This Walgreens is so convenient but their staffing problem is really an issue. The pharmacy is absolutely ridiculous. A typical wait time is 15 minutes but can easily be much much longer. read more

Always under staffed!!! Wait times both in person and on the phone ridiculously long. They constantly demonstrate a negative attitude towards customers. When you say something about it; they say "we are really busy". Really then get some more help!!!! read more

Again today, I had a horrible experience in the pharmacy. My prescription took about an hour from the time I got in line to drop it off until the time I walked out of the store. What happened to the 15 minutes you told me? When I go to pay, my prescription is wrong (just like the previous two times) and because walgreens filled it incorrectly, the cashier got an attitude with me. They fixed the problem and I paid. I then asked if I could get the information for the district manager of the store (name, office number, anything) because I had brought this to the attention of pharmacist and managers previously and yet had the same problem!!!! The cashier said I had to speak to the pharmacist. Not what I wanted, but I did it anyways. The pharmacist could not give me the information I was asking for and instead got the store manager, probably as she has been trained to do by walgreens. When the store manager finally came to talk to me she kept asking me the problem and I repeatedly explained to her I did not think this could be handled at store level. Lauren, store manager, basically dismissed me and didn't want to give me the information because their was a mistake made on her stores part and she didn't want to get "in trouble." I was told it was illegal on her part to give me that information. I left, basically in tears, horrified at the experience. After a few errands and lunch, I noticed several places had their DM info, picture, name, etc. posted in plain site for all customers to have. I then went to two other pharmacies in town and I was immediately given the DM names and office number. I returned to Walgreens just to let The pharmacist and store manager be aware of my experience at other corporations in town The pharmacist, Sarah, was genuinely upset and it was visible in her face and demeanor. The store manager was very uppity and did not once offer me the DM information. She kept repeating to me that they handle things on a store level. Again, Sarah looks embarrassed and truly apologetic for my experience. I then let Lauren, store manager, know I had already gotten the DM information and I would be putting a formal complaint against her. Her face and demeanor spoke volumes: she did not care nor did she want to rectify the situation. I honestly didn't even know if she was even listening to me. It saddens me that good customer service is no longer a standard practice in today's society. I refuse to return to this store ever again even though I live less than a mile away and it is the most convenient store/pharmacy. I no longer mind going a little out of my way for good customer service. I refer to Walgreens as the new Walmart. Truly sad. Truly pathetic. read more

This has got to be the worst walgreens pharmacy in the world. My little guy has some issues and we pick up 2 prescriptions and 1 over the counter med every month for years now. And something is wrong EVERY MONTH! It's not ready, or filed in the wrong alpha box and they cant find it, or out of stock and they are going to have to order it (we get the same thing EVERY MONTH!), or they have not filed it with my insurance and if I would be so kind as to sit over here for ANOTHER 15 minutes while they do that they will have it right ready. typical wait is 15 minutes, but I have waited in line for 40 minutes before. sometimes i drive thru, sometimes i go in. it doesnt matter. And bless your heart if you have a problem. they are just not equipt to handle anything out of the ordinary or communicate with your doctors office or insurance company to figure out and solve a problem. I ALWAYS have to call the offices myself and fix it and then call walgreens back and tell them what to do. I would switch to rite aid across the street, but they cant be bothered to answer the phone, and the local shops close before I can get home from work. So every month I go in there and every month something is wrong. The people are nice people, they are just understaffed or slow or not very smart or working with an antiquated computer system or dont give a damn or something. incompetence + prescription drugs= nothing can possibly go wrong with this equation. read more

BE PREPARED TO WAIT and WAIT !!! The pharmacy is way under staffed and the time they give you for filling you can add an additional hour. There is NOTHING happy or healthy about having this experience over and over. read more

I am forced to give this Walgreens at least one star to be able to leave a review but it certainly does not deserve it. This place is honestly worse than the DMV any day or time of the week. The pharmacy is the most disorganized and inefficient operation I've ever come across and I mean in any retail experience I've ever witnessed. The wait time to get a prescription filled is atrocious. Your first clue is when you hand the "pharmacy tech" (doubtful that any of them have pharmacy training) your prescription, he or she will ask, "When can you come back for it?" They clearly don't want you to wait. And if you do say you want to wait, they will say, "It's going to be at least 45 minutes." Forget it. You're going to be waiting over an hour, and that's if you're lucky. When they finally call your name, you then have to get in line where you will wait another 20 minutes while everybody and their mother has to ask 10 questions a piece, which this pharmacy should expect and be able to handle, but it doesn't. The folks with questions do not get channeled to another area. Instead they just have to stand there and hose up the line. This pharmacy has 2 register stations plus the drive-thru, but it is a rare occasion indeed when all 3 stations are manned. My experience has been one or the other employee is "going on break." Every. Single. Time. The question I have is, is every man, woman and child in Clayton on medication? I have never walked in this place when there was not a crowd of people in the pharmacy. The bins are always full to the brim with bags. And the drive-thru is always backed up. Nevertheless, this place is seriously understaffed and simply cannot handle the demand. Every person in this store seems miserable, the employees as well as the customers. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to Rite Aid. read more

