Excellent food and service. A Latin Steakhouse is a new concept to me, but now I'm embracing it. The Ribeye that I ordered was cooked perfectly to my request. They brought out a lentil seviche that was lentils, onion, Cilantro, olive oil, and tomatoes. Wonderful. The ambiance is great. I had choice of a booth or table. The music is Latin and very good. Lighting is soft. read more

Was down in Nogales covering sports and wanted a nice dinner afterwards. Searched for steakhouses and this one was first on the list. When I got there, it was a very nice and a calm atmosphere. My server was very accommodating and said, "it's prime rib night." I took her suggestion and ordered. My meal was awesome and my service was incredible, never having to ask for a drink refill. She checked on me often and had a great personality. Great customer skills. I would recommend this place to anyone. The only disappointment, and it was minor, was they were out of the calamari appetizer. read more

If there were more stars to give...I would! The service was impressive and she really knew her details! The ambience is dim, clean and sexy! Menu has a lot to offer! This is my new favorite steakhouse! They start you off with a lentil salad appetizer (on the house) with blue corn chips and it was fabulous! read more

Very pricey but this is the only top shelf restaurant that I have found in Nogales. An eclectic menu and everything is nicely done.

Service is pretty great here. The food is fantastic, and I'd say their steaks are the best in Nogales, AZ. The ambiance is luxurious without being pretentious, and the live music is a lovely touch to the Caracú experience. Definitely a must-visit if you're in the AZ side of Nogales! read more

I was craving a filet and saw the sign for best Latin Steak House, hidden behind hotel chain. The service was excellent! I did not have to ask for anything. The steak was good; I would have liked more seasoning. The steak was cooked as ordered. It's got a nice inside area, plenty of room for parties. I would suggest taking someone with you for company. They have a prime rib special on Wednesday. read more

Great food and top notch service. Cool blend of a modern and classic steakhouse. Came here with some locals who did the ordering of the appetizers for us all. Couldn't tell you the names of the dishes but they were all amazing. And filling! We still ordered steaks after the appetizers and those were great, too. I had the ribeye and most everyone else had the arrachera skirt steak. Everyone left full and happy. We had an older gentleman as our server. Seemed to have a lifetime of service experience as he was super on top of taking care of us. Kept the drinks flowing and accommodated all requests. Really liked the vibe of this place. Felt both new and old. Hopefully I can come back one day! read more

I was really disappointed with the flavorless ribeye and the au jus was also very Bland you know how it's supposed to be a little salty so when he dipped your piece of meat in there yeah I had to juice that up with the more salt it was served cold super thin slice I thought I was going to slice of ham it was not worth at all the $45 I don't even think if you would have put it on a scale it would have hit the 16 oz very disappointed never going there again read more

Our waiter brought smiles when he added smoke to my OldFashion. Yum. He allowed us to share a fresh house salad and a perfect ribeye. He recommended a fantastic wine from CA. He wants me to add"Jaime is back!!" read more

While I'm usually in the Reno NV area, I happen to be in a place where I lived before .. Tubac AZ. 30 Miles North of Nogales AZ/Nogales Mexico. On the Arizona side lies this hidden gem. Who would think you would find such a great place in a Motel 6. But that is exactly where it is. Classifies itself as Caracu Latin Restaurant. I had one of the best steaks I've eaten in a restaurant in a very long time Medium rare ... was really medium rare. Dinner starts with a free appetizer of black eye peas ... I could inhale this stuff. Small black eye peas .. and I tasted, tomato, cilantro, onion, an exceptional olive oil and a splash of vinegar. It was so good we ordered a side to take home. For our entree we decided on Filet Mignon ... $35 for an 8 oz filet, perfectly cooked. On the plate was a small side salad, roasted rosemary potatoes, and a piece of garlic toast. Half that filet will be in tomorrow night's salad dinner at home. We shared a (wish I actually remembered the name) apple, cinnamon, cake with bourbon (?), a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzled with caramel sauce. Outstanding. Looking forward to going back and having a "appetizer dinner" .. really want to try their pulpo (octopus). Our waitress, Vivian, was a delight. If you're in town for the Tubac Festival of the Arts ... drive 20 minutes to exit 4 on Rt. 19. Get off at Mariposa .. make a wide left (there are 2 left lanes) and a quick right into the Safeway parking lot ... Caracu is to the left .. can't miss the sign. Live music on the weekends, beginning around 7PM. read more

Great service and menu items. We enjoyed for a special occasion. Ambiance was clean and romantic.

