TLDR: GO ANYWHERE ELSE FOR BOARDING OR TRAINING. YOUR DOG IS NOT IN GOOD HANDS HERE. LITERALLY GO ANYWHERE ELSE. IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNERS COMMENTS: 1. I will post the photos of the disgusting conditions at the Arlington Heights boarding (more like hoarding) house. I will happily share video as well. 2. He did break our broom while banging it on the ground, I will happily share photos of that as well. 3. MOST IMPORTANTLY: Ty only knows how to teach a dog to sit and go in its kennel - should you have ANY other more complicated issues with your dog (which all dogs do) GO TO LITERALLY ANY OTHER TRAINER. I have known Ty since 2020 - I have referred multiple people to him and regret that anyone I know ever sent their dog here either for training or for boarding. I have used him for both training and boarding and have had horrific experiences with both. BOARDING: Ty USED to keep dogs in his apartment in the city, give them 1:1 attention, walks, and everything you could expect from a dog sitter. The last time we sent our dog to him for boarding the understanding is that he would stay with Ty at his apartment while we were out of town for 8 days. Instead, one day into his stay - Ty reached out saying that he is too overwhelmed with training to keep our dog and sent him to his parents house in the suburbs. There, they had at least 10 dogs - all in crates in their living room. None of the comforting things that we sent with our dog were given to him. They do NOT walk the dogs. They let them out in the backyard in a small fenced area. All of the pictures and videos of the place look dirty and our dog was given back to us smelling of smoke and clearly terrified. It took us at least a week to get our dog back to his normal self. TRAINING: When I first got my dog I had Ty over for multiple sessions. Ty is very strange in person - constantly talks to his phone voice notes and clearly not good with people. Once he asked us for a broom to bang on the ground when our dog barks - Ty hit it SO hard that he broke our broom and our dog was terrified of him. Most recently - we purchased a pack of three training sessions from Ty (prior to our traumatic boarding experience) and when we went to book the second session Ty all of a sudden made up a rule that you had to use the sessions within 6 months. We have all the contracts and invoices from our purchase and this new made up rule was not on any of our records. He is a complete sham and I would not trust him to care or train for any dog. read more

We used Bow Wow to board our 2 year old springer spaniel for almost 10 days while we went on a trip. It was so refreshing finding a place that was willing to board him without needing a social test and multiple days of daycare to get approved like a lot of the places in the city. They pick up and drop off your dog which was amazing because we were busy packing and we have a toddler. They were on time and he got to live out in the suburbs and run everyday with other dogs. TY IS THE BEST TRAINER EVER! Since the pandemic, I have been working at home and at home in general more and its caused some behavioral issues for my Corgi. She was not used to me being at home and making noises (Sneezing, cooking, doing dishes, etc) as often and started getting very triggered and started barking a lot. In addition, she started to show jealous aggressive behavior towards my second dog when I gave them food together or when I gave him too much attention. We purchased the 3 pack deference training and Ty came over and asked us a bunch of questions and assessed my corgi, Brioche in her normal environment. He immediately taught us how to retrain her against the triggers so she can be calm around them. After 1 session, we saw a HUGE difference! After the second, she was so good that during the third session, there wasn't much to train her on anymore. I am so so incredibly thankful for Ty! He has opened our eyes so much to the way we should be training and treating our dogs, and has helped us and Brioche so much with her anxieties. Her behavior is night and day. We left our 2 year old golden retriever with Ty for his three week board and train program. After researching many different options and methodologies, we knew Ty would be the best fit for us. He has an incredible calm demeanor (very comforting for an anxious parent leaving their dog for this long), focuses positive reinforcement training, and had the best pricing by far. We had a call and met in person once before signing up so he could meet our pup and understand the behaviors we needed help with. Throughout the duration of the stay, we received text updates regularly with pictures/videos with progress updates. I've had a terrific experience working with Ty. He has trained my dog since she was a puppy of just twelve weeks. I have learned not only how to deal with the initial exasperating parts of puppyhood (chewing everything in sight, biting with those sharp puppy teeth, walking on a leash instead of plopping down in the middle of the street), but also how to continue training my dog on my own with his advice (holding a SIT command even when she's in a distracting situation, walking at my side, not tugging at her leash; learning QUIET when she's wanting to bark, to name just a few specifics). I'm so thankful that I found Bow Wow Behavioral on Yelp! After calling around to various kennels I decided to go with TY. The fact that he boarded at his house was atypical from the other businesses I was finding but I loved that. He was very professional, seemed to know what he was doing & the price was right. What we needed to work on with my 1.5 year old rescue dog was potty training. If we had brought her to a kennel she would not have gotten the in-home experience. Or the one on one training. Not only did he completely retrain her to potty outside, but she had a wonderful time being surrounded by humans and not a dozen other barking dogs. And he taught her not to pull on walks. He returned her to us and after about a 1 week of adjusting to being back home, we have a trained puppy! It's a miracle. When I got my lovely Weimaraner puppy at 8 weeks old I knew he was going to have to be well trained and obedient since his size and weight were going to be on the larger side as an adult. I had an idea of how obedient I wanted my dog to be so I signed up for the 52-week course.
