Blue Cypress Landscaping finished my yard a few days ago and I love it more and more everyday! It's not a big yard, it was all overgrown weeds and tall grass. There was a deck that took up a huge amount of space and we had two trees that had been stuck in pots for over a year that needed planting. In just a few days the work crew had cleared out the jungle, laid down beautiful turf, removed 3/4 of the deck and built beautiful new stairs, and planted the trees! It's like adding 700sqft of useable space to our home. Working with Alvaro and Anna was a breeze. The whole process was trouble free. Each of the landscapers who worked on the job was professional, hardworking, and did a beautiful job. I will recommend Blue Cypress to anyone needing a job done. I'm sure I will also be calling them again in the future. read more

We caught Alvaro lying about serious mistakes in the electrical work that his team did as part of the package for doing our backyard. The improper wiring caused damage to our brand new hot tub. We had a third party inspect his work, which discovered additional electrical code violations and safety concerns. Unfortunately his response when we first told him about the bad wiring was to bring over his electrician and try to undo the mistakes without telling us, then claim that everything was fine all along. Well, we have multiple sources of evidence showing what the problem was and how he tried to hide it. Cannot recommend this company based on the outright dishonesty we experienced. One of the trees that he overcharged us for starting dying of root rot within 3 months, due to his team digging the smallest possible hole for the root ball. We dug it up and found the tree roots choking in a pool of old water due to a lack of drainage. A complaint with evidence has been submitted to the Contractors State License Board. read more

Great customer service and a perfect and efficient job at a reasonable price! I would highly recommend them

We did our garden with Alvaro and his team last year in June and we are still very happy about the decision we made. Very communicative, punctual, and always paying attention to the details you want. Also, very efficient. Out project only took about 3 weeks when it could've taken a lot longer if he wasn't so organized! Would definitely recommend. read more

Alvaro and his team were absolutely fantastic. I have found that some landscapers prefer to work with my husband and would rather not communicate with me, but Alvaro never made me feel like talking to me was not enough. He gave me a great estimate right out of the gate and he was able to give me reasoning behind the number. Alvaro made suggestions based on our family having a toddler and dog that I appreciated too. He didn't rush me to make a decision and once the contract was signed, his team was finished with the artificial grass within two days as promised. I'm grateful that I didn't have to be home to oversee the project and they cleaned up all scraps and garbage from the job afterwards. I will definitely be calling Blue Cypress Landscaping for the next job! They're worth every penny! read more

Here's a short, professional, and glowing review you can use: We recently had our fence and backyard work completed, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. The team was consistently on time, professional, and incredibly easy to work with. Their craftsmanship was excellent, and the quality of the work shows. They were honest, reliable, and communicated clearly throughout the project. Highly recommend for anyone looking for top-tier landscaping and fence work. read more

We got full demo of old deck and unsightly random concrete from prior home owner in our backyard, and new pavers put in to line up nicely with existing turf. Blue Cypress did high quality work. Crew worked hard and was on time, ready to go every day. Meticulous in details like measurements and depth. Alvaro himself was on site daily, easy to work with, genuinely nice guy with great personality and character, patient in helping us choose colors for pavers given how big an investment this can be. Met us up at a few landscaping supply spots to compare the differences in pavers and give his input when needed. Price quote was in line with a few other highly rated companies. Not the cheapest. But they put the work in for a quality job and everyone who sees our landscaping is impressed. Main thing though is that we enjoy it. Things like this don't necessarily pay you back in value upon sale of a house but if you plan to stay in the home, may as well love what you have. Thanks for a job well done. read more

I unfortunately let the weeds really take over my property after this season of rain. I sent some quote requests on Yelp, and Blue Cypress responded within an hour. They were honest about having to visit my home before giving a quote. The next day, they came and took a look at the property, I told them what I wanted, and they gave me a quote. They handpicked all the weeds from my front and back yards, and side. They trimmed the bushes I asked them to trim. It took their crew about 7 hours. They were not only respectful to my property, but they even cleaned my outdoor furniture & firepit which they didn't have to do. They also took everything with them, and cleaned up pretty much all loose debris before leaving. Great communication all the way through. 100% satisfied customer. read more

