Pizza was solid, you order in one building and they serve you in the building next door. It's a little disjointed, but the pizza was solid.

We ordered pizza over the phone for pickup, which was very fast. 25 min was the time we were told and they were correct. We had a medium veggie pizza and while the toppings were pretty light the pizza tasted very good. They were hosting a birthday party so it was pretty loud. We took it back to our hotel. They supplied us with paper plates and napkins. I would eat here again but ask for more toppings. read more

Great pizza, and the ambience is small town cool with big town potential. The employees are very friendly and courteous. If you're sliding through Monticello I recommend you stop in for a pizza! read more

Pretty dirty, run down, pizza was gross. Service was nice, but I wouldn't go back. Bathrooms were leaking, didn't lock and had a nasty smell. Water was constantly dripping from the sink. The kitchen was nasty and visible to customers. read more

To say the pizza was fantastic would be an understatement. The pizza was loaded with toppings and flavor. The service was personal and perfect. I highly recommend Wagon Wheel Pizza! read more

Only pizza place in town. Story goes a biker gang came to town in early 80's and stayed opening up this pizza shop and just recently sold to new owner. We had a large Work's pizza and a large salad. Great crust from the oven but a little lite on the toppings. Tasted good and salads was good too. Reasonably priced but no delivery. New owner takes over soon so no promises on future foods. They are keeping on the manager so guess it will be similar. Recommend this place. read more

Very good pizza! real mozzarella cheese, perfect hamd-tossed crust, delicious sauce. And the price was right, too! read more

Monticello is sort of the red-haired step child of Moab. Much smaller with a few run down motels and fewer restaurants. I have fairly high standards band nothing compares to authentic pizza. So, this place ranks low on that account. Additionally, we were asked to pay ahead of our meal, while others were not. Accept and interpret that as you will, noting that I'm not of the standard race in this town. My child enjoyed the pizza, for what that's worth. read more

Wagon Wheel Pizza - So, there seem to be 2 pizza places in town and this isn't he best one. That given I will throw my backing with the locals. - Pizza Near Me - Monticello, Utah

Workers were incredibly kind, food was cheap and delicious! As soon as we walked in we were greeted kindly by women working, pizza and garlic bread were PHENOMENAL! We are from way out of state and gained such valuable information on the area and our next destination from the same women. Couldn't have asked for better food or conversation. 10/10 would eat here again and recommend to all. read more

Unique but delicious. I ordered the Mexican pizza and my wife ordered the Works pizza. Both were big thick and delicious! The staff were friendly and the place was clean just outdated with a hodgepodge of furnishings. Definitely worth a stop when you're passing through Monticello. read more

Such kind service, such good food. I loved every bit of it. We were 5 hours in to our 20 hour road trip back home to Texas and we're so happy to find food! I've never been in this town and not gonna lie I was kind of skeptical and had low expectations but was blown away! the store story is so cute and all the workers were so down to earth. Come support this small business and get some yummy pizza!! read more

Great service, unbelievably cheap beverages and warm apple pie for the night. The pizza crust was perfect! Good pitstop in the city! Paid $33 for the whole meal for group of 4, we went home with full belly and satifactory. Def must try the apple pie. read more

Wagon Wheel Pizza - Large pizza 14" for $16.95 - Pizza Near Me - Monticello, Utah

We had a really good pizza. I would have given it a five star rating if the amount of toppings hadn't been so sparse. The crust was perfect, and so was the sauce and cheese. If we lived there and frequented this restaurant I would certainly ask for more toppings-that would have made it perfect! read more

This has to be one of my favorite pizza places. We were just stopping in town for five days and went here almost everyday. You must try their infamous pizza turnovers. I recommend getting "The Works". Everything is made completely fresh right in front of you. This place also has some of the cheapest prices I have ever seen. The meatball sandwich with green peppers and onion is also amazing. We will be stopping here every time we pass through town! read more

