I contracted Roy's landscaping to renovate my garden. This was a significant tear out and…read morerebuilding job, which took them several weeks to complete using a crew of 3 to 4 people. Roy had a tear out team and another team of masons for the stone work. Everyone was very considerate and hard working. To begin, I met with Roy a couple of times and we walked the garden and discussed what was to be done. I had an old waterfall and pond (both concrete) that leaked and over time this had caused my redwood trees to break the drains under my old patio. Damage was done to the patio as well. I needed all new drains, a new flagstone patio and wanted dry stack looking stone walls and new steps going up to the rear garden area. Roy listened to my requests , added some ideas (lights in the walls, designing the slope and curve to the walls, adding pony walls by the new steps, etc). He then provided me with a detailed project proposal and cost estimate for each part of the job. Roy's proposal was not the cheapest, but as he promised (and did) it was the best. Roy and his team did an outstanding job in completing the work. They started and completed the job within the estimated timeframe. Every day the crew was here early, with a supervisor on site. Roy also came by about every other day to meet with me and his team. Where they found issues outside of the scope of the original statement of work (i.e.: tree roots had destroyed drains all the way to the street) we discussed what needed to be done and agreed up front on how to proceed and the additional cost. No surprises at the end. Each day the crew cleaned up after themselves and care was taken not to damage other parts of the garden (plants, etc). They also were considerate about my need to get my car in and out of the driveway through out all the construction. One thing I was really concerned with was drainage for the patio as my back yard slopes toward the house. Roy made sure this was addressed and the patio drains beautifully. The stone work that his team did here was nothing short of superb. My back yard is beautiful and easy to care for now. Bottom line, I found this company to be very professional and highly skilled. I would definitely recommend them!

Well the owner Stephen is anything but! After his initial visit and telling us he WOULD do the job, but he had to finish up another customer and scheduled us for 2 weeks later. That 2 weeks turned into a month of us constantly calling, emailing & texting to even get a response, which was full of excuses. When we finally got an estimate a month later he left off most of what we wanted done! He did revise it after my husband let him know, but by this point we knew this guy was just another flake when he told us he didn't know when he'd even be able to start. WE COULD HAVE HIRED A REAL LANDSCAPER A MONTH AGO AND BE ENJOYING OUR BACKYARD!

Previously, Zac personally did an emergency removal of oak branches that had fallen on 2 cars. That's dedication. Rony Carranza and the crew spent 2 days trimming 26 trees and removing the liquid amber. Mario is the ultimate climber/rigger, safely wielding the chain saw 50 feet up, taking down the giant liquid amber one limb at a time. Also removing the deadwood in the other 40-year old trees. Gonzalo secured Mario's safety lines and caught limbs, J.D. fed the chipper. Rony runs a solid, safe and busy crew.

Standard message and data rates may apply. " For me, this is a definite deal breaker. Yes, supposedly you may opt out by replying "Stop". But in my experience, that is not always reliable, and it pushes extra work on a potential customer. They might or might not be great with their work, but if I can't talk to them without exposing my number to marketing, I will take my business to someone who has greater respect for my privacy and time.

Owen and his designer came over and looked at the property then gave us a quote about a week later. The quote was very hard to read as it had quite a bit of legal jargon. I emailed the designer and I said I am having trouble reading this it looks like it was written by your lawyers. Oh my how these two flipped out. They were on a group email and did not know it. The designer told Owen what we said and Owen responded to him by saying "lawyers, WTF this guy is a dumb ass, I knew they couldn't afford me to begin with." Who's the dumb ass now. Any way we fired them and got a terrific landscaper who we are absolutely happy with.

We obtained other bids, but ultimately selected Owen because of how personable, professional, and knowledgeable he was. We couldn't have been happier with the end result. The ten-week project included a concrete patio, retaining walls and steps, irrigation, drainage, lighting, fencing, pergola assembly, gas and electrical lines, plants, ground cover (gravel and mulch), and fire table and hot tub installation. Owen's crew was skilled, friendly and hard-working. His foremen Al and Nestor were amazing to work with and did an outstanding job leading the project. Owen was closely involved every step of the way. He provided numerous suggestions that either weren't in the original plan from the landscape design company or were an improvement to the original plan. This was one of the biggest reasons we're glad we worked with Mitchell Landscapes - Owen's combination of strong design and practical sense resulted in a landscape that far surpassed the original plan. Owen was also honest, transparent, and fully committed throughout the project. Even after our project was completed, Owen and his crew came back several times to check plants and irrigation, as well as to unload and carry a 600 lb fire table into our backyard. We took out a lot of the grass and installed gravel with beautiful plantings and an olive tree. They built a pergola with privacy screening over our new hot tub. Built raised planter beds and created a fire pit area. They also helped with screens that will trellis vines to provide shade and privacy. We also have a low rock wall that separates the lawn from the gravel area. Mike was great about communicating with us all along the way. I really appreciated his friendly crew. Hagy was very responsive and took our ideas to the next level. Their experience in doing work in the Sonoma area and creative approach brought a wine country touch to our Novato backyard. They even worked around the needs of our dog so it always had a place to go even if the yard was in full demolition mode. They completely transformed our front yard and our backyard and reconstructed our front entrance, meticulously setting beautiful blue stone steps and lighting to enhance our curb appeal. We also asked for help with our backyard and again the Seescape crew did a wonderful job. They are so respectful, hardworking and focused on every detail! They installed a new blue stone back patio, privacy screening, reconstructed a French drain and removed half of our lawn. We had it replaced with a low maintenance creek bed design outlining a mounded planting area to give us a beautiful and unique backyard that offers us a great outdoor dining and living space.
