I just had their weekday special which was a 14 inch pizza plus one topping. Good price. Very good…read morecrust. Good flavor. This is a good store. It as good as most big city pizza places. If you want Pizza, I recommend coming here. They have other food as well, but I can't comment on it. I got the pizza and took it back to the hotel room. It looks like a decent place to sit there and eat it, but certainly not a place for a date.

I was very disturbed by what I saw at Thatzza Pizza on Saturday, April 18 around 8 pm…read more I have since received a call from the San Juan County public health inspector who equally as concerned and disturbed as I was (his exact words were "if I were you I'd have told the cashier to take his pizza and shove it") and threatened to take the restaurant's permit away if they did not provide employee training. The owners response on to me on Google Maps confirms that their employee was eating pepperonis and sticking fingers in her mouth while preparing a customer's pizza. As I was paying for my pizza, I witnessed a young female employee stick her fingers into her mouth and then into the pepperoni tub as she made a customer's pizza. I saw her continue to eat pepperonis as she prepared the pizza. I pointed this out to the clerk (a 20-30 year old male with a dark ponytail) and I said it was inappropriate and disgusting for an employee to be touching the customer's food while sticking her fingers into her mouth, and eating, and that I don't want someone else's spit on my food. The man got visibly upset and nasty, and said in a whiny tone that she wasn't doing anything wrong and it's totally fine to have your fingers in your mouth while making food to sell to the public. I was shocked at his response - it's one thing for a child to make a silly mistake while cooking, another for a grown man to not see the obvious health hazard here. We paid for our pizza and left (to avoid making a scene, and to support the employees working who were innocently doing their jobs), but threw it away out of fear of retribution since the cashier was so nasty to me. I've filed a complaint with both the city of Monticello and the San Juan County public health department. If employees are willing to be that disgusting in public in front of customers, I shudder to think of how they behave when out of sight.

Service was great- even though I stopped by close to closing, staff was so friendly and the food was still served steaming hot. There's some lovely open wooden architecture here that make it a great place for conversations of any kind- dates, family outings, a quiet personal meal, or more!

I got the pork pad thai and it was below average. The pork tasted stale, rancid, and gamey. The dish noodles themselves were just ok. Ambiance was calm, servers were sweet. They only had one chef, didn't have sushi and a number of other dishes when I went in a Friday afternoon, though. Not sure if it was poor timing or if it is usually like that. Bottom line: This may be a historically local favorite, but it is certainly not up to par with other places. Apparently the quality has gone down over the last couple years, unsure what changed. If you're visiting from out of town and are craving Thai food, go to Arches Thai in Moab, UT - WAY better food for similar price. It is worth the extra drive, trust me.

The pizza was great, legit NY style. Possibly the best pizza I've had in the SW, and far more…read moreaffordable than the fancy place in Moab. Friendly service. The only downside might have been the pizza was a little under balanced on sauce, but we ended up dipping slices in extra marinara for the calzone. The calzone was really good, but not really what I expect from a calzone. Tons of toppings, but not much ricotta and been wood fired it had a different consistency. Got some half off treats from the bakery in the building for a canyoneering course up North Wash. Would definitely stop by again when passing through!

Crust had that light crisp on the outside, soft inside, with just enough chew to hold everything together. Sauce and cheese actually work together (rare these days), and nothing felt overloaded or sloppy. Simple, dialed, and executed right. The spot itself is clean and low-key. No gimmicks, no trying to be Instagram-famous--just a place that clearly cares more about the food than the hype. Menu's stacked too--pizzas, calzones, wings, pastas--so you could run this place back a few times and not repeat yourself. If you're anywhere near this place, stop. This isn't "pretty good for the area" pizza. This is I'd come back for it pizza.
