I cannot say enough good things about Schott Plumbing and water line boring/drilling contractor Waker Plumbing. I had a leak in the water line somewhere between my water meter and the shut off valve located inside in a utility closet in the center of my house - the leak was not visible but was confirmed by the county water department after I asked them to inspect because my water bill was astronomical - the county inspector said he knew there was a leak underground because the water meter continued to run after the valve was shut off, and no other leak was visible. I first called another plumber, who believed the leak was beneath the slab and said they would need to excavate a trench through my yard, cut through the concrete sidewalk the concrete front porch the foundation and the concrete slab inside my house and excavate all the way to the shut off valve to replace the line beneath the slab. Their quote was staggering, I call Schott for a second opinion. Chris at Schott came out right away - he said the line outside the house was likely the only problem given the age of my home and the home builder - he had done many similar homes in my neighborhood and said the line to the house was a common problem given the home's age, and the materials used by the construction industry when my house was built - and the proper way to fix that was to have the water line boring experts at Waker Plumbing drill beneath the yard and bring in a new water line to the house - in his opinion there was likely no need to excavate a big trench, or cut into the concrete slab or do extensive damage to my home and yard. His price was very reasonable. The crews from Schott and Waker came out within a few days, as scheduled - two guys from Schott and two from Waker, with big equipment on trailers - they knew exactly what they were doing, were fast and efficient. They did an excellent job - they drilled and installed a new line beneath my yard from the meter to the house, cleaned up nicely afterwards (you can hardly even tell they were here!) and they were done within 3 hours. When they were done they confirmed there was no other leak beneath the slab. So the first plumber was wrong. I am Very Thankful for their expertise - they saved me a huge amount of money and a huge amount of mess, disruption and damage to my home. No need to cut the concrete. No need to replace flooring. almost no damage to my yard. Schott and Waker are honest, reasonably priced, and professional - I recommend them highly. Thank You. read more

I called them on 11/1/23 to request service for my gas fireplace that wasn't distributing gas properly to the burners. had read recommendations for them on Facebook on gas FP. on 11/3 they called and came out. he quickly diagnosed the issue and had the burner operating properly in less than an hour. the cost was very reasonable and same as I was quoted when I called. another fireplace company in dayton I called quo more than twice what I paid Waker and we're scheduling weeks out. great experience with Waker read more

Lost hot water with house full of visitors. Mike got someone out first thing Monday. They diagnosed, returned to repair and filled hole in slab in 24 hours. Didn't even have to make a claim although luck was on my side. Plumbers were polite, communicated well and cleaned up very nicely. AVOID THIS COMPANY? Called with emergent situation, man who answered call not receptive at all and very rude. Advised someone would call back. 48 hours later no call back, (despite us calling back). Already have our new hot water heater installed by a responsive company. Good for you right now you can IGNORE customers... won't stay that way. Rude and obnoxious plumber. Hired him to fix a water hose knob and he uses a cheap one, it breaks within two months and then charges $125 to replace it, stating that, "it was a cheap knob" to only replace it with the same knob, again. Also, he was instructed to call me before starts the work and he didn't, leaving a bill for something he fixed prior. This guy is a crook. Knowingly, I am deploying here soon, he choose to overcharge a military family. Unpatriotic! read more

We have used Waker Plumbing for years. Everything from installing a steam room, fixing the occasional toilet issues that come with teen boys and their friends. They did an amazing job when we finished our basement. We even put in a urinal (hence the teen boys). My dad and husband used them in their building business as well. Respectful team that actual cleans up after themselves which is a rarity. Would and have recommended them to anyone that has ever asked. read more

I had called them & left a message with guy in office. Did NOT get a call till the following week about a leaking faucet! Plumber Mike left voice mail. I had called him back in office but was gone. they gave me Mike's cell #. Talked with him said he would be there the following morning 1st thing around 8 AM. There was no show, no call by 10:20 or so and I called shop again they said call his cell. Told them was not doing that. (I was tired of doing their admin skills). Last Thursday night after arriving home from work I noticed a strong gas smell n my closet. I called Vectren immediately and was warned to leave the house and wait outside (in my warm car) until the gas man arrived. He arrived shortly thereafter and used his meter (like a Geiger counter) to determine if there was a leak. I watched as the meter sounded like it was going to go off the charts. He advised me to leave the house with him, that there was an external leak feeding into the house. He found the approximate location of the leak and turned off the gas flow to the house. This was approximately 11 PM that night. The next morning I called Waker Plumbing, because I had seen their trucks in our neighborhood, at 7:40 A.M. They arrived by 8:30, which was amazing to me. By 10:30 they had the repair completed found another leak and repaired it too. At this time all of the repairmen left but one. He stayed until the county inspector arrived, a couple of hours later, and signed off on the repair. At that time Vectren was again called and they came out and turned on my gas. All was well. I would especially like to acknowledge the expediency of Waker Plumbing's reply, repair and their efficiency. They were gentlemen, respected the property and cleaned up afterwards. Their professionalism was beyond anything I would have expected. Thank you Waker Plumbing! I can say the same for Vectren's emplyees. They were professional, timely, efficient and courteous.
