Delicious breakfast at a great price! We both ordered the breakfast platter and everything was cooked perfectly -- the eggs and bacon were just right. I especially loved the grits, and the marble rye toast was delicious. We started with a cinnamon roll that was fresh, warm, and had the perfect amount of icing and cinnamon. Here we have a wonderful Cafe family owned. We walked in, open available seating chairs and booths and bar seating. Immediately greeted and seated. Madison was our server and very attentive with menus, drinks on top of refills and orders. Place is very clean, clean restrooms, atmosphere is very quiet/ average with lovely history news paper dividers, decorative table with ads. No kids menu, or crayons... not worthy of knocking off a star because the interactions with our awesome waitress Madison. Onto the food! We're greeted with a beautiful complimentary Cinnamon rolls home made, served warm! Delicious Portions are generous and enough to share or have leftovers. Kitchen sink scramble and it was packed with flavor from the meats with a nice biscuit home made. Pulled pork eggs Benedicts also generous portion, with pulled pork.. sweet, juicy and tender. Coleslaw was crisp and fresh on top of english muffin. Eggs cooked perfectly with the sauce added a nice touch to cut the sweet meat. Our kiddos just had Pancakes and French toast which is pretty standard not memorable but no need to knock off any stars. We're from out of town, so this was a great little breakfast place to enjoy before we take off towards the airport. They start you out with a complementary fresh made cinnamon roll. I apologize for not getting a picture. They are excellent. Just the right amount of icing and cinnamon. My wife got the Denver omelet with potatoes and an English muffin. She said it was the best Denver omelet she has had. It was a lot of food. I got the breakfast platter: eggs, sausage and instead of potatoes and bread I opted for the French toast. As you can tell from the picture I started eating before I snapped the picture. Everything was delicious. A good hardy breakfast at very reasonable prices. Everything I look for when I go out for breakfast. I can't wait to go back and try them for lunch. I have ordered breakfast twice; both times I got the breakfast sandwich with American cheese, fried egg, and turkey sausage. I love that they offer turkey sausage, because a lot of other popular breakfast spots only offer pork. I have also ordered the pancakes, which are delicious! For less than $4, you get a giant pancake. I love the value too-everything on the breakfast menu is $12 or less, and the portion sizes are generous. A group from work had breakfast here. The total experience was excellent. I will be coming back with Mr. G. The resuraunt was able to easily accommodate our group of 14 people. There were plenty of cinnamon rolls, in fact our waitress brought out a second plate before we ordered. The coffee was good, the half and half, that wasn't flavored, was in good supply on the table, and the coffee service was good, in that I didn't have to ask for a refill, the refill was provided in a timely manner by the staff. Our waitress has a great sense of humor and was ready to joke with our group. Now onto the food. It is hard to choose what to order. I stepped out of my usual bacon and eggs breakfast platter and had the Tomato, Avocado, Spinich Omlette. The clincher on this was the hollandaise sauce. This came with grits (which needed salt - and salt was on the table), and I ordered a biscuit. Which was yummy. The servings were huge, so I had to get a to go box. Our second visit to Waldo Café took place late in the day at 2pm on a Saturday-one hour before closing time. Shortly after we walked in, the door was locked, and the shades were pulled. The cinnamon roll was tasty, but it had been tossed around and was in pieces. The potatoes were cold, dry, and very tough as if they had been in a warmer for quite some time. The eggs and biscuits were fresh. Our server was attentive and friendly just like last time. Our decision to visit the restaurant so late in the day resulted in diminished food quality and overall experience.
