Great location for this smaller sized Walgreens which has cosmetics and personal care items and a good selection of snacks. I needed a new contact lens container and here it was, easy enough. I went to this Walgreens because I had just left the Prudential Center and I saw it was just across the street. My family and I were in Boston on vacation and I needed some things for an upcoming tour. The tour would require us getting up like sometime around 4:00 am and we needed to get something to eat for breakfast. We found what we were looking for which was some Frappuccino (for me and brother) and milk (for mom) as well and some snacks. The store is smaller than many Walgreens, and you don't find the variety you normally look for. But it got the job done. read more

An elderly woman wasn't understanding that her medication wasn't yet and got very frustrated with the associate and started yelling at her. She was rambling on and on about how she was in pain and needed medicine now and the associate Mina handled the situation with grace and manners and was kind while de-escalating the situation. It was exactly how I would want somebody to treat my own grandmother. Great job Mina, keep it up! read more

This has been my store for a long time. Also the delivery is great. The pharmacy can be challenging sometimes, but overall they're pretty good. Recently I've been concerned about the cleanliness of the pharmacy area. The store is dirty, but the pharmacy is dark, and dirty back there. Plus, since the cannabis center has opened next door, and people smoke outside which goes directly into their ventilation system the store smells like weed all the time. So seriously, I don't want any mix up with my medications. So looking for a new pharmacy. read more

Walgreens is great for convenience. It seems to be everywhere and open all the time. Since I needed some last minute supplies I was going to go to CVS but the clerk said it was probably closed and suggested Walgreens which was around the corner from Newbury Guest House and easy to walk to. It's a small Walgreens, but it had what we needed and was pretty quick & painless. read more

Have you ever been to a Walgreens? Great. This is a Walgreens, and it's like most other Walgreenses (sp?), including being kind of cramped and dingy. It gets bonus points for an "As Seen on TV" merchandise aisle, perfect for gag gifts. I like this particular Walgreens because they have a great flu shot service at the pharmacy. I had a voucher from work that made the shot complimentary, but the normal price is around $25. The pharmacist sets you up behind a privacy screen and administers the shot. Everything was very sanitary and quick. I think the whole process took less than 5 minutes. And the pharmacist I saw was great--friendly, cheerful, and talked me through my fear of getting shots. read more

The pharmacy locked up but a sign shows that it is open all day on Saturday! I spoke with a manager who said that the pharmacist was assigned to another location all day. You are a pharmacy and are trusted to provide customers with essential medications. This is a big responsibility and Walgreens is not up to the job. Management needs to hire more pharmacists. At the very least put up a sign explaining that the pharmacy is closed today so customers are not wandering around trying to figure out when the pharmacy will reopen. read more

I made an appointment at this Walgreens for my Covid booster and a flu shot. Upon arrival, the staff was scattered and overwhelmed by their jobs even though there weren't large numbers of people present. Long story short, even though I am in the Walgreens system from my hometown, they couldn't find me. Eventually, they found me but insisted that my insurance card was out of date. The card clearly states that the "coverage effective date" is/was January of 2020, yet the head pharmacist present -- have no idea of it was the head pharmacist for the store-- insisted that January 2020 indicated an expiration date for the card. It was a comedy of errors on their part. They couldn't run their printer either. I got my Covid booster and will just walk down to CVS to get my flu shot. Inept pharmacy! Go anywhere else. read more

Horrible customer service. After holding for the pharmacy, I was put through, the phone rang 40+ times, then someone picked it up and hung up. I called back and was placed on hold with a message stating that "there is one call ahead of you ". I have been on hold for 27 minutes and will transfer my Rx to another pharmacy. read more

***For a Walgreens right smack dab in the heart of Downtown Boston, their prices for Evian bottled water were very reasonable; their souvenir magnet selection was pretty limited; in addition, this Walgreens was small and full of tourists so I think locals probably go elsewhere to avoid the long lines*** Parking in this area is very difficult and expensive; there is a pay parking structure very close to this Walgreens though it is expensive. read more

Ah, the ubiquitous signage of Walgreens. It has many a time been my saviour in terms of sudden needs. And I mentioned it to John, my tour guide from the heavens, that suddenly, my feet were not doing so well. We scooted in amidst the boisterous Red Sox fans milling about near the bars and I rushed in to look for the cheapest dingy pair of flip flops possible. Not. No more and at least, not in my size. I was actually humiliated and insulted by Josie, a red head cashier with a ratchet attitude. I almost had to leave out of embarrassment. When I walked up to her, she looked at me as if I had done something rude and said "I'm not open". I said that she had acted Iike I was about to commit a crime. She said "sorry my face looks like this" and made a dramatic circular motion. Her fellow cashiers laughed at me. I get that cashiers at drugstores are a certain type, but please check the attitudes of people in customer service. read more

