The WORST Walgreen's pharmacy. With the exception of "Sid," you will deal with the most dishonest, completely incompetent mongoloid pharmacists & staff on the face of the earth. I cant tell you how many times I was told my prescription was ready, only to show up and it was not. I cant tell you how many times they have claimed to have called my physician for a refill renewal, only to have my physician's office tell me that they never were called. Once, I even had a daytime pharmacist (not staff) tell me that they could not release my prescription because, while it was called in and filled before the expiration date, it was now a day after the expiration date. HOWEVER, if I was willing to purchase their Walgreens prescription plan, she would release it. I reiterated back to her what she just said, basically if I paid them money beyond the cost of the prescription they would give me the prescription even though she just told me federal law prevented them from giving it to me otherwise, and she said, "Yes, that's what I'm saying." Hello... DEA...?
But this last go round was the absolute worst experience, and deserves some higher ups at Walgreens or otherwise to audit this location, namely:
1. Monday. Called in my prescription the day before the refill expired. Set the pick up time for the a.m. Mind you, this prescription is needed to maintain my health, with significant consequences if I am without it. I have 4 days of medication left if I go to half doses.
2. Wednesday Went to pick up the script, waiting 45 min in the drive thru. I was told, "Sorry your prescription has expired." I told them, "but I called it in yesterday, and it is good through today, it doesn't 'expire' until tomorrow." Her response? "Sorry." Okay, fine, they will contact my doctor that day, asap.
3. Thursday. My prescription is not ready. Called my doctor's office. "Yes, we approved the refill for 6 mos as of yesterday." Call Walgreens, wait on hold having to listen to some screeching HIDEOUS musak... "sorry, we never heard back from your doctor." Really? Okay, well here is his PERSONAL CELL PHONE NUMBER. HE asks that you call him directly and he will approve the refill. I give the very rude, constantly sighing pharmacy assistant-who-just-wanted-me-off-the-phone his number. She claims to have updated "my notes," she will call him.
3. Friday. My prescription is not ready. Called Walgreens, waited 17 min. on the phone, got kicked back to the opening call menu, got back in the call que and waited another 12 min. "Sorry, we never heard back from the doctor's office" the Luddite rube on the other end said, (who could have not sounded less sorry or more "Appalachian") "we never heard back from your doctor." This time I got a name, her name is "Lizzie." I told her, "but I gave the other rude person I spoke to yesterday (could have been Lizzie, not sure) my doctor's personal, PRIVATE, cell number and he was waiting for a call!" She again says, "Sorry." I ask if she will please call him after we hang up. She actually SIGHS, and says, "well, okayyyyy." Like I have annoyed her. I repeat the number. She hangs up on me.
4. Saturday. My prescription is not ready. I text my doctor. He says HE NEVER RECEIVED A CALL FROM WALGREENS, but that he'll call them himself. I wait an hour. I call Walgreens. I am on hold for 22min. Lizzie answers! She says, "Sorry, we have not heard back from your doctor about your refill." Are you frickin' kidding me?? I remind her of who I am and our conversations. I remind her SHE said SHE would call my doctor. I tell her that she did not. I also tell her I am now completely out of my medication and have been at a half dose all week waiting. She says, "Well, I don't know what your doctor is telling you, but I have here in your notes (while I hear her typing, mind you) that we have called him twice." She once again says she will call him. I ask to speak to the pharmacist, she HANGS UP. I have to leave for work.
5. Saturday p.m.. I stop by and speak with the pharmacist, "Sid." He tells me, "we have not heard back from your doctor regarding your refill." O...M....G.... I tell him all of the above, he checks the number they are calling. It's a completely different number than my doctor's office or cell, not even close. He's very good at calming me down and very professional. He promises to leave a message for pharmacy staff. He recommends I call back Sun a.m. & check to see if they call.
6. Sunday a.m. I text my doctor, he calls Walgreens, AGAIN. I call and get LIZZIE! She says they will have the prescription ready in 20 min. I get there-t's not ready!! I have to leave. I return only to have Sid tell me "your medication is out of stock here, we might get it in on Tuesday!" Never received a prior call telling me this, and but for Sid calling another Walgreens, I would still not have my medication.
Bottom line: DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS WALGREENS LOCATION. read more
