This has to be the worst Walgreens on earth. It's messy, looks perpetually dirty and disorganized, and is often just... randomly... closed. Behind the pharmacy counter, medications are strewn all over. And, at the height of the pandemic, they had a pharmacist who consistently refused to wear her mask so that it covered her nose. But my recent experience makes me think it's a company-wide issue. I tried to use my FSA card to buy some generic Benadryl. The card was rejected a few times, so I said, "No problem, I'll just pay with a credit card and submit the receipt for reimbursement." But when I got the receipt, I saw that it was not listed as "FSA eligible." When I questioned this, the cashier got the manager who took the box of pills, went up to his office to make a phone call, and then came back and told me it was because there wasn't enough room on the receipt for that line. WHAT? Do you not know how receipts work? They just print out until they are done printing. If I buy 80 items, I'll get a really long piece of paper. If I buy one item, I get a relatively short piece of paper. Obviously, there is ALWAYS room for one more line on a receipt. THEN he tried to tell me it was because *my* FSA card might not cover Benadryl while others might. Which is, he claims, what corporate told him. Which is, of course, more BS, because OTC medications are either FSA eligible or they are not -- that's federal law, not the whims of any particular FSA provider. I just had them refund my purchase, because I'm not going to pay for something that is covered but might not get reimbursed, because Walgreens can't get their act together to keep their computer system updated. It might just be that this particular store is particularly bad, but I've decided I'm done with the brand entirely. Never again. read more