After contacting several contractors to make a patio for my backyard I called Blue Cypress. Best call I made. Alvaro came out and looked my project over and gave me his thoughts about it as well as giving me some different options. It was coming up on a holiday weekend and one of his jobs had just rescheduled. He was able to start right away. His crew was great, arriving on time, getting to work and cleaning up after themselves. The work was done so well that I almost hate to walk on my new patio. Would I use them again? Absolutely! They do such good work, I wish my budget allowed me to use them more often. My yard was a big clean up and re-landscape project. BCL are a very responsive, thorough and fast team. Alvaro was my main contact and he was there every day checking on the workers and checking in with me. He offered some really great ideas some I took and others I could not afford. This is not a fly-by-night company. They clean up after themselves and make certain you are happy. Except for two things I mention at the end, I am very happy. I wish I had before pictures. It was a complete jungle of weeds with planter boxes falling apart and a steep incline that they leveled out a for me. The two things that I didn't like are: 1) I didn't like is the irrigation controller he selected. It's not very user friendly, but it comes with a cheat sheet and I figured it out. And 2) we asked for three 4' X 8' cedar planter boxes and one of them only measures 3.5 X 8. That seems weird as there was plenty of room for the additional 6 inches. It must have been an error. read more

Alvaro and his team were great. We had a couple other estimates done and his quote was competitive. I'll mostly let the pictures speak for themselves but the dry landscaping in the front yard looks amazing and the pavers really opened up the usable space. We can now fit a small trailer on our driveway. Awesome! As much as we love the front yard the work done on our hillside terraces is our favorite feature. Previous builders had put a lot of work into the concrete/stone structure but the bark and unlevel ground did not make it very inviting for adults or safe for children. Blue Cypress leveled the ground, put up fencing, and laid turf. It's a great little hideaway on hot days or when we just need to get out. I look forward to using our backyard much more. Other than the work done, communication was very timely, quote was accurate, crew cleaned up at the end of the day nicely, and Alvaro was onsite every day. We looking forward to continuing the relationship on some smaller projects. read more

We needed a new deck built in our backyard. Contacted 4-5 local deck builders/ landscapers/ contractors. One was Blue Cypress Landscaping who was doing a project at another house near us. They had nice clean trucks and equipment. Alvaro from Blue Cypress called me back the same day and set up an appointment for the next day. Alvaro showed up on time and presentable. We discussed what we wanted and Alvaro had some suggestions too. Alvaro sent me his quote the next day with a potential starting date. We approved his quote and scheduled a start date for two weeks later. His crew showed up on time ready to work and proceeded to demolish the old deck. Meanwhile the redwood lumber and the wood for the supporting structure was delivered. The whole job took three days like Alvaro quoted. His crew kicked ass. Its a beautiful and sturdy redwood deck finished off with two great looking steps on two sides. Before The Blue Cypress Landscaping crew left, they cleaned up everything. NICE! Oh, the other quotes? A few didn't return my inquiries, a few had vague and much higher quotes, a few were just dirty-no way. Any other projects around my house? We're contacting Blue Cypress Landscaping! read more

Alvaro did an excellent job installing our new mailbox. Blue Cypress helped me with a more backyard transformation including a new bocce court, pavers and compacted granite. First, they were very responsive and detailed in their competitive bid (vs 3 other shops). Next, they were all-in on my design ideas and offered plenty of options to make it better and materials options at very competitive pricing. Third, they went over the top in 1) bucketing my raised bed vegetables and watered daily to help them survive a move across the yard over 3 weeks 2) going out of their way to find and pickup trellises and jasmine plants for a late add while 3) rerouting all of the irrigation pipes throughout the backyard and 4) leaving the space spotless upon completion including a fair amount of stuff they didn't directly contract to do. They were busting their butts all day every day in 100 degree weather and just the nicest crew to have in my backyard for a month. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone. read more

