This is not a superstore. Just a small one, like the size of a Tesco Metro maybe. They don't accept American Express. But come on. Who cares really? There are affordable alternatives to every expensive brand in the market. Be it chocolates, biscuits or breakfast cereals (actually a lot more, but I'll just stop here). I've heard some of my friends say that ALDI's milk doesn't last as long as what is written on the can, but I'm yet to find one like that.

As you would expect from discount supermarkets like Aldi and Lidl, you do have to queue for a while because there are only 1 or 2 members of staff at the checkout and you do need to bring your own shopping bags, otherwise Aldi can charge you. Also Aldi do not accept credit cards as payment, only cash and debit cards. We might take all these things for granted in other supermarkets, but Aldi do this in order to help keep their costs down and pass some of lower costs down to us customers. Overall, Aldi offers better quality food than Lidl.

I was surprised that they actually sell lentils here, so that is a nice bonus for people who like eating lentils! Obviously, this is a place if you really need some food or drink in a hurry, so you do pay more money for this convenience. It is really a busy place to be and I think it is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It certainly has longer opening hours than Somerfield. I prefer the Somerfield though.

This is precisely what I use this Sainsburys for as I usually order my groceries online. However, this is a big enough grocery shop to do ones' weekly shop in, which I have done occasionally. There is generally a decent selection of goods in this large store and it's also perfect for stopping in later at night on the way home from a meal in Bromley to pick up that spare bottle of wine or that extra pint of ice cream!

We have shopped happily at this store for quite a few years, but from Nov 12th 2018, when the new parking rules start we will have to go elsewhere. 90 minutes maximum for a full weeks shopping, spending maybe £90/£100 each time is not conducive to a happy experience under such a limit....certainly no time to use the restaurant for a coffee break. The changes we are told is because people are using the car park who are not shopping in the store....so Waitrose are penalizing its regular weekly shoppers who cannot conform to a 90 minute limit.....don't you want our £90/£100 per week....you need to rethink such a silly idea.

However.this week it's undergone a makeover! It was shut for 10 days and is now like a brand new store - spacious, well lit, better laid out - and the thing I love about the Co Op is their focus on fair trade products. It was a much needed face-lift that's for sure. As a result this little supermarket is a lot more of an inviting place to shop in. They have a car parking space too. A lot of the local residents use this place as their main local supermarket. It's not my preferred supermarket, but this Co-op is much, much better than it used to be!

Unfortunately it is also a bit of a zoo during Saturday and Sunday afternoons and it can be very stressful getting round the aisles (though it does make for a quick shopping trip as we are not keen to linger!)
