When I got home from work, the AC unit was still not working. I contacted them and the owner was at my house within 20 minutes. The problem was diagnosed and fixed. Upon packing up, he went and got the check my wife had written earlier in the day and told us because of the error, he was not charging us anything. We tried to argue that his time was valuable but he was hearing none of it and wouldn't accept anything for fixing our problem. I won't use anyone else from this point on. Honesty and integrity hard to find these days and when you run across them, you keep it close by.

The technician then laughed and said "whoops, I think my math was wrong."We still ended up paying them $350 but it was worth it to get them out of our house. Had 2 other replacement estimates done by 2 other companies; both were less than $7,000. Not even sure if con artist is a strong enough term. In 1986, Stuart Robinson came out on a cold January night. He got the emergency heat running until they could replace the unit. I have never had any issues or problems in the past. Recently, Jason came out for the annual Fall service. With his camera he located a crack (not a good thing in the heat exchanger) on the video. The initial reaction was to replace the furnace. So we had another bid and he inspected and he failed to find a crack in the heat exchanger. Obviously we were confused at this point. So we hired a third service company to evaluate the unit. Again they came back with a diagnosis of "no crack". I did not know what to do. Nate Robinson (Nate is a licensed Mechanical engineer. Not many service companies have such expertise.) volunteered to come out with the service technician and replace the heat exchanger. I was shown TWO cracks. I apologized immediately for casting doubt. TWO heat and air companies missed TWO cracks. Do not doubt Robinson Heat and Air. Call them You and your family and pets lives may depend on it. Robinson not only charged her a 95 dollar service fee, which okay I completely understand for coming out. Hooked up a new thermostat which are typically builders series junk, showed her that the heat was now working. Then told her it would be FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS TO INSTALL. The irony it was already installed, when she said that was outrageous he uninstalled it and left. No heat, in December for an elderly disabled member of the community who has spent who whole life doing incredible things locally for those in need. This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever head and I've worked in the home improvement industry for 10 years. Middletown you have a choice of which small business you choose, Robinson heating and air does not care about their customers nor community. My wife has asthma and other breathing issues as well as an aneurism. This unit was supposed to help alleviate her breathing issues on very hot and/or cold days. This has been nothing short of a fiasco. Minutes after the technician left, it began leaking water all over the floor. The tech 'forgot' to check the drain hose and had to come back out to repair it within hours. Only days later, we had to call them back out because it ceased to cool during one of the hottest days of the year. After sending multiple technicians, it was determined that all the coolant had leaked out because of an improper flange installation on the outside unit. The next issue was a faulty flange on the inside unit which, again, leaked coolant. After that repair, it still has failed to work, this time when we tried to heat the room during the recent cold spells. Same story, no coolant, only this time supposedly a manufacturing defect. After six months of this, I'm still waiting for some kind of resolution. After weeks of inquiries as to the status of the repairs/replacement, I can't get them to return my phone calls despite repeated promises to do so.