Alvaro and his crew transformed our overgrown, weed/gravel mess of a yard (that we "inherited" from the previous owners) into a beautiful lawn area for our 1- and 2-year-old to play. They installed new sod, irrigation and removed a pressure reducing valve from the old drip system that was causing problems with the new sprinklers. Alvaro is the easiest person to communicate with and is VERY responsive. A real genuine person! He really cares about his company and their quality of work. His prices are quite reasonable (we got several estimates) and I believe he knows how to work "smarter not harder" which helps keep his costs down. His crew was a pleasure and very considerate of our property, leaving everything cleaner than when they arrived. We would not hesitate to hire Blue Cypress for future projects, and they have already completed a job at my Moms house after she saw what a beautiful job they did at ours. We couldn't be happier! *as a side note, they will use your green yard waste bin and garbage to dispose of what they can, so just communicate with them what is okay and what is not (if they need to save room for you). read more

Alvaro and his crew are true professionals. I received several estimates for my backyard landscaping and decided to go with Blue Cypress after finding them on Yelp and looking at pictures and other reviews. From start to finish, Alvaro was always professional, punctual and reasonable. Blue Cypress took my backyard from nothing and made it into a beautiful place we will enjoy for years to come. Alvaro and his crew showed up everyday on time and worked hard throughout the day. At the end of the day, they always cleaned up and put their tools away and/or organized them. This impressed me, as this was something did not have to do but did it anyways. Alvaro and his crew did over 800 sq feet of stamped concrete, 600 sq feet of artificial turf, 30 feet of raised planter boxes and an amazing 10x15 pergola. When it was complete, I couldn't be happier. If you're looking for landscape construction, look no further. You'd be making a mistake not to give Blue Cypress your business. Great business, great crew, great owner. Thank you, Alvaro and crew. **** please note in the photos that the backyard has incomplete areas and is not completely finished. This was no fault of Blue Cypress. I left these areas blank so I could finish as a DIY project, including the small hog wire fence in the background. read more

I called on a Friday and scheduled someone to come out on Sunday to give me an estimate. He was able to schedule it for the very next morning! They did an amazing job pruning my 6 olive trees. They were overgrown and not properly pruned within the last 2 years, so it was quite the job. The price was fair and the work was great. They also cleaned up the whole tree area with a blower and secured one of the trees, so it will start growing more straight. I will definitely call them again for pruning! Great work! read more

Alvaro came out quickly to give a quote and his crew did an excellent job with sling down a CB large tree and cleaning up.

Called to describe the sort of work I needed which was for a single family home in Santa Rosa. I basically needed the front of our home spruced up a bit by, as I explained, 3-4 new drought tolerant plants and getting my irrigation started again and then monthly maintenance. After explaining our front yard was not very large he first three out a dollar figure of $300 per month for maintenance and immediately asked if I first, " would be ok with that"? Then when I started to ask about the initial work to plant 3-4 plants and start up the existing irrigation he instantly quoted me a firm $800.00! Keep in mind he doesn't know where in town our home is, address, nothing...I feel this company just in it for the money. Can't speak for they're other customers, but this is my experience today. read more

We are so happy with Alvaro and Blue Cypress! Super responsive, friendly and knowledgeable. With very little description, he understood exactly what he wanted, and had great suggestions besides. Alvaro and his team did a dynamite job taking down a very large tree in my backyard that was very close to my house. They completed the project in 1 day when all other companies said it would take two days, and they completely cleaned up all debris that had been made. These guys worked for 10 hours straight. They had to take out a few large plants of mine in order to get the tractors into my backyard and at the end of the day instead of replanting them, Alvaro said he would come back and plant new ones. His team had also partially bent a draining pipe that was near the tree which he said he would fix. Three days after completely the project, two guys from his team came and replaced all three plants, and completely replaced the pipe. They left my property better than how they found it. I am beyond impressed with Blue Cypress Landscaping and look forward to using them for my landscaping needs in the future. Thanks Alvaro! read more

Alvaro called me back right away and came over quickly to look at what we wanted done to our yard. He listened to what we wanted and had several good idea. It was a "big job" for us, and he was very organized and had great skills in getting things done right. We had hired somebody several year ago to do the draining, it as it was dug up on the new job, we could see it had not been done right. But Alvaro did a super job putting in a proper French Drain to reduce flooding. His workers were careful and did everything so it will last a long time. When they were almost done, he asked if we wanted the front yard "fixed up" to compliment the back yard. Good idea...now it looks like a show home.
