anywhere else, do so. You'll be wasting a ton of time here and the staff are garbage at conveying expected wait times or delays. I don't care if your weekends are busy. I don't care if you only have one pharmacist on a Saturday. Hire more people or stop allowing appointments to be made without actually being able to get to anyone at the promised time. read more

This Walgreen's location in Georgetown by Sun City Georgetown is really nice and well managed with courteous professional team members in the store and pharmacy. Picking up prescriptions in the drive-through and ordering online for curbside pickup is quick and convenient with a large variety of grocery items and sundries available for curbside or in-store pickup within 30 minutes. As always, with many stores today, using a rewards card and store coupons is a must to get the lowest sales prices. Walgreen's Online Coupon clipping is an easy task that offers good savings that make the prices to H-E-B or Walmart on most products along with great sales on popular items like beverages and ice cream. Online prescription management and notification and even uploading and ordering photo products is easy with text or email notification that makes it quite efficient to avoid unnecessary trips. read more

This Walgreen's Pharmacy is an absolute mess. They completely mess up your orders and send you to the end of the 15 person line, so they can figure it out. I have given them 18 months of grace and they are still failing miserably. The worst part is, they don't even care. I will not give them another dollar of my or my insurance's money. Take your business to Randall's or Liberty Pharmacy if you want your business or time to be valued. P.S. My doctor put me on blood pressure medicine simply due to the fact that I had to pick up my medicine at this place once a month. It's that bad. read more

I needed a prescription transferred from another Walgreens and called around 1pm. I asked for it to be filled today because I need it today. I just got a text saying it was ready and the pharmacy was just about to close. Ive typed in a prescription, filled it and had it ready for the pharmacist to verify in less than 60 seconds. I'm not sure if y'all are understaffed or aren't able to clear the queue throughout the day but yall need to do better. My prescription was filled with a different discount card making the price $20 more than before when all it takes it 1 second to see what discount card was used previously and run it under that one. read more

In the front part of this Walgreens, the service is very good and the store associates are very helpful. The photography section is also very friendly and super helpful. The pharmacy has issues. It seems the system goes down regularly and when it does, no one can do anything. If your prescription is new, even if they have it ready, but the pharmacist can't sign off on it, they can't give it to you. With Covid testing and immunization, the pharmacy is understaffed and over worked. They close for an hour for a lunch break--do not have enough staff to cover. Once you do work your way through the line, the pharmacist and pharmacy staff are kind and all do,their best but management needs to increase staff. I don't buy the "nobody wants to work these days." If people are paid well and treated well, they'll come to work. I have to add that this is the busiest drugstore I have even seen. It is often difficult to find any parking place and the handicap places are nearly always fill. The drive through is always packed. read more

They are super short staffed at the time we went in and you could tell both the customers and staff were stressed out about the wait.

When you order something from Walgreens' website, they never email you from this particular Walgreens store when the item is delivered there so you can come and pick it up. The website says NOT to go to the store UNTIL the local store sends you an email that your item is delivered. Sad thing is, this particular store doesn't ever contact you...EVER. Things get lost in some "back stock room" and you have to play hardball in order to light a fire under someone and make them go find your item. This store's processes don't work. That always boils down to poor management, doesn't it? read more

Pharmacy section is concerning. Recently they sent a refill request to my MD, I called the pharmacy and asked why they did that since my medication still had refills left. This caused a delay in receiving my medication. I've had several other issues also, same with my husband. read more

I am a senior and have supported this pharmacy for 4 years but no more. Seniors go on Good Rx and find the pharmacy with the best price for your medications near you. I went on Medicare this month didn't have info from Social security until the end of the month and I am entitled to Medicare D as of 8/1/19. Neither Wallgreens or Cigna wanted to honor this. I had called in a refill for 30 tablets and was given a refill of 180 tablets and told that if I wanted the 30 tablets I had to put in another request. Instead of honoring their mistake I was forced me to pay for 180 tablets. You do not need to get drugs here. Randall's has a pharmacy and so does CVS. Randall's is only a block or 2 away and you can get points that go towards Randall's gas. read more

If I could give less than 1 Star I would. The parking lot always looks like it's Black Friday and the pharmacy drive thru line wait is always 20+ minutes. I have no issue with the store itself, specifically the pharmacy. These people have absolutely no idea what they are doing. I've been switched to a different brand of my medication TWICE and each time it feels like I'm having withdrawals. When I try to call it puts me on hold for 5 minutes then I get a voicemail, over and over. I'm getting my meds sent elsewhere for now on. read more

Made a reservation online to get a flu shot and got a confirmation number, but called about the appointment and they said I didn't have a reservation and I couldn't get a flu shot today after all. Beware if you think you have an appointment for a specific time to get a vaccine, you might be turned away. read more

The pharmacy has no sense of urgency. More than once they have refilled a prescription that I did not request. I was told be a very rude associate that it was on auto refill. When I challenged them and told that non of my prescriptions are on auto refill I was told that was mistaken. I will be looking for another pharmacy. read more