We were staying in Monticello after a day in Mesa Verde NP. I turned to Yelp for dinner ideas. I'm so glad I did! The pizza was perfect - crispy bottom to a tasty crust topped with fresh ingredients and flavorful sauce! Though they could have used a few more hands as the dinner rush heated up, the ladies were friendly and accommodating. You order at the counter and it's delivered to your table. For six people with drinks and enough leftovers for the next day, we were happily surprised at the bill of just over $50. If we're ever in the area again, we've unanimously decided we will go back to Wagon Wheel Pizza. read more

First off, let me state that I was asked to do a review of Wagon Wheel by an anonymous commentor on my food blog page for Thatzza Pizza, a newly opened pizza competitor for Wagon Wheel. Remember folks, I'm a pizza snob and very tough when it comes to pizza reviews. I've traveled to many places in and out of the United States, and trying pizza whenever I could was always on the list of things to do. Wagon Wheel Pizza was established in 1984 and is owned by Susan, a former resident of Florida. When entering Wagon Wheel, it looks like a typical pizzeria with booths lining one wall and a few tables here or there. After about a 5 minute wait while Susan finished prepping a pizza for the oven, my order was taken, and questions answered, with a friendly smile. I was told my order would be ready in 25 minutes, but it actually took 45 minutes which gave me time to see some of my food prepared. The Meatball Sandwich consists of three frozen 2" meatballs that are defrosted in the microwave, mixed with sauce and then heated again in the microwave. They are sliced in half, placed on an untoasted 6" sub roll and garnished with slices of green bell pepper and onion. Once unwrapped, the sub cannot be picked up to be eaten as it has become a "hot mess" with the roll falling apart from not being toasted. A fork is a must if you order this sandwich. If you want chicken wings, you must ask for them as they are not listed on the menu; they come with a choice of two sauces: hot or bbq. They are baked on parchment paper, so do not expect a crisp texture since the wings are basically steaming in the fat coming off the wings and caught on the paper. While the chicken was fully cooked with a mild bbq flavor, the thick, gummy skin was totally unappealing. The pizza at Wagon Wheel does not use the typical Utah style of crust, namely focaccia bread. The crust is thinner, allowing for a browned and crispy texture. The sauce, while having a good flavor and you can see the herbs, is smeared thin; the cheese is thick, but not the creamy, gooey type that one associates with pizza. To get a single bite of cheese with crust, you must completely bite through the slice, or the cheese comes sliding off in a complete sheet. As the pizza cools, the cheese congeals more and the crust becomes very tough. To be fair, I have to say that Susan was busy prepping food, checking on the oven, plating food, while her two workers were either filling salt and pepper shakers, or filling a drink order for 8 people - 2 drinks at a time; guess the employee didn't know how to carry a tray. The drink order employee then completed the meatball sandwich; was going to put it in the oven for toasting and then changed her mind. That was a big mistake in my book. read more

Small town pizza place. Took a long time to bake the pizza. Middle of the road pizza flavor, crust was crisp but a little tough, mozzarella seemed cheap, toppings were fine. If you're in Monticello and are wanting pizza you could do worse. read more

It was late and we were tired from driving 9 hrs and wanted to get something quick to eat so we could get back to the motel, swim and go to bed. Options were extremely limited in Monticello on the main highway, but this place was close and had indoor seating so we gave it a try. The service was ok but although they didn't appear to be busy they said it would be 30 min before our pizza was ready. My wife got a small side salad which got served right away. She thought it was strange that it came loaded with sliced mushrooms and black olives, neither of which she likes. Even if she did, it seemed odd to have these toppings on a salad. The 30 minute wait was accurate. We had wanted 1/2 cheese and 1/2 with sausage, green peppers and onions. They were out of green peppers and based on the amount of sausage on our 1/2, they must have been running low on that as well. all covered with a thick layer of cheese (over did the cheese). The taste was just average. The price was reasonable, less than we normally pay for pizza and drinks so that was good. We don't plan on going back to Monticello anytime soon other than just passing thru but if we were stuck there in a snowstorm, we would eat there again. read more

