This is only after trying to work with this store for a couple of years. It's been mostly BAD except for the occasional tech who probably scored very high at Pharmacy Tech school and moved on to a better store. This store is so frustrating to work with. Bad wait times. Everything about this place is bad; maybe there was one good guy there but I didn't get helped by him so I don't know about his service. Photo people were pretty focused on their own gossip and business when we all needed help with photos, lady on the floor was annoyed and didn't want to give direct answers (just tell me there's no more paint and say, "sold out") , and the security people are all sketchy. Caught them changing shifts, there's definitely something off. Customers here suck too, to be honest. Lady saw her kids drop their juice and she ran off so she wouldn't have to pay for it LOL. Lots of shadiness. I don't blame the employees for how they act here though, I'm sure they're sick of people probably robbing the place. It's no wonder Dollar Tree is gone now. Went here tonight, came out and the water sprinklers were on. Soaked my car and me. I asked management who I can complain to. They had no clue. Guess they don't value business. At least post a notice warning customers qbout where the water sprinklers is and where to park to avoid getting soaking wet. At least half the car and front windows are cleaned. A very dirty Walgreens... no limit on entry like Pinole. Going in, going out uses same door. Huge line, no floor markings, no distancing. Went for confirmed covid test, showing up on time to be told they ran out of testing material. No message left on voicemail. A very unprofessional run pharmacy. This should be a -5 Star review. March: After 4 months in a row of not having my pain medication in stock, and never telling me until after I drop off and wait for hours to pick up, I switch over all of my major meds to 450 Sutter Pharamcy in SF. An actual pharmacy that isn't cavalier with how patients recieve medications. I vow to only use Walgreens for my non life or death scripts, only in times when I can give them a couple days to get things right. June: I'm going to have a tattoo appt, working on my rib cage. My Dermatologist prescribes me EMLA to numb the area. I drop off script at Walgreens, El Cerrito, 3 days early. I pick up the script 45 min before appt. They tell me they didn't fill it b/c "we don't have that right now." I ask them why, since they had 3 days to do it, they decided not to call me. They have no answer to this. I tell them they have basically screwed up this appt for me, and had they called me to let me know they couldn't fill my script I could've gone elsewhere. They offer to try to call other Walgreens NOW, to try to amend their assfuckery. As I told them it is too late to fix. I vow to only use them in extreme emergencies. Today: I'm home sick, feeling like crap. At 10am, my Dr. called to tell me that they have called in my prescription. At 11a I call to see if it's ready. They tell me they have no record of it. I ask why my Dr. would call and lie to me...The girl on the phone says "Hey did anyone see this script, the guy on the phone is calling us liars". OMG, I hate you people. The pharmacy here is horrendous. The first time I came here, there was a line of about 3 people in front of me. My doctor had sent over my prescription the previous day, but it took me about 40 minutes to get my medication. The second time I came, there was only 1 person in front of me, and it still took me 40 minutes. The pharmacy is probably understaffed, but it's also incredibly disorganized. The staff seems competent about the medication itself but clueless about customer service. I have no idea why everything here takes so long, but I won't be back, nor would I recommend coming here. read more

I think I've finally found the HELLMOUTH! (For anyone not familiar with the Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV series, that's where the evil demons emerge from the depths.) Here's my evidence: First, there are never enough cashiers. You have to wait in a very long line for surly service. Then, when you finally get to the front of the line, the cashiers push sugary sweets that they've got stacked on the counter, as in: "Would you like to add these Reese's Peanut Butter Cups to your order?" This is despite the obesity epidemic that has hit customers in this geographic area especially hard, So, you see? Demons trying to kill of the human race. But even worse than the shortage of help is the PRICE-GOUGING! They had an anti-allergy medication, chlorpheniramine maleate, on "sale" for $14 for 100. But you can get the same medication (exact same quantity, dosage, etc.) for $1.25 at Target. By my calculations, that's an astounding 1200 percent markup. Again, demons trying to deplete humanity. Horrendous in just about every respect, this store is as likely a candidate as I've stumbled across to mark the spot of the Hellmouth. read more

