The burger was the highlight of the visit. Portioned well, rich and meaty, with fresh toppings, and the fries were just tight. VERY lowkey establishment with a very eclectic local representation at the bar and behind it. Everyone seemed to know each other and having fun at each other's expense... I just tried to stay as background noise and enjoy my burger with Modelo Negra. It's a solid stop if you just need a quick bite and beer. Just don't sit at a table waiting for a waitress... counter service at the bar will get you there.

Great food and ambience always welcoming. Food is always outstanding. Must have whenever you pass through Patagonia.

This is an old saloon that was built in 1937. It's dark it has plastic red and white check table cloths. But it served a damn good burger. It's just another one of those small towns and it's one of the eateries and I would definitely go again not fancy but definitely OK.

What a surprise find. Adorable, old time, rustic bar. Fun interior. Local's favorite, I'm sure. We shared a huge burger that was excellent. Next time we're in the area, we'll stop by again.

First time here. Service was amazing. I really enjoyed the cozy tavern feel environment. Food was great! Went with the char-broiled cheese burger and fries and easily my new favorite burger. I'll definitely make the drive to go again and try something else.

Apparently they are scheduled to open at 6:40am but note on the door said today it was noon. Luckily I arrived at 11:57 so didn't have to wait long. As others have said, this is a dive bar. I sat down at one of the booths put my stuff down and noticed the table was all crusty. Oh well, guess it adds to atmosphere. Ordered a diet coke and looked over the menu. Typically bar food. I ordered a Western Burger with fries. It was a bit slow but they had just opened up. The fries were nice and crispy and the burger was very nice. The ketchup, mustard, and mayo were obviously right out of the refrigerator, so that was nice. The burger was cooked just right and had a nice flavor. Not sure I would come back, but it was a nice experience.

My late husband and I had eaten at the Wagon Wheel several times over 15 years ago after hiking in the area. We always sat at the bar, had a few beers each, and we'd order a burger. We always enjoyed talking to the locals. It's the only bar in town and it's on the main street through town, so this place can get busy once the sun sets. My last visit was earlier today, 4pm on a Saturday. An arts festival across the street was coming to an end, but it wasn't too busy when we walked in. We sat at a small table below the giant deer head. We both had a Barrio Blonde ($6.50). I had a delicious chicken enchilada platter ($14.35) and my friend had a cheese burger platter ($13.35). Service and food were good! The sun room was empty and no one was outside in the yard. I'm sure this place gets wild at night, but today's experience was very pleasant.

We had an appointment in Sonoita and decided to hit something in Patagonia for a late lunch. Not much was open on a Tuesday so we hit the Wagon Wheel. I'll say expectations were not high. Funny old saloon along the highway through town. Did not have cocktails , only a couple cheeseburgers and fries. It was a really good burger.

Quiet place with decent food. The bartender could certainly be a bit more friendly and welcoming to customers.

Super bummed this place doesn't even allow dogs on their giant patio. Guess we won't be having the burger that was recommended by people.

Ultra-slow, dismissive service with obvious prefererence given to the locals. Food was greasy and mediocre.

Between the live music and the old historic vibe, I think it's one of the coolest experiences in town! The history behind the place is also really interesting. It's the second-oldest restaurant in Arizona and opened in 1880. The building used to be the Grand Hotel before it burned down in 1882 & was rebuilt, and there's a lot of history connected to it. The food isn't luxury dining, but I've never been disappointed with a burger or sandwich with some onion rings (really tasty btw). My girlfriend also loves the Macho Nachos. Overall it's just a fun spot with good prices, good service, and a Wild West-sized load of character

Even on a Tuesday afternoon in mid-April, this joint was bustling with live music, servers rushing about in their period costumes, and the chatter of happy patrons enjoying themselves and taking it all in. Whether a lover of frontier history, western cinema, or just plain ol' drinking in a genuine saloon, Big Nose Kate's screams, "WELCOME TO THE TOWN TOO TOUGH TO DIE!" Upon entering, our party was seated in a raised section above the main floor near the front windows. It was an excellent spot to see all the action (including a monitor playing the movie Tombstone, BTW) as we perused the menu of appetizers, entrees, and libations. The selection of specialty drinks was impressive, though I opted for a simple "Big Ass" draft pilsner (flavorful and locally brewed). My wife did order a Cowboy Sangria - and it appears wimpy drinks "don't go around here, Law Dog," because she thought it was good but a bit too strong. I actually had to finish it for her. (Such a chivalrous sacrifice!) But don't assume that Kate's is just a drinking establishment; there's quite a variety of eats, as well. Good-sized, tasty looking burgers and sandwiches passed by our table, which were tempting; however, not being overly hungry, we decided to sample a few of their appetizers as we moved on to another round of beers. The Buffalo Wings were good but nothing really special. The Soft Pretzel Basket - actually one HUGE pretzel served with cheese and mustard sauces - was warm, salty, and much bigger than anyone anticipated. It was enjoyed by our entire table. When visiting, don't neglect a trip to the gift shop, which can be accessed from a spiral staircase right in the center of the dining area. Their menu recounts that a part of this underground area was once the abode of the saloon's swamper, and you can even view his living cubby and mining tunnel when below. Of course, there's lots of branded swag available for sale down there, too! Big Nose Kate's Saloon is a must-see stop for Tombstone visitors. Priced aren't exorbitant, portions are generous, and the food and drinks are pretty darned good, as was evident from the satisfied looks of the diners and drinkers around us . You may even be approached by Steve, who offers FREE photos (from your personal camera or phone) with props and piano-top poses - now how can you beat that value? Make it a point to come on in, belly up to the bar, and enjoy the saloon's hospitality.