Stayed in town while visiting area. Small place with very friendly staff. Local hangout. Small town feeling and very casual. Pizza was great. Didn't expect this. All hand made right in front of you. Wait was kinda long due to Friday night phone orders. Service was good and value was great. In all would come back. Just a good honest taste and service. Ingredients were fresh. Sizes from 5" to 14". Not to many options in this small town. Great for large groups...... lots of seating read more

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but this was one of the best pizzas I've had, which is... a lot. The crust was flavorful and had just the right amount of crispness. I asked for extra cheese, and they didn't disappoint. The owner said she'd been there for 30 years, and with the quality of the food, I believe it. Well worth the stop. read more

Don't let the storefront deter you. This place knows how to make pizza. Better than your best mom's best kitchen. Crispy medium thick crust. Excellent toppings, and any way you like it. This is a two part review, one for the food and one for the people. The food was what I expected for a pizza place in small town Utah. I had "French Bread Pizza". It was mediocre at best. My son had a small "Personal Pizza" and it too was mediocre. My wife and daughter both had "Turnovers" which is a version of a stromboli. They were really good. If we're ever back in Monticello I'll order that. The crust on the pizza was nothing special, neither were the sauce, cheese or toppings. All were good. Now for the people. They were EXCEPTIONAL! The reason we were in Monticello is because our van died as we were driving home from Northern Utah. We were stranded in Monticello. So we went to Wagon Wheel Pizza for a quick dinner as we were figuring out how to get the four of us and our dog home. As we waited my wife told our sad tale to the lady working there. The lady then called one of the other employees who in turn called several people to see if anyone could help us in our predicament. That was Saturday afternoon/evening. Sunday morning we got a call from a friend of the second employee that volunteered to drive us home... 3 1/2 hours! Then he had to drive back to Monticello another 3 1/2 hours. If it weren't for the employees of Wagon Wheel Pizza it might have been another day or two for us to get home. So, the pizza gets three stars, but the service - the people there going WAY above and beyond to help us, the overall rating is 5 stars! Thank you Wagon Wheel Pizza! read more

After looking at the reviews of the 2 pizza places in Monticello, we chose Wagon Wheel and were delighted. Small place where you order at the counter and they serve your table. Workers were so friendly and answered all our questions about the area. We ordered a large salad to share and saw her make it right then... totally fresh and yummy. The pizza was piping hot, crispy crust and fresh toppings. Delicious food, great service and a convenient location. Only downside is no beer. read more

Good pizza in a small town. My review is based on a decent pizza, great prices, and excellent service. First off, the pizza was pretty good. They roll out every pizza dough crust fresh to order. I love that you can order a mini pizza. It was the perfect size for me. My pizza was hot, fresh, and the crust was crispy. The service was superb. There were two young kids working the tables and counter with the owner managing the kitchen. They both were extremely friendly and did a great job preparing my order. For less than $5.50 I got a mini pizza and a coke. I was surprised how affordable it was, especially for being in Monticello. I would definitely return for another pizza. read more

Staff greeted me very sincerely as soon as I entered. I told the lady I wanted to order a pizza to go. She took my order quickly. She told me it would be 25 minutes. Twenty-five minutes later, I paid for my order and was headed out the door. The pizza really is good and has a bigger town taste and quality. I will return since I am working in town for a month or two. read more

After a hard day of climbing cracks at Indian Creek, I wanted pizza. Wagon Wheel is about what you would expect- decent pizza in a town with limited options. I tried two pizzas- pepperoni with pineapple and the taco pizza, both without cheese. The crust is pretty good and the taco pizza has tons of flavor! The atmosphere of the little restaurant is what you would expect in a small rural town. A little run down, but clean. I would go back if I were craving some more pizza while in this part of Utah. read more

Decent pizza. They messed up our order, we ordered one large with the works, no onion and 1/2 without olives. It had onion and olives on the entire pizza. They made my husband an entirely new pizza (small) to accommodate the things he couldn't eat. The didn't charge for either pizza. The bathrooms need a bit of a deep cleaning, but overall it was ok. I'm giving them 4 stars based on the quality of pizza and the fact that they corrected their mistake. Customer service is just as important as the food quality. read more

Got the works pizza and it was the best pizza we've had in a long time. Really impressed.
