We solicited bids from multiple contractors, ranging from our longtime general contractor (who "had a guy who does pavers") to other paver specialists. Here's why we went with System Pavers and why we can recommend them to other homeowners: --Communication and responsiveness: From the start, our sales consultant, Kelly Casper, was easy to work with. He offered helpful suggestions, explained their process clearly, and responded promptly (sometimes immediately) to any question via text or email. That same level of clear communication and responsiveness carried through with our project manager, Oscar Maciel, who is a consummate professional. --Knowledge and skill: Our project wasn't simple and we had a lot of decisions to make and challenges to solve during the process. For example, our two driveways are at slightly different levels, which required careful consideration with leveling and drainage. We also deliberated about whether we wanted a single or double border. I'm a very hands-on client and asked lots of questions. Oscar troubleshooted everything with me, explained all my options, and we came up with the right approach. Delays and went beyond what they could deliver in the time promised. A lot of this fell on the workers who were being stretched thin on help and vehicles. I tried a second time for driveway pavers. Installation went well however when I had some issues with the work and quality of materials, nobody ever got back to me. I tried social media, their web site, and calling. My third attempt was to schedule a new installation and just tell whoever would contact me I just needed the pavers reset and some of the cracked ones replaced. Someone came out. Took measurements. Said they'd send me an estimate. Crickets. So I am no longer using them or recommend them to anyone who wants a warm body to work with. All three interactions have been with different area people who seem like they have no idea how things work. I wound up ripping out the pavers and having stamped concrete instead. More reliable, cheaper, and the company I went with follows through.

Long overdue review for a project completed last summer. Cristian and his father led a month-long…read moreproject that included removing an existing brick patio, installing tile and turf, updating an outdoor kitchen, adding a pergola, redoing deck railings, and renovating a substantial stretch of around 20 large concrete steps. It was one of our largest house projects to date with many additional findings (a crumbling foundation wall, trash dumped under our deck, rotting fence posts, etc) that were replaced during project construction. The additional charges amounted to a little over 10% of our estimated budget, which was extremely reasonable given the scale and scope of the project. Lastly, communication was thoughtful and responsive with 1-2 day response times and onsite visits, even though Cristian started the project with a one-month old. Cristian and his dad were professional which can't be overstated enough; personally, I found them both to be some of the best contractors I've worked with, where there wasn't tedious over-explanation of technical details or brusqueness/condescension as can happen in the construction industry.

I had asked that we need to replace the barrier underneath. The got it done in about 2 days. The 2nd project we had grass installed in our backyard and get the sprinklers working again (previous owners never got it fixed, so I'm glad that it wasn't any major work). They did it all in one day. They did a fantastic job - so fast, but most importantly, great quality and such good value. I would hire them again for future projects and highly recommend them to others.