I am very dissappointed in this location, particularly with the photo center. I dropped off 35mm film for one hour service and to be put on a cd as well on Sunday morning, and came back three hours later to find it not done. The guy who took the film put the wrong date on it, and the guys who were working on it were very unapologetic. I went and got a snack and came back since I was on my lunch break, and they had them ready. The photos weren't cut well, and I tried to load the photos from the cd today, and they didn't load them! So I have to go back yet again. Very sad. I won't use them again for the photo lab, and will try the Ritz Camera on Boylston. I know that also the store is in a small space too, but this store doesn't have a super good selection of regular pharmacy stuff either. The only handy thing about it is that it's open 24 hours. Boston is lacking in such things. I've come to the conclusion that there should be more spas and nail salons open later....that would rawk. read more

This is the WORST experience I have ever experienced in a drug store in my entire life. So bad that I promised the store manager that I would never be back. So far, I have kept my promise and I'm now a CVS customer. This comes after years of being a Walgreens customer (but the one in Brigham Circle, not this one). I went there just to pick up a sale item. The items in the circular are nowhere in this store. You could spend hours looking for what you want and never find it. Then if you do, it won't be marked with the correct price or will be somewhere completely random in the store. A giant treasure hunt for toothpaste! yay! Eventually I did find that item but when it came time to ring it up, the register wouldn't allow it. It should have printed one of those "register rewards" coupons and rang up on sale, but no coupon came out and it didn't rign up on sale. So the manager came over and blamed ME for finding the wrong item. I showed him on the circular that it matched the description exactly. Still, he refused to allow it and then had the nerve to tell me I was cheating the system and trying to steal merchandise. I demanded my money back and will never go there again. All over $2 toothpaste? Really Walgreens, was it worth it? Fire your incompetant and rude managers and maybe you'll have better luck. read more

I happen to like Walgreens. There is no annoying card needed to get the stuff on sale. The aisles are wide and noone is running you over. The store is clean. They are very well stocked, and usually have all the thinghs Im looking for. Also, I would say that the prices are a bit cheaper here (Dove Chocolate 3.99, CVS 4.79). You can always get your TP here on sale. The staff is much nicer and friendlier then the CVS, see my review. This particular location is open 24/7 and carries a wider variety of Boston touristy stuff. So if you need that Boston cup holder or some laffy taffy they've got it. Overall, Im a fan. read more

I'm normally not a huge fan of Walgreens (I prefer CVS for most of my pharmacy needs). However, I stopped in here after getting disgusted with the nail polish selection at Sephora. I wanted to buy some of nail polish in the hot new neon colors popular this summer. Sephora not only had a limited selection of these, but the neon polishes they did have were all about $14. I was like, hmmmm, let's see if Walgreens has a better selection. They did! I picked up about four polishes in the new neon colors. Best of all, they were on sale, and cost about $3 each! read more

The associates were nice asking if I needed help finding anything once I had went to the aisle to find a nasal spray for my nose cause of allergies . When I purchased the nasal spray , the alarm system beeped so I brought it back & told them if they can un sensor it so I don't keep beeping in every store that I'm gonna go to next ..Rude response , "We can't ; the machine is broken. Your fine ." Wow ..excuse you ratchet ass; it's time for you to tell someone to fix that shit then . I didn't even bother calling the manager because all of them are useless so I just took the box out & took my nasal spray out & walked out of the store . Never enter this store again . A gaudy, offensively decorated Walgreens, which I guess is par for the course in the area.

I had two FedEx packages routed to their store for pickup after hours. One of my boxes was so ridiculously oversized I worried aloud about carrying it back to my apartment. The manager helped me extract the contents (shirts in two Christmas gift boxes), and she gave me plastic checkout bags to carry them. This was actually her idea in the first place. They took care of disposing the original box and padding. That was nice and very helpful - thanks, guys. read more

this rating is for their photo center. i've never had a bad experience with the rest of the store so i've added an extra star. they had a special deal going on to receive 25 free prints. i thought i'd give it a try and ordered a ton of prints. when i received them, i was incredibly annoyed to find that they had all been printed matte when i had specified glossy. i even double checked my print order confirmation and yup, they should have been glossy. i hate matte but i figured i could live with them since they were free. then i flipped through the photos and noticed that they had printed super dark and shadowy. it was so bad that in some photos, you couldn't see the person's face. i had to have a bunch of the photos reprinted by snapfish, which is my usual go-to photo printer. they turned out bright and clean (and glossy!) so i know it wasn't the photo file that was dark. i'm sticking with snapfish from now on even if walgreens offers free prints again. the prints may have been free but the time it took to upload all the photos and go there to pick them up... not worth it! read more

the hours for me at this location doesn''t really matter because i don't live around but i do work around on different business. i go there once in a while and the last visit was horrible........while i was in line the csr was helping this elderly women who went to return something and she was threated bad....i end up left the store without buy what i had. i called the store few minutes later and spoke with the store manager who was very sorry for what had happen earlier,,,,,,,,,,,,,store is always clean and organizy.. i usually go to cvs on newbury. some business around this area really need to focus on customer service little more. This store is newly remodeled. Looks great and the shelves are full. Store staff and pharmacists are friendly. Prices are a bit high but that's to be expected in Back Bay. They carry a lot of items for people traveling through the city, mobile chargers, travel sized items, even luggage! I frequent here instead of CVS which is run down and in need of a remodel. read more
