I feel badly for the people who work here. They seem to be overworked and unfairly so. It seems scheduling allows roughly 5 people to schedule for the same vaccine appointment time. Add to that the fact that for the umpteenth time, they are understaffed. Today, when I checked in for my appointment, I was told the wait for my vaccine would be 1 hour. The staffer also noted the pharmacy closes at 7. Last week I had a different vaccine (my physician has patients take them a week apart) at this same Walgreens, with similar overbooking and wait times. I note also that they have few chairs for patrons despite the long waits. I've had other similar issues at this pharmacy before as well. Attention corporate: Can you do something to improve our customer experience and the lives of your employees? Hopefully you can fix these ongoing issues if you put your mind to it. read more

I have been a lot of Walgreens throughout my travels. This is the very first Walgreens that welcomed me to the store. When I walked through the revolving doors, the man at the register said" welcome to Walgreens ". I was surprised to hear a greeting. As I was looking for a few items, I asked a young lady where a few items were. She took me right to the items that I requested. I did go back and ask her a few more questions . She looked it up right away and with a smile , gave me the info . I have to say, this is the best Walgreens I have been to. Employees have a great attitude and friendly interactions with customers. I had a doctor appointment a block away, and I'd missed Easter somehow, so I popped in to this Walgreens last weekend. Mask, gloves, social distanced myself, and paid for the plastic bags. And, I scored all of this excellent stuff to surprise my kids with, a week late... but all at 50% off. So it pays to be forgetful. The staff was great. The lady at the registers super sweet and helpful. Thank you for working a register during a pandemic. There were signs and taped marks on the floor to remind everyone to keep 6' apart. Clean store, automatic doors, good sales, even had toilet paper and paper towels in stock. You have to pay to park, but I paid anyway so I could go to my doc appointment. read more