Super nice staff, the food came out quickly, the steaks were perfectly cooked and the seasoning was on point. The restaurant is also pet friendly, everyone was adorable with our chihuahua. Prices are very reasonable. 100% recommend this stop, especially after a 4h wait at the border! read more

My friends and I wanted to enjoy some nice steaks on one of my last nights in Nogales. When we walked in, the restaurant smelled of Nag Champa incense and bathroom air freshener... not the smells that I was looking for. We sat down anyways and ordered our food. I ordered a sirloin cooked medium with a side of broccoli. When the food arrived, everything looked delicious. Although the steak was very well-seasoned and had a great flavor, it was overcooked. The side salad was nice and the new potatoes were crispy and also flavorful. The broccoli had been cooked to an inch of its existence, and therefore was a little chewy. My friends enjoyed their meals. We finished the evening with a piece of carrot cake which was moist and absolutely delicious. The servers were very friendly and attentive - they made the experience great. However, from beginning to end of the meal, my friends and I were all overwhelmed by the smells. As we exited the restaurant, we saw two air fresheners that were situated right behind us. Had it not been for the them, we would have had a much better time and meal. read more

Really good tasting steak. Very fun atmosphere especially with the musician. Nice place to come for a date or just to enjoy yourself and have the musician play a song for you. read more

This is one of those hidden gems I'm only down in Nogales for work, but I definitely will be coming back just for this. This is some of the best octopus and ceviche I've had the ceviche itself just melts in your mouth has amazing flavor profile the octopus came with all the fixings to make the best tacos, the service was fantastic and they even had live music playing. It was a guy playing a saxophone playing a few playing the piano, playing the guitar and singing just 100% an amazing place to have a date. read more

Overpriced for a little bit of food. Very poor service. Ask for my steak to be medium well, got it rare. After the food was dropped off did not get any further service or nobody even asked me if my steak was cooked properly. Therefore everything was eaten but the steak. read more

Our first visit here was to celebrate my birthday. Both of us had steaks cooked to perfection. The steak plates come with roasted baby potatoes perfectly seasoned, garlic bread and a small salad. Their cocktails are suburb: I love margaritas and these were among the best I've had. Very cool ambiance and the service was spot on! read more

Very nice place! Service was great, server was very nice and helpful describing the different options to eat. Pulpo adobado was perfectly cooked, tender and crispy outside. Aguachile Ribeye was tasty and different, I personally would add a little more lemon, but it was very good the way it was served. I would definitely come back. read more

BEST dinner we've had in a long time. We shared the atún mango ceviche and the aguachile de rib eye and shared a bottle of Red Blend vino, and wow it was fantastic. Had a pleasant meal with my dad here. Will definitely be back. Had the tomahawk and a filet

This place is 5 star in all areas. We went there last night. The atmosphere was great. Got seated right away and the service was excellent. Our server was Amy and I highly recommend you ask for her if you decide to go. They had a great selection of food and drinks on the menu and the food and presentation were outstanding. I can't say enough about this restaurant. Even though everything was top-notch and somewhat upscale the prices were very reasonable. Will definitely go back. read more

I found Caracu here on Yelp and decided to try it due to the reviews. We went in about 5:15 for an early dinner because we had driven 6 hours we were hungry. What a great Classic Steakhouse atmosphere. The Ambiance was perfect, peaceful and the music appropriate. The service was attentive. We asked about the name Caracu- which means bone marrow. Evidently they are known for their bone marrow appetizer. Which had we know before ordering would have definitely ordered. As other reviews stated they serve a wonderful black-eyed-pea salsa with toasted bread rounds and several sauces including a house made ChimiChurri- excellent!! We both had the RibEye MR and they were perfectly seasoned and cooked. Accompanied with a few roasted small potatoes, a fresh lite salad and garlic bread to tie it all together. I couldn't finish my steak so I made a small sandwich with my bread for breakfast the next morning. We decided to share a piece of Carrot Cake for dessert and we could only rest about half of it. The only picture I took was of the carrot cake. It's on a 10" plate!! Everything about Caracu was amazing and we are planning to return on our way home in Dec. What a find! read more

A little on the pricey side but good hidden little gem. There was live music the night we visited.

Delicious prime rib (Wednesday special), queso fundido and crème brûlée- martini was spot on. The only downside was service was a bit off- friendly- but off. It took a while to get our check. Our entrées came out right after our appetizer. Lovely decor and cute bar area. Will definitely go again for the food. read more

The food is absolutely wonderful; there is an entree or appetizer for everyone. The service is very personal, perhaps slow to some people but the drinks are hand mixed, and the ambiance is eclectic, very appealing and low key. It has a slightly urban feel with the Sinatra music and I just love it. My small group had decided that we will come here once a quarter as it is so very appealing. read more

Great food. By FAR the best restaurant in Nogales, AZ. Appetizers are the best thing on the menu

First visit. Nice setting Both ordered Filet Mignon Mine was ordered Medium rare and the other Medium. They both came out Medium Rare. More on the rare side. Both were over salted. Send back the rarest but came back still NOT Medium Rare. You would think a Latin Steakhouse would get this right? Had high hopes p, as we don't do red meat often....but disappointed. Side sauces and bean salad was good. Wine choice good Nuts! Nice cut... Birthday dinner ruined. read more
