It was ready on a Friday but I was running late, so I just figured I would pick it up on Monday. Monday was the day that this artwork would be presented as a gift at an event in the afternoon. Now it turns out that they are closed on Mondays WHICH IS CLEARLY PRINTED ON THE DOOR. They are open on the weekend and I, being not too bright sometimes, did not look up the hours. COMPLETELY MY FAULT. So I panicked. Then emailed at the contact info on the website begging for help. One of the owners called me within a few minutes and then he came to the store to let me get my art. Understand, this was all my fault and they had no obligation to do this. Her professionalism, honest demeanor, knowledge and ability to answer questions, and eye for detail were all extremely helpful during my visits. Both of my pieces look excellent and are hanging proudly. Second, I want to praise Big Picture Framing for keeping their store as safe for customers and staff as possible. Obviously handling artwork and objects of customers during a pandemic opens their staff and the next patrons to increased risk. Wearing masks, providing hand sanitizer, clearly marking areas to walk and stand, and having signs displayed to not touch samples is a big help. The staff also keeps the door locked and has moved to an appointment process to minimize people in the store. Even for pickup of finished items, they will meet you at the door with your items to inspect and carry away to your home. Overall, Big Picture Framing is doing a wonderful job during these times. They are there to support their customers, so I hope you will continue to support them just as I have done.

ASF stands behind their quality work which begins with pick up/intake, suggestions for best exhibiting items, and constructions that are precise and sturdy. The prices at ASF are not only competitive, they are beyond reasonable, if not inexpensive, for 5 star frames. On the rare occasion I require rapid turnaround, ASF is accommodating. This is a review of the one in Cambridge, I think they have other locations, but I've never been to any of those. Here's the deal... Service - the two ladies that work at A Street are probably the sweetest most amazing people I've ever interacted with in a retail setting. They don't rush anyone, they help you make good framing decisions, and they genuinely love art and framing and making customers happy. I've been there three times in total, and these ladies know my name, they remember who I am, etc. Prices - custom framing is expensive. I don't exactly know how these guys "stack up" because it's a very difficult service to comparison shop. My guess is these guys are a little more expensive than your average framing shop. I felt VERY well treated with regard to price. Quality - A Street is a very rare bird. They actually make many of their frames in house.... so they are actually a TRUE custom framer. This means that they actually modify and create frames from scratch all the time. I just brought in a painting that was an odd size, and they are going to mill out the rabbit so that it fits perfectly into the back of the frame! Go ask a regular "custom" framing shop to do something like that and they will look at you like you have three heads. These guys suggested it to me! The frames they stock are top notch, many are made in-house. A Street supplies to other framers as well... so they havea manufacturing arm. Timeliness - Sooo if you are in a huge rush, I'm not sure this is the place for you. I wouldn't know since I've never actually asked them to rush anything. I generally am cool with waiting several weeks or longer. Long story short, in my opinion, this is a place that values quality and execution over price and speed. The people are exceptional, the work quality is amazing (I think I am having my tenth thing framed with them), and you will be extremely pleased. I would run, not walk, here.