One of the biggest and NICEST walgreen's I have ever been to. I don't normally review places like this, but I felt like it was worth it to give them some credit. My fiancé and I walked in to buy Gatorade for our hike and ended up leaving with $20 worth of stuff we never would have expected to pick up at a walgreen's. The employees were very friendly and helpful, the store was extremely clean and well stocked, and prices were on point. Of course you should expect to spend a little more here versus going to HEB right down the road, but you're paying for the convenience also. Definitely worth it for us to drive a few more minutes here than to go to the walgreen's closer to our house. This will probably be the place we stop before all of our hikes now! read more

The newest G'town Walgreens, this one is smartly placed right at the entrance to Sun City and the parking lot even has spaces for golf carts. It's very obvious who they are catering to. As you would expect, the products inside very much target Sun City retirees. It's a large store and you will find an abundance of sugar free candies, mobility aids, wine... Your standard Grandma Fare. They also do propane exchange, though their prices are consistently $5 more than HEB a few miles down the road. Beer selection is pretty abysmal. This is NOT a 24 hour Walgreens. This one is open only from 7am-10pm daily, which is a bummer, but again - they are targeting Sun City residents. read more

This pharmacy is the worst I have seen, not only does everyone NGAS but they are rude on top of that. Waited 2 days for a prescription and was told it was ready only to get there and find out it wasn't. Asked why I was told it was ready the guy just said "no clue". Never apologized or tried to help just said come back in an hour. Come on Walgreens good help can't be that hard to find OR how about customer service classes for your employees. read more

I get my prescriptions here. Usually a line that takes awhile to get meds but at least staff are helping customers. Most techs are good but there's one guy, his name escapes me, but he is probably the best tech I've ever come across. He knows everything and resolves issues quickly. read more

We've quit getting our RX filled here. There is always a problem. Many times they have not run the item through our insurance - we'll ask and it's "oh, yeah, let me do that". Ya think ? There almost always is a very long wait to pick up the RX. The last RX after 4 days and rude interaction with the store manager I decided life could be better. There is never an acknowledgment that they might need to look at their process and figure out why there are problems. I called another pharmacy just down the road and they had my RX ready in 2 hours ! Insurance approved and everything. When you sit and wait for your RX with other customers you really get an ear full about the issues they are seeing here. This is my personal opinion based on my experience. read more

More than once I have arrived to pickup a prescription and the line was 10 or more people waiting. Manager at the time was very unimpressed by the fact and basically stated they were aware. I guess once you get the government contract you no longer care about upsetting customers as you have a cornered market...guess I will try for the third time later this week when I have an hour or more to wait. read more

I just had my first child, a daughter, who was born on December 30th 2019. She's still in the NICU at St David's downtown, it's now February 11th, the staff have always been friendly and gone above and beyond what they needed to do. But now I get little "hey how's She doing?" from all staff, and with genuine sincerity. And being as were basically living at the hospital it gives us little time to makes trips to pick up our medications. They have filled my prescriptions early because they know what me and my wife are going through. I just want to thank everyone, the entire staff (especially the pharmacist and techs) for making us feel a little bit better when we're not with our daughter and have to be at Walgreens. I don't go to ANY of their Walgreens (even though there is one rite across the street from me) from the bottom of our hearts we thank you. read more

Ordered photos online. Got an email they were ready a few hours later. Went the next day & the cashier said they weren't there. Frustrating to drive 20 minutes to pick up an order & then have the cashier irritated at you because she can't find the order & questions if you have the right address. Umm, yes, it's right here on the email confirmation. Did seem to care when I said I'd just reorder somewhere else. *Note: neither of us were rude, just frustrated. I am the idiot for thinking that surely my poor experiences are isolated. Today I am done with this Walgreens. I like Walgreens but this Walgreens pharmacy is very poor performing. I have had many problems. Problems are fine but it is how they are handled. The folks at this pharmacy do not care about the customers and their mistakes cause customers grief. I live 20 miles away from anything. Their mistakes cause me to have to make inconvenient trips. I can even handle that if I thought they cared. I am going out of my way to go to alternative pharmacies to save time and headaches. My wife and a random person I met have the same experiences and complaints as me. read more

Not a hometown pharmacy. But acts like one. The Techs and Pharmacists go out of there way to make things happen rather than obstruct which is the case in many big stores. On time, correctly packaged and friendly service. Having been in the business I can assure you that the pressure and workload in intense much of the time. Insurance and government requirements are an ever changing nightmare. These guys make it seem easy. i have some specialty drugs and they always make the extra effort to have them when I need them. If you are planning on printing photos, choose a different Walgreens! Their photo printer is always down, especially around special occasions (Father's day). After getting an email saying my photos were ready, stopping in and waiting for 10 minutes for someone to come to the counter I was told the printer was down. It had been down for four days but "should be ready in thirty". Came back 2 days later and the printer STILL wasn't working. Also, the service was awful. I have never had a Walgreens experience like this one. read more

I give this store 2 stars because they are very nice. They told me my prescription would be ready 30 minutes ago. So I arrived 15 minutes after that to give them a chance - and I'm still waiting . No concept of time or appreciation of their customers time. read more
