cookies and cream waffle, banana (?) waffle, and red velvet waffles!

I went in on a Saturday and it was pretty quiet. There was a few other customers eating in but i was surprised how quiet it was. the food was delicious!! Everyone was satisfied and the guy behind the counter was super nice and made sure we were taken care of. he took our order and then made everything to order which was surprising he did it all on his own! the one thing i will say is that the tables and chairs were all kind of sticky, to include the high chair which sucked. aside from that the food and service was 10/10.

Shrimp N Grits, S'mores Waffle!!

For the past year, I've patronized this place via Door Dash because it's close by my studio. Well, this morning I decided to make my dine experience happen. Upon entering, the laid back atmosphere was super inviting. There was a movie playing great decor which enhances the in person visit even more!! The menu has TONS of waffle combo options(trust me, I've done almost ALL of them) but today I decided to go with the Shrimp N Grits combo. It comes with a half waffle, that I upgraded to a full S'mores waffle. Also added a side of scrambled eggs, with cheese of course. The 1st scoop of the HUGE bowl of Shrimp N Grits had me in Heavenly Taste Bud Bliss!! It was Sooo flavorful and savory!! Usually you have to add a lil salt and pepper to those, not so here!! It's delicious As Is!! The portion is so big, that even I had to tap out!! The eggs are always fluffy, and the presentation is definitely better in person!! Now on to the waffle....OMG....with S'mores being my favorite dessert, I knew it was about to be an experience!! While I've ordered it before via Door Dash, I've learned that dining in is ALWAYS better tasting!! And my point was proven with the 1st bite!! The mini marshmallow chips, graham cracker bites, and chocolate syrup made this SO GOOD!! I tapped out on the grits....but I ATE ALL OF THIS!! I treat waffles/pancakes like dessert, so I eat it last, and I had to pause a few time because this was getting gorged!! Lol Overall, this is a GO TO breakfast/brunch spot on Houston's northwest side!! The staff is SUPER friendly and courteous especially Lynn!! She took great care of me and the other patrons that were dining there. 10/10

3.5 if were being picky. What an experience! I get the hype. As a brunch spot, this little gem offers the staples- decedent brunch favorites without the turn up. While they offer mimosas, you probably won't see folks getting lit. While their playlist is smooth, it's a family friendly environment. The concept is fast casual- order at the counter, receive your food at the pickup on a tray when ready, and enjoy in the intimate seating provided (that goes for this and their Humble location). When we arrived we were told that there was a wait of 45 min to an hour to receive food, likely closer to the hour mark, it was clear that they were firmly in the weeds. While we were prepared to wait, it took 1 hr and 45 minutes for us to receive our meal (which extends beyond reasonable expectation). We ordered more than a few other tables, but for a fast casual restaurant, it seemed to point to operational issues, whether that be staffing, efficiency with volume, or just plain "we caught them on a bad day". Whichever it is...I can say it did impact the experience. Just a heads up- they no longer serve the pulled chicken and pulled pork sandwiches listed on the menu, and pictured in the restaurant. On the plus side, everything we ordered arrived fresh, and the food was delicious. The Cajun shrimp and grits is huge. You could easily split this with two or three people alongside another entree. The birthday cake waffle is simple but effective. The addition of sprinkles offer a nice crunch and a little sugar. In addition to the drizzle, you don't really need syrup to enjoy this one. The strawberry waffle pairs well with the chicken n waffles dish. We choose wings but you can also go for tenders! The chicken had a great crunch, and was bursting with flavor. The beignets were a surprise. I love me some beignets, and while New Orleans traditional these were not, they were pretty dang tasty. I can't wait to see these folks in the pocket. If you choose to visit, expect the itis..in the best way!

This is it right here!!! They are going to see me on a regular! These wings and waffles are so dang good make you want to..... well you know the rest! The waffles are so fluffy, crisp on the outside and sweet. The wings are seasoned to the bone. Everything is cooked to order so pack your patience! Deliciousness can't be rushed. Everyone speaks when you walk in and it's very clean. Two things we didn't get to try was the shrimp and grits and ice cream! The price was very good too many places are charging steak prices for chicken and waffles. I was glad to see these prices. Do not fear the mimosa price cause it was hitting on a different level. For sure a hidden gem!

Don't know how this place wasn't packed. Great waffles and great staff!! Would come back again. We also had the country waffle. My husband was overly surprised how much he enjoyed breakfast.

food is amazing and service was amazing my family and I had an great experience :) They have a lot of options to choose from and everything was delicious!

I ordered a banana nut waffle because I figured that's the safest bet to not be super sweet or risk being gritty. Everyone was super nice. The store was clean. Can't wait to try this waffle. The waffle was kind of more like a snack. It had small flavor but did not give a buttery taste.

Great food, the softest and most fluffiest waffle I've ever had. The chicken was so crispy and juicy. Highly recommend coming here if you are close to the area! Staff was very nice and attentive.