I had to make a Yelp account just to post this positive review. I had a great experience here. Not with the woman cashier but with one of the male supervisor. I don't know his name but he was relatively younger than the other employees with brownish skin. I don't know if he was a manager or not but he stepped in to resolve a problem I had with a woman cashier. He was very professional and nice. Yep, it's a Walgreen's. I'm actually writing because I took an ink cartridge in to be refilled. I'm pretty leery of this process, I've seen some disasters happen with refilled cartridges, but after a week of regular use, I'm happy with the results of their service. Both the kid behind the counter and the girl I spoke to on the phone emphasized that they fill cartridges "up to the top!" They were both enthusiastic, so I gave it a shot. I twas 10$ for the black refill, $15 for color... I had a black one refilled. So far so good. Otherwise, it's a Walgreen's full of snacks, bandaids, cosmetics, seasonal do-dads and greeting cards. I'd go again, if only for the ink refills. read more

We went there for Passport Photo. The shift lead took picture for me and my wife for passport and asked to come back after 30 minutes. We returned after 30 minutes and the asked for our order. The female associate looked around but nah...picture still in storage device ....she printed the pictures with some touch up but the quality was not good and asked her to redo it. She tried it again with the same result. Wasted 1.5 hours and refunded. You seriously need to upgrade your camera and lighting for photo shoot area. I will definitely give 5 star for customer services provided by female associate. read more

The biggest issue I have with Walgreen's is with the pharmacy. Though the staff is friendly enough, which I appreciate, they have messed up my prescriptions not once, but REPEATEDLY. The grand one--my shock at finding two different sized pills in the same bottle, and neither one was the right one. I can forgive some things, but given the number of mistakes, and the fact that iit takes a supreme effort to mess it up that bad...I jumped sihip after a generous number of "second" chances. Also, I am not a fan of waiting in line forever and a day, and I usually go places off-peak hours to boot. Two stars is being generous, the only time I go to Walgreen's now is to get electronic lighters, because I can't get them anywhere else nearby. read more

I forgot her name but sweet lady with dreads who was working both the main pharmacy line and drive though! You go girl! She helped me find what I was looking for because normally what I get is over the count so the packaging is not different and its on the shelf! not over the counter. #MissionAccomplished. read more

If you happen to be clever enough to check reviews prior to doing business with a store (as in this case I was not), then do yourself a favor and stay away from the pharmacy at this particular Walgreens. I won't rant and rave about the details of my experiences here, but will say that in the year and a half that I have been in the Bay Area, this pharmacy's staff has made no less than half a dozen annoying errors in filling prescriptions for me or my relatives, at least twice via disregarding specific instructions from me or my physician. Fortunately, none of these errors resulted in personal injury... but the clock is ticking. read more

Here is the thing. When you need a pharmacy, you don't want to wait for a half hour every single time to pick up a prescription. It is true that they have good prices. But is worth waiting a half hour, or more, every single time to pick up a prescription when there are plenty of staff in the back? I think not. I would give then a zero star if it were possible. I came in here today w/ very low expectations. The last time I was in this store was a few years ago and I was definitely not impressed. The floors seemed dirty, an impression enhanced by random pieces of paper scattered about which hadn't been picked up. I can't even remember what I was in for, but I was in and out quickly and uncomfortably. I have been looking for an enzyme contact lens cleaner. I had been unable to find it yesterday at Costco. I dislike CVS and Alan needed to go to the Staples in this shopping center to mail a package, so I decided to look for the eye stuff in this Walgreens. When I walked in the floors were shiny and spotless. Classical music, maybe Handel or someone from that era, was playing overhead. Not at all what I expected! The classical piece ended and on came something more classic R&B. Interesting mix, but both good. I went to the eye section and studied the options w/o finding what I wanted. A white coated pharmacist came by w/ another customer and was explaining how to use an eye product the man was buying for someone else. When the customer left I explained to the pharmacist what I was looking for and what product I was using, explaining that the contact lens fitter had recommended I use the extra cleaner. I also added that my right eye seemed irritated and I thought maybe cleaning the lens more would help. He looked dubious and I inferred he thought the product I was using was sufficient w/o additional cleaning, which he confirmed. He suggested I not buy anything else, but consult an optometrist if the eye continued to feel irritated. The whole shopping experience was completely different from the previous time and next time I won't hesitate to return to this store. read more

