I am the sole caretaker of my dogs and do not receive additional help. To say that PupStars has stepped in and stepped up to fill that void would be an understatement. They have been there during emergencies, honored last minute requests, and I love to say that they have been more helpful than any of my boyfriends ever have been! Their expansive 10,000 square ft indoor and outdoor space allows my dogs to play and get all their energy out, which wouldn't be possible in my small apartment. When they are there, they are closely monitored and cared for. The PupStars staff, who are first-aid and CPR-certified, is quick to call if they notice any out of character behavior, which has made me feel truly safe when my dogs are under their care. TBH, I trust them more than I trust myself! The services they offer are unlike any other dog daycare in Chicago. To name a few, PupStars provides morning and evening transportation, professional grooming, boarding, fecal sample testing (one of my favorites because IYKYK), adorable themed enrichment activities for every holiday, training through their partner Anything is Pawzible, and a canine aquatic facility in the works! They are more than just a daycare facility, they truly feel like family (with my dogs and I being the most dysfunctional members). Run, don't walk (whether that is on 2 or 4 legs)! I could not recommend them enough!

LeAnna and LaVonne have gone out of their way to be flexible and work with our schedule. Each day they send us updates on our boy's peeing, pooping, behavior around other dogs and people, as well as sweet photos. We just happened to see our walker, LaVonne, on the street last week and our boy was so excited to see her. That's the true mark of a job well done. She is loving but firm...exactly what German Shepherds need.

I have been using Hyde Park Bark as a cat sitting service for more than two years while traveling…read moreout of town. After four scheduled cat sitting services (for 1-2 weeks at a time), I have been thoroughly pleased with ALL of their employees, the high level of communication, the friendliness and the reliability! I am so grateful that they are in Hyde Park and a local business. A few things I've noticed: 1) I get updates with photos and a narrative for every visit. I usually schedule 2 visits every day that I'm gone. 2) No matter which employee visits, I understand from the narrative report that they have read the instructions, and the comments that I've left. For example, this summer, the temperature reached 100 degrees outside, but I had forgotten to turn on the A/C. After leaving a comment to ask that it be put on energy save an set to 72, the next sitter did just that, and sent me photos to verify the settings. This put me completely at ease while being away during a dangerous heatwave. 3) My cats need medication and a special feeding schedule; my instructions are followed and this also helps me feel at ease that the kitties are fine for extended absences. 4) If I need to extend my trip, the online scheduling system is easy to update and I know that I won't have to scramble to find an alternative. The onboarding process if you are a new client is not something that can be done at the last minute; I signed up before I knew I would have a trip planned, but then once the consult was done, it has been completely a breeze to sign up for vacation house sitting appointments. I have been and continue to be very pleased with the services, care, and convenience of Hyde Park Bark!

He truly cares about your dog and his craft. I moved to the suburbs 2 years ago and I tried other groomers in my area, but they could never get my Pom's haircut quite right. Needless to say, I drive from the suburbs to bring my Pom to get groomed by him, and battling the traffic is worth it! My little guy always gets snuggles from the staff and treated like one of their own. Mau's House grooming environment is more relaxed with less dogs and noise than any other grooming salon or boutique I have taken my dog's to. If you're looking for a groomer and a salon where you know when you drop your dog off they will be treated like their own, then Mau's House is for you! Can't recommend them enough.

Other dog daycares…read morehave not worked out in the past, but The Pawfect Friend is not just in it to make money off of another dog, they actually care about your dogs wellbeing and safety. The space is brand-new and feels very safe for the dogs. Other dog daycares my dog attended had so many dogs in one group with only one attendant and no one keeping a close eye on the dogs. Here, I receive a report card at the end of everyday with photos and an update of what my dog did during the day. My dog is not high energy and can get scared if other dogs are jumping on her. The other dog daycares I have used did not provide updates and when I asked how my dog was doing, they would say she seems fine, but when they would come to get her, she would run and hide. I knew The Pawfect Friend would be a good fit for my dog given the direct attention from attendants and they do not shove an extreme amount of dogs in groups. EVERYONE who works here is so nice and responsive. I truly appreciate the safety and care from The Pawfect Friend. My dog willingly runs to the door for daycare now and certainly enjoys her time.