I got a blueberry waffle with 2 chicken tenders. The food came out within 10 mins. It was hot and fresh. I would definitely come back again!

The first time I went was amazing and I hate that I didn't get a chance to post my review but the pictures are attached this was in 2022.... Ok so, yall, fast forward to now 10/26/2024....my husband and I enjoyed so much that we decided that let's have it for our anniversary breakfast today... we go in laid back waiting, the cashier had a very friendly face and she greeted us with the warmest smile! She was helping another lady in front of us, she told us we could have a seat and choose what we wanted and come back up when we were ready. When we were ready I got in line behind the lady who was still at the register when we got there. Well for some reason the interaction started going left because of something with honoring the discount but the assistant manager was called over. WELL this is when things really got negative. I witnessed the nasty attitude of the assistant manager and the lack of professionalism and courtesy toward the customer who was no where near disrespectful but when she asked for her name, the assistant manager wouldn't give it to her and didn't try to make the situation easier but even yelled from behind something about quitting. It put a bad taste in our mouth and honestly we didn't want to remain after that interaction. I really hope the owner and real manager sees this because that behavior is bad for business. We really want to support but not if that's the atmosphere.

Between the group we ordered two HOT Chicken Thunder Fries, the HOT MESS fries, three orders of the jumbo chicken tenders and waffles (two hot honey, one plain), a full order of mac and cheese, and the Cheeseburger Fryders. It was a lot of food and somehow it was all hot, fresh, and honestly really good. I love a sweet and savory combo when I'm expecting it, and this place definitely delivers. The waffles reminded me a lot of classic Waffle House waffles and the tenders were huge and actually seasoned well. The loaded fries were seriously loaded too. Lots of sauce, lots of meat, and we definitely didn't feel cheated. We were stuffed and still had leftovers. The only thing I personally wasn't crazy about were the Fryders. I think mini waffles as buns would've been better, but they weren't bad and my friend scarfed them down. Service was quick once we ordered and the staff was super chill. They let us sit there gossiping and picking at food for almost three hours without making us feel rushed, which I really appreciated. A couple small complaints though. Ordering is only through the iPads so you don't really get to ask questions, and the tables could definitely be wiped down a bit more often. Also the AC could be turned down a little... it was pretty cold in there. That said, the prices are actually pretty reasonable for The Heights. I spent a little over $50 myself and didn't feel scammed one bit considering how much food we ordered. Funny enough we originally tried to go to their Alabama location on Sunday but the line was out the door and parking was a nightmare. My friend literally drove off and told us to cancel. We ended up driving about 26 minutes to this location instead and honestly I'm glad we did. Great food, quick turnaround, and a fun spot to hang out for a while. We'll definitely be back.

Whats even more insane is that the ipad asks you for a TIP. like who are you tipping? the unhelpful kitchen staff?? chicken always seems like warm or cold and the breading is ALWAYS soggy. their prices are so outrageous that they now offer a "lunch special". i've never seen a fast casual restaurant offer a lunch special. those should just be regular prices.

There is a matcha restaurant right next door (called "Isa"), make sure you aren't standing in line for that one, make sure you go inside the actual restaurant (unlike us). They have a kiosk that you can order from and have a pretty extensive menu, so many flavors, sauces, and customization add-ons. I went with the classic Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Waffle Sandwich Deluxe (add-on) + HOT Honey substitution (add-on), side of regular fries, side of White Cheddar Mac & Cheese. We didn't go during a busy moment so it took only about 10 minutes for them to make our order. Their sandwiches are to DIE for, I would recommend you ask for your sandwich to be cut in half. The chicken was fresh, sauce was sweet and flavorful, they put the right amount of sauce along with tomatoes, lettuce and other add-ons. My rating of the sandwich is 9.4/10, it is literally the perfect sandwich if the sandwich wasn't disintegrating on me, but I think that is a good thing, wouldn't want a crunchy waffle sandwich. The mac & cheese was also very good, would give a 8.1/10, if they crusted their mac & cheese, it would be 10 times better. Would also recommend a bit of a kick, but it complemented the meal pretty well. All in all, this was a great place to stop by for lunch, they had a patio that we sat outside and ate at on a beautiful day. The front cashier was very helpful, walking us through the entire menu and giving us his best recommendations, definitely bettered our experience. For the quality of the meal, the pricing is also very reasonable as well. I would recommend if you are around the area, to stop by and enjoy a meal at this establishment. They have another location as well, which I didn't know (hopefully quality is consistent across the board because quality was great during this visit.

The waffles were okay. The fries were also just alright. One waffle sandwich was a ton of food, although I did finish it all (with difficulty). I would've been satisfied with just eating a half.

Despite its location, it's surprisingly a quiet place - just some pretty light foot traffic in the morning I came. The waffle dish of choice today was "The Rancher" - a play on Chicken and Waffles as a sandwich, featuring syrup, powdered