Alright, I have severe mixed feelings about this place. The manager seriously got on my bad side and it takes a LOT to do that. And he has yet to redeem himself. I came running in 6 minutes before closing which is something that I absolutely *hate* doing to any business. So for that, I apologize. But what I needed was essential: a unique battery that my grandma's medical bed remote uses. The damn thing just died without any warning, as most battery operated things do, and she was stuck in her bed unable to get out :( So, knowing that Walgreens is one of the only places that carries the weird, short, stubby battery I got in my car and went down here to get it. I ran in the door, knowing exactly what I needed and where it was, and the manager *shouts* "You have 5 minutes. You should have come in earlier." in the most irritated and agitated voice. What the *ahem* heck? RUDE! I understand that you and your employees have worked long hours and you wanna go home, but it wouldn't hurt to be the slightest bit courteous. His attitude seriously put a big ass damper on my already bad/stressed out mood. The only reason I didn't give this place 0 stars was because I managed to find a Chia Spongebob here as a gift for someone 2 days before Christmas. And since they had more than one, I bought one for myself. Chia Spongebob is amazing. The manager? Not so much. read more

"Customer beware you may be cheated out of great deals." Worse customer service ever.......... I visit this store recently and I had the worse experience ever. I asked an employee to provide me with prices of a few items. Items that I had found in the clearance section. The employee then took it, came back and lie and made excuses to avoid me from buying the items. Once he saw that I had caught him in the lie and that I was still going to buy the items he got very upset and took two items from me and broke one of them. He broke the item out of anger and revenge just so I wouldn't get it. I feel like I shouldn't need to be arguing with an employee about and item that I'm interested in purchasing. Also I consider this bad Bussiness, since it seems to me that is ok for employees to lie and cheat us(customers) out of great bargains just for their own benefit. Are bargains just made for employees?? What kind of employee does this kind of things?? Is this the type of employee that Walgreens wants to represent them? I have had to use this pharmacy for the last seven years. I visit it at least once a month. The lines are long. The customer service is irregular. On good days, you get someone who might greet you. On bad days you might get followed by the manager if you do mot look like you are well-off. The pharmacy staff are courteous and helpful, but it seems that they are always understaffed. There is a new manager now and it seems like she is finally getting the floor staff to work a little more efficiently. For an example of far better customer service they could walk a few yards to the Dollar Tree store nearby, where the security guard greets you with a smile and the cashiers do not come from privileged backgrounds either but have a much sunnier disposition. Why doesn't their corporate headquarters care enough to change the culture at this pharmacy? That's the question I want to ask. read more

I get it its covid and things are hard to manage for take out, drop off, curbside or drive thru. However this was my fourth time online re ordering for pick up in Walgreens today. I ordered a shampoo and an oil because the walgreens app said they had both of them available in a particular shop. But when I checked out and bought it, after a while they said it was out of stock and i had to re order from another store again. I ordered from another walgreen store but when i put the nearby location of another walgreens, I didn't realize it but they changed the location to a very different and far away from my address in their own. When i went for pick up, in the drive thru they didn't respond to me and totally ignored. Then i got a call from walgreens saying they were waiting for me but in a different address. I had already wasted hours in ordering and re ordering the items and I had to face a lot of complications while purchasing it in store too. They already pulled money out of my card before even i got the item and they sent me message saying "thank you for purchasing you have been charged" whereas i was still on my way to get the item. Idk how the shampoo is supposed to look like but I got a different one from what I ordered and the bottle was cracked a little; the shampoo is also opened and not completely filled up. Something is sus. Walgreens changed my default address after check out and they put the wrong order and customer service was pathetic!! read more

I have officially switched pharmacies after tonight's experience. They don't answer their phones. I was on hold for 25 minutes before giving up and driving into the store. I then waited in line for 30 minutes, even though there were only 3 people in front of me. They don't have enough staff to fulfill the demand, and never have. There's nothing more infuriating than not being able to get a prescription filled when you're sick!
