ZERO STARS. DO NOT BUY A USED CAR FROM WALDORF FORD. I'm updating this review to remove the stars entirely because this was one of the most dishonest and frustrating dealership experiences I've ever had. When we were first looking at the car, it had an active check engine light. That's usually a hard stop for me. Craig brushed it off and told us it was "probably just an oxygen sensor." Miraculously, the very next day, the light was gone. I specifically asked to see documentation showing what work was done to make that light disappear. Waldorf Ford gave me a work order claiming wiper blades and an oxygen sensor were replaced. That already raised red flags, but against my better judgment, we moved forward. Fast forward less than two weeks. The car has barely been driven -- 3.4 miles a day to school and back and ONE short highway drive. And right on cue, the same check engine light comes back. I contacted Craig immediately. His solution? Take it to a third-party shop and deal with it myself. I asked him directly if Waldorf Ford was really saying they weren't responsible for an emissions issue on a car they sold two weeks ago that's still on temporary tags. His response (verbatim): "Yeah but we ain't know that would show after 2 weeks but of course it might be some replacements once purchased it was under $19k I believe." So apparently the price of the car determines whether the dealership stands behind what they sell. I'm not speculating. I'm not exaggerating. I will be having BMW perform a forensic diagnostic, which can show exactly when the fault codes were cleared. That will tell the full story. If you're shopping here, understand this: a warning light being off doesn't mean a problem was fixed. It may just mean it was temporarily silenced long enough to make the sale. False Advertising I came into Waldorf Ford to purchase a 2025 F150 Lariat. The dealership falsely advertised the price for the truck online and refused to honor the advertised price when I showed up. The advertised price was $62,792 plus tax/title and minus whatever rebates I qualified for (I qualified for an extra $2k in rebates between military and first responder available rebates). The 2 managers Floyd and Adam offered to sell the truck at $63,700 and claimed the reason being a delivery fee. The delivery fee was already included in the $62k advertised price and was clearly displayed in the online advertisement. All fees were included in the advertised price except tax/title. I requested to speak to Floyd's manager or higher up regarding the false advertisement. Floyd fraudulently informed me through the salesman that he was the owner of the dealership and there was nobody higher to speak with. The dealership ultimately refused to sell me the truck at the advertised price. Floyd and the salesman admitted that they posted the advertised price to get people in the door but that they could not sell the truck at that price. I am writing to formally document my experience with Waldorf Ford and to advise prospective customers to exercise caution when considering doing business with this dealership. In January 2026, I purchased two new vehicles from Waldorf Ford--a Ford Mustang and an F-150 Lightning. At the time of delivery, the F-150 Lightning was missing the factory charger and had noticeable scratches throughout the bed liner. Both vehicles were sold as new, and these issues should have been identified and resolved prior to delivery. I was required to drive approximately two hours back to the dealership to address these deficiencies, which reflects poorly on their quality control and customer service processes. More concerning, I have yet to receive permanent registration tags for either vehicle. I have communicated with multiple representatives at the dealership via email and telephone and have received inconsistent explanations without meaningful resolution. I have formally notified the dealership that if the permanent tags for both the Mustang and F-150 Lightning are not received prior to the expiration of the temporary tags, I will pursue formal remedies available to me. The dealership had no difficulty accepting my Cadillac Escalade as a trade-in along with additional cash consideration; however, they have failed to timely provide the registration and tags that were paid for as part of the transaction. This ongoing delay has created unnecessary inconvenience and legal exposure. Throughout this process, communication has been inconsistent and, at times, unprofessional. My attempt to escalate the matter to the General Sales Manager did not result in a satisfactory resolution. While I was informed that the tags "should" arrive, there has been no clear accountability or documented timeline provided. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Waldorf Ford. Consumers should carefully evaluate their options and ensure that all documentation, registration, and delivery obligations are fully satisfied before completing a transaction with this dealership. read more

