I contacted this company through the Yelp website for an estimate on a landscaping project on my home. I was told in an email response that the office would contact me to set-up an appointment for them to come out and give an estimate on the project. The appointment was set for a specific day and time. However, 1-1/2 hours after the appointed time the estimator still was not there and he did not call or text to say he could not make it; I just hung around waiting. I emailed the company to say what had happened and asked if someone could get back to me. No respnse. So I followed up with a phone call directly to the company and got no response to that either. Since this is how they treat a potential client I hate to think how they would treat an actual client. They have shown they are extremely rude and thoughtless. read more

We hired Humberto to remove the mulch in our yard and replace with sod and install sprinklers. He was responsive, his team showed up when they said they would and did a great job. Roughly a month later and our sod looks fantastic! He has even offered to come over two times since then to adjust our sprinkler settings without us even asking. We hired Unique for a large landscaping clean up. Roughly 4 acres of overgrown vegetation. Humberto was onsite at all times working side by side with his crew. Humberto responsed right away, and met me the day after I got a hold of him. He gave me ideas, helped to work within my budget and not have the space look like I did it on a budget, and was responsive to every email I sent. They removed my lawn, changed my sprinklers to drip and planted shrubs and ground cover, then dressed the area with bark. Not only did he dress the area I had re-done, but also dressed the rest of my front yard with bark. I came home from work to a great looking yard and am very happy. Im very concerned and disappointed. I have been calling since Wednesday and it is now Monday. They installed lawn Monday and Tuesday at a reasonable price which I appreciate but a strip of it has now died after 1 day and the sprinkler system is leaking. They also left all the yard waste from the job. Now my money has been wasted and then wont return my 5 respectful calls to fix the issues. In regards to your response- you can reply to my yelp but not my phone calls? It would have been nice to inform me of the information in your reply before. Also- why wouldn't you set the sprinkler system so that my lawn would survive not die? The placement is wrong too. In regards to the extra space, I had called to inform you I wanted more space and asked for the new quote but got no response. You cant just take $1500 for a job and leave it to die! This is a warning to all those potential customers who are looking for this company and its owner Humberto to fulfill your landscaping needs...think twice before you do. My experience has been horrible! My first impression of Humberto was a good one...he was punctual most of the time during our communications and seemed to have a decent price. He will tell you that he just wants to make you happy, but beware that couldn't be farther from the truth. I have seen many problems since he finished the job back in October and he has refused to come back and fix them. To him it is about the bottom line...making money...and during the landscaping job even told me that he was losing money on my job because it was taking too long! He also actually tried to invoice me an extra $500 for extra plants he planted when he said that he was adding it for no fee when I talked to him. Such dishonesty! The pictures will speak a thousand words, but I would like to elaborate my dealings with him. The major issue is the concrete sidewalk at the side of my house that he installed. He hired a subcontractor to do the job, but left when the pouring was scheduled and now the sidewalk is sloping away from the drain allowing substantial pooling of water at the side of my house. Although caulked, with time I was told by a structural engineer this will be a huge problem. The concrete steps that were also installed is also not up to code and as you can see from the pics...was not done very well. The second big issue was that I had asked him to plant glauca trees next to my fence to a certain height so they were more visible. He did as I instructed him, but failed to mention the impact it would have on the fence. Now the fence between myself and my back neighbors is bent back and breaking. He advised me when I asked him to install these trees in the front and the impact it would have on the sidewalk, but failed to say anything to me about the back and the impact on the fence. If I was fully aware of this, I would not have asked. Aesthetics is important to me, but not as important as the physical destruction it would have on my backyard fence! Shouldn't such information be his responsibility to convey to me as the subject matter expert? Why choose to tell me sometimes, but not other times? I have now asked him to fix this issue since the New Year and he has refused to come and do anything about it! Among other things...he planted my large front galucas at the front of my house (see pics) so slanted they look like they are going to fall. I've had several of my neighbors comment on that. I mentioned it to his workers when they were planting it back in October and they said it wouldn't happen and if it did, they would come fix it. I have contacted him over 1 month ago about this issue and he has refused to come and fix them. Just like all the other issues I have broached with him he basically gave me a very dismissive response saying that he had so many jobs currently and that he would get to me when he can. I guess getting other people's money is more important than rectifying what he did wrong since he can't make money from fixing my issues. He also burned my grass when they were removing a tree in my front lawn..and promised me that it would grow back. 4 months later...it's still this huge brown spot in the middle of my green grass. I don't think anything is growing there as he promised. The list goes on... The issue now is that I don't expect perfection, but if a customer raises serious issues like the ones I mentioned above, a good and honest contractor would do his best to rectify them. Humberto is not one of these people! So beware...he may seem nice at the beginning, but if he is not making money from your job, he will cut you off and will not fix things that were his responsibility to begin with. read more