I really like the Walgreens at 315 W Chicago. The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially Casey, in the pharmacy. I've been to many Walgreens locations across the country, and thanks to Casey and the staff at 315 W. Chicago, this is my favorite store. It makes a big difference when a customer is treated with genuine kindness and respect by a cheerful staff. The female pharmacist (she told me she is the Pharmacy Manager) named "Mimi" I think thats her name as she didn't want to give me any information when I asked if that was her full name or nick name as they don't have a photo or name of the pharmacist's on the wall nor a business card. She looked at me odd when and responded with snark like Pharmacists never have a business card (it looks like a business card, am I the only one who has had pharmacists or been to a pharmacy where there is a card with the Pharmacists name, store location and store number? I thought it was there so you can have the information or have on hand to give your Doctor any information if needed? I have some in my agenda but I'll stop my rant) IS ONE OF THE MOST CONDESENDING PEOPLE I HAVE EVER MET. The Male Pharmacist is literally a gem. He is kind and doesn't really give people issues. He is more laid back and chill. Mimi on the other hand is one of those Pharmacists who in my opinion feel like they are more versed in your health than your own Doctor. You know...the ones that know NOTHING about your diagnosis, your lifestyle, your career, your reasons for taking any kind of medication (no, I'm not talking about narcotics here as I am not prescribed any pain killers or the sort) but feel like they know more than the Doctor? Yea, that's her. I'm sure I'll update my review soon as I have already taken some actions to have her disciplined as she went above and beyond to treat me horribly that I'm sure Walgreens won't want her representing them. She laughed in my face, refused to fill my prescription although she has been filling the exact same prescriptions of mine everytime I have the misfortune of going to this Walgreens and she is working. Sometimes I legit just walk out because she feels so FABULOUS AND GRAND it's like girl chill out. You a PharmD cool, congratulations! You speak to me like your my Doctor though so you should've just finished Med school all the way to get your DR instead of your PharmD. She's always on her cell phone texting someone (I have two photos of it because I won't post it because she probably will try to strike this review down knowing her). I'm a Flight Attendant who also owns a boutique PR and Marketing Agency literally one block down at 357 and I would rather swim across Lake Michigan in the Winter when it's full of ice floating, get hypothermia to the point they have to amputate my right foot (which is my cute foot...ladies you know the left one is always a tiny bit bigger and you have to squeeze it in those Pigalle 120's unless your wearing Jimmy Choo which are the most comfortable heels ever made so no issue there) loose an eyeball from a fish desperate for food, get ran over a boat paroling the water, get an infection from all the bacteria left over from the parties on the Play Pen during the Summer and then when I arrive to the other side get mugged and told to go back where I came from, swim back but make a sharp right so I can swim up a bit North and go to the Walgreens in Old Town than deal with this Pharmacist/Aspiring Doctor. I swear I'm not even joking. Yes, I write a lot and have time to be petty. When your Major in Undergrad is Marketing with a heavy emphasis on Copy Writing, Communications with a Minor in Journalism and have a M.B.A. in Marketing Strategy where you literally end up feeling like Stephen King from all the Press Releases you had to write, Digital Media Content Marketing courses where you had to engage the customer with your Call to Action and the countless other courses full of writing, you tend to end up very talkative whether in person or online. I literally write novels for everything. Be glad you don't work with me because this is nothing compared to my e-mail's. Back to Miss Thing over here. Thankfully, my career has me constantly meeting people so I doubt she will be at this location much longer. If you can't tell already from the enormously long review, I am a determined woman who gets things done. Especially when something or someone has rubbed me the wrong way. This review is nothing compared to how determined I am to make sure Missy over here humbles herself and comes back down to earth. She works for the customer. So many Pharmacists now days feel like they have M.D. behind their name. It's like Chill...if my Doctor wrote the script for the medication I have been on for years, I don't think you should really worry so much. Your license isn't on the line (I hate that excuse! The Doctor wrote it, it's their license on the line unless someone is trying to fill same scripts from multiple different Doctors you should just mind your business). Oh wait, I forgot to add how she said loudly so everyone can here that the script I am on is VERY HIGH AND CAN LEAD TO OVERDOSE. Say what? The cashier Carded the person buying alcohol, then demanded that me and the other person I was with showed our IDS as well saying that it's "policy". If I'm not the one buying alcohol why are you inconveniencing me and making me show my ID? That's not policy according to this sign and it's doing too much. I was also trying to get my ID out of my bag and he's over here yelling at me about seeing an ID. I was obviously trying to get it out, it's not like I expected to get carded while NOT BUYING ALCOHOL. read more

It's a pretty standard Walgreens. There's no clear area for a waiting line. You kind of just have to wait next to the fridge to get to the register. I bet there's some competition from the Walmart express down the street. read more

Super close to brown line Chicago stop. Has several item categories the walmart express across the street doesn't have. People are pretty nice here. It's pretty spacious, clean and well lit. Good big convenience store to have. Better lit than the walmart express nearby. read more

I know, weird to write a review for a Walgreens, but I try to take note of every new place I visit and give it the once-over and see if it's worth writing about. I liked this Walgreens - and I've been to several in the Chicagoland area. This place was very clean, shelves were in order, and every employee I encountered (including the pharmacist standing at his little window) smiled at me and seemed to somehow convey that they enjoyed their job and enjoyed helping customers. It's weird to get that vibe sometimes, you know? Like you just don't expect it at some kinds of places, but there it was. Found what I needed rather quickly but wandered around to see if there were any good sales going on. Well, rather to see if the good sales I knew were on still had some product left because the other Walgreens I've hit this week were out of the sale items by Tuesday. Sure enough, they still had a supply, which was nice. The cashier even bothered to make friendly smalltalk with me while ringing up my purchase - which is much better than the "glowering at you until you fork over money and then ignoring you until the receipt has printed" treatment that exists in some of the other Walgreens in the city. The only thing that kept it from a 5th star is the bum situation right outside. I understand that drugstores and chain locations are prime locations where people emerge with change from their purchases, and I understand that in the two-block radius I wandered after exiting the Brown Line station I encountered at least 5 bums asking me for change - but the least you can do is periodically shoo them away because it's bad for business to have people harassing your customers and/or scaring away potential customers. read more