I would like to consider this experience a one-time issue, but honestly, I'm not sure. I'm writing this to share my candid review of my recent repair and the subsequent follow-up experience. My AC was blowing hot air, so I had it repaired on June 18th, 2024, at a cost of $715.83 (this price includes an oil change). The issue was a duct leak on the passenger side. Unfortunately, a little more than a month later, the AC was blowing hot air again. I attempted to reach the dealership's service department multiple times between July 26th and July 31st, leaving two voicemails. I was told that my messages would be relayed to the service advisor, Kira. On Wednesday, July 31st, 2024, I finally spoke with Kira to schedule a follow-up repair and arrange for a rental car. Kira informed me that she would check on availability and call me back on Thursday, August 1st, or Friday, August 2nd, 2024. However, despite sending a text to the dealership and following up by phone on August 2nd, I received no response. I followed up again on August 5th, 2024, and spoke with Breina (whom I'll refer to as Bre), the appointment coordinator, who initially informed me that I was ineligible for loaner car coverage and that none were available. After requesting that she escalate this issue to the service director, she informed me that a loaner would now be available for me and scheduled an appointment for Friday, August 9th at 9:15 AM. On Friday, August 9th, 2024, I called the dealership at 7:30 AM to confirm if a loaner vehicle was available and was told by Bre that no rental cars were available. I was placed on hold for a total of 29 minutes before speaking with my service advisor, Eric, who explained that while they had loaners at the dealership, there were no dealer tags available, so they were unable to lend them out. He also mentioned that the dealership covering the cost of a rental car out of pocket was not an option. After weeks of dealing with this issue, I still have no resolution, despite spending $715.83 on an AC repair. I understand that sometimes things happen. I'm not faulting Waldorf Ford for the lack of dealer tags. What's disappointing, as a long-time Ford customer, is that I have been the one initiating contact with the dealership. No one has reached out to update me. Had I not called this morning, I would have driven more than 30 minutes to Waldorf, only to be told no vehicle was available for me. The only resolution I want is a functioning air conditioner to offset the record-high temperatures of this Maryland summer. Before I begin, I debated writing this review because I already know what the owner or management's response will be: "This isn't the experience we want. Please reach out, etc., etc." We're currently in the market for a Ford Ranger Raptor and noticed that the Ford dealership in Waldorf had two in stock, both with black exteriors. I submitted an inquiry and completed the Ford pre-qualification process. On October 10th, I heard back from Dante, who followed up multiple times via email and text, asking when we would come in to see and test drive the truck. I told him we'd likely stop by on the 11th. So, we made the drive up from Fredericksburg. When we arrived, we saw one of the trucks parked on the median and the other near the dealership's entrance. We were greeted by a soft-spoken salesperson, Reggie (I believe that was his name). I was upfront with him, explaining that we weren't buying that day since we were in the process of refinancing our home and wanted to finish that before taking on new credit. However, I had pre-qualification, and since we don't currently own a pickup, we wanted to make sure it would be a good fit before moving forward. I made this clear before even stepping inside the dealership because I didn't want to give the impression we'd be buying that day. Assuming we liked how it drove, we planned to return in a week with a check from our bank. Reggie took us inside, had me verify my information in their system, and asked for my ID for the test drive, which I had already confirmed with Dante the day earlier. After some time, Reggie returned with a scanned copy of my ID, details printed out on a piece of paper, and the truck's key. We headed outside to the truck, where Reggie then informed us that management wasn't allowing test drives. I reiterated that the whole point of our visit was to test drive the truck. I didn't need to see the exterior -- I'd already seen that online. I wanted to drive it. Reggie asked us to wait while he spoke with management again. A few moments later, he returned and said management didn't want anyone putting additional miles on the truck. My wife, who had already started the truck and seen the odometer, pointed out that it already had miles on it, which seemed to surprise Reggie. He responded, "It does?" At that point, I told Reggie that we could go back inside, where I would take the printed copy of my information and be on my way. He asked if I wanted