This pharmacy is a consistent poor performer! I called in refills yesterday morning at 07:30 and was told it would be ready that morning. Before lunch I received an automated call stating it was ready. Today at 17:00 I arrive at the store to pick up my refills. I was told ONE of the THREE was ready, and one had "just printed off" and there seemed to be a problem with one. The cashier went to speak with the pharmacist and came saying they were being filled "right now" and to please give them a few minutes. This happens over and over. These meds have a year's worth of refills and yet often they do not have them in stock. The lines are always long and the staff, while nice and polite, appear to have not a clue how to do their job. Sit in the waiting area and you can hear over and over how many times the staff have to say "I'm sorry". read more

Extremely long wait times. Meds never filled on time and you have to normally come back the next day and wait through long lines again.

I would say that if your going for non pharmacy items you may can get in and out without much of a problems , but the pharmacy side is slow and a hour for one prescription for pain medication. I use Wal-Mart at times and that wait ain't great ,but it's not a hour if you are waiting and in need. There medication prices at Walgreen's reflect the 24hrs. also. read more

I resent having to award this Walgreens Pharmacy a 1 star rating, there should be a negative star option! I can't believe the corporate offices of the Walgreens group allow this pharmacy to remain open and the current staff employed based on all of the negative reviews alone. I've never had an issue with the Walgreens pharmacies in any other location we've lived in so it was natural to use them when we moved to Clayton. I've only had to fill a few Rx here and they've all been painfully slow, problematic and delivered by rude, apathetic, unprofessional "service" employees!!!! Tonight was no different, 2 Rx were called in by a Physcian and filled (not that I'd know that without ever receiving a call from the Pharmacy) and a third Rx needed to be taken in person. There was an issue with the Rx and the pharmacist attitude was so encredibly hateful and nasty. She refused to call the Physicians office or to help in any way what so ever. As it is a friday night I will have to wait until monday to drive back to the Raleigh office and have another Rx produced. Unbelievable!! The moment I clear this last issue up, I will ablsokutely be using another pharmacy in the area. I believe that everyone that reads these reviews needs to specifically boycott this pharmacy and everyone who has used this pharmacy and had a bad expierence in the past needs to call the corporate office and complain! read more

Bad pharmacy. I have always liked the convenience of being able to pick up prescriptions around 6:30 on my way to my job in Cary. Last October, I went in around 6:30 a.m. to get a flu shot. The cashier claimed that my insurance company's website wouldn't come up. Are you kidding me? At 6:30 in the morning? So I couldn't get my flu shot. I think it was Walgreen's system that was uncooperative! I went back a couple of days later after work, and they were having issues again with the insurance company's website (according to the cashier). I have to wonder because this has never been an issue in the past. I was at Walgreens 45 minutes, from the time I stepped in line until I left, just to get a flu shot. Once the cashier was able to access my insurance company, I filled out the paperwork. I had to wait 20 minutes after filling out the paperwork before the pharmacist came to give me the shot. I can understand if she was answering a phone call or filling a prescription, but when she was done with one or the other, she could have stopped long enough to give me the shot. She wouldn't have given me the shot then if I hadn't told the cashier that I needed to head home, and the pharmacist wasn't on the phone then either. Then in February, I called in a refill on my prescription. Not only were they out of stock, but someone had entered my prescription information incorrectly. It had been entered as a 90-day supply, not as a 30-day supply, as my doctor had ordered. When I called the pharmacy and learned that insurance was not paying because the refill had been called in too soon, I immediately called my insurance company. The person who helped me found out what the problem was and called Walgreens. Thanks to a very nice pharmacy assistant, the matter was corrected, and my insurance covered the prescription, but I still had to wait until the truck came in so that another supply of my prescription could be delivered. I called in a refill this month (March), only to learn that they were out of my prescription again. They had changed pharmaceutical companies and had gone with a generic brand and either they could not get enough of the medication or they were only allowed to order a certain quantity. Anyway, that was the last straw. I had my prescription transferred to another pharmacy, who did have the prescription in stock. I will never get another prescription filled at Walgreens in Clayton. read more