I don't feel ambivalent about this Walgreens, which is a positive sign. When I put my prescription in online it's always ready on time. The women at the front registers always make small talk and they are super nice. Their card selection doesn't suck, which is nice since I am always buying last minute cards. There's not much more I could ask from a Walgreens. There can be a seedy element out front, but what can ya do. read more

This is my "go to" Walgreens for several reasons. 1. Close to home 2. It's clean 3. There's never/rarely a wait at the pharmacy 4. Cashier lines are short than most* * BIG PET PEEVE.... there are 5 registers and 1 open register. There are 10+ people in line and 5 other Walgreens staff members on the floor stocking or simply chatting to one another or texting on their phones. Open the darn registers and ring up our stuff!! The location is very convenient, centrally located, and close to public transportation (bus stop + brown line). Generally it's not crowded, and has most of the things one would want to find in a pharmacy. The pharmacists are nice and knowledgeable. I did my flu shot there the other day, and didn't have to wait at all. Overall the best pharmacy in the area. read more

I never have bad experiences with places usually but the pharmacist today working at 10:31 am on September 10th, the female was extremely rude and cold to me. I was waiting in line and was the only one in line when she completely ignored my existence and then told her i needed to be helped. She told me to sit down and wait which I was fine with because maybe she wasn't ready for me yet. A few minutes go by and she helps another person. Considering she skipped me for whatever reason is sketchy and inconsiderate. After I confronted her, she told me to wait 10 minutes. Honey, I cannot read your mind. COMMUNICATE with me if I need to wait that long. Just made me feel really uncared about and that should not be a value of such a big corporation. Also heard her talking about me with her other coworker thinking I couldn't hear her. I'll be taking my business elsewhere where people actually care about who they hire. read more

Right off the bat, I will say that I am a fan of CVS- even the generics- over Walgreens any day of the week. In a sea of Walgreens listings on Yelp, I am psyched that I was able to find the exact location that I wanted to review (thanks, Elizabeth T. for posting the helpful pictures). I stopped in here yesterday for a beverage and some sort of snack to tide me over for an evening meeting. The beverage selections were lacking, as I had my eye out of a fizzy water (think: Pellegrino in the plastic bottles). I finally went with a Fiji water (fyi, .32 more expensive than at CVS--I have officially turned into an old lady, now noticing and much less writing about such things). Beverage selection made, I turned to the snacks and was confronted with shelves upon shelves of crap that was poorly organized, to boot. The store overall seemed dirty, especially the floors. In fact, while waiting to check out, I smelled a distinct tinge of urine, then on my way out saw a worker with a mop bucket, confirming my worst suspicions. Checkers were lackluster, at best and there were WAAAY too many "Nice!" Walgreens-branded items standing in where I would have expected to see non-generic counterparts. The funniest part of the experience came when I saw a slab of gooey butter cake, marketed as "St. Louis style." under the Nice! imprimatur. That stuff looked like it had been run over several times by a truck, way past its sell-by date with nothing gooey about it. I probably won't be back here, even under duress. read more

spent $41 on multiple items. sales associate asked me if i wanted to buy a bag to carry it all. i declined as thier prices haven't actually dropped at all to accommodate this ridiculous practice. went over to Mr. Beef for a sandwich after and they gave me a bad for my Walgreens purchases without me even asking. Just came out of this store. Horrible. Went in to kill some time waiting for the bus, got accused and searched for shoplifting. Absolute morons. The only item I touched, I gave to my husband to pay for it while I took my little one to the restroom and as soon as I came out to meet him, I got stopped and asked to look in my bag. Theft control has no idea what they are doing and shouldn't have this responsibility. Will be sending in a formal complaint. read more

Coming here for a flu shot took less than 10 minutes, and is cheaper than a visit to my doctor. Virtually pain-free as well.