to speak with management, and I declined. There was no reason to speak with them after I had coordinated and confirmed the test drive the day prior. Needless to say, we didn't buy our new Ranger Raptor from this dealership. Even though he has my phone to text, he still hasn't texted me back or acknowledged my visit. David B - Waldorf, MD: Avoid Southern Maryland Auto Group. The service there is take it or nothing. Spent $80K there and can't complete my bedliner, cover, or undercoat. The communication there is terrible leading to numerous false statements and training issues. Per a previous review, the shenanigans continue. The manager finally calls my husband back after we have been trying to speak to Alistar since mid-February about the AC issue. It was agreed to bring my truck in and receive a loaner while they take my truck to the repair shop with the compromise of paying half. Which we should not have to do anyway according to the Attorney General "A used car dealer in Maryland may only sell a car "as is" if it is more than six years old and has more than 60,000 miles." Get a call within a couple of hours later stating the repair is $3000 - we would be responsible for 1500 of the bill. My husband is asking questions regarding the situation and their expectation from us. The gentleman is basically telling him it's this or nothing. At this point, I will just refrain from dealing with them any further. All contact/communication will be advised thru our attorney. It's a shame that I can not fully enjoy my gift from my husband. This is a learning experience - by the time we finished paperwork, the dealership was basically closed. We had to ride home with the truck sticker on the window, and the car was not cleaned because everyone had already gone home. IF IT IS LATE WHEN FINAL PROCESS IS COMPLETE , LEAVE THE CAR UNTIL STAFF CAN PROPERLY HAND OFF THE VEHICLE. The accountant did not give us our signed paperwork/hard drive. We had to come back twice to finally be able to receive it. A third time to have the car cleaned. But it was ok until there was an issue. I give the benefit of the doubt. My daughter purchased a used car and they deceptively added a very expensive warranty to her loan by telling her she was getting just an inexpensive maintenance package. When we tried to cancel it , we went round and round with them for months. They falsely told us it was being cancelled or was in the process, it wasn't. They would not answer their phones or emails or return messages. We had to contact and battle with them over and over until it was finally cancelled but we are still trying to get the refund and no one is answering us, In the meantime she has been paying interest on a large sum of money that was added to her loan. read more

However, after 2 weeks, they still have not paid off my trade in. That means that a payment I'm responsible for is now over due. I've left several messages for the GM, but have not been called back. Strangely, the voice mail they keep putting me in does not identify who I'm leaving a message for. And, no one at the dealership knows how to answer the phone - I've waited several minutes for an answer and, once answered, I was once hung up on when I asked a question. The service dept showed me a package what was over 1k, I guess I was not clear in my request. I have since seen the package on EBAY for less than 200. When I received the car there were liquid stains in the back seats and the carpet was still very dirty. Was interested in a used car and buying out of state. They said that is no problem and we starting working on numbers. First issue with the dealership, the "military appreciation" discount of $500 only applies to new cars, however was listed on over 40 pictures of the used car I was interested in. I did a credit app through them once numbers were set and through my own banks to find out they only treat it like a cash deal and money has to be wired. NO CHECKS. After this conversation my bank was willing to provide any documentation needed to prove the check was good and valid and work with them. Finance director ignored my calls after this and never checked with my bank. Called my sales rep back to follow up and was told someone is paying more than me right now and that she thought he told me they wouldn't sell it to me. Communication was terrible. The military appreciation is a joke. CEO/GM need to check in and work on communication and customer service. After 2 months It happened again the same problem, then they said they have to replace something else and charge me again for $1300. Customer service has been so bad I bought a brand new 2024 super duty truck at the end of August that had a small scrape by the drivers door the salesman made note of it and said no biggie we can take care of it on Monday September 2 , well it's the end of September and it still hasn't been taken care of , I went by 2 times and once the repair guy didn't show up and the next time he did but couldn't fix it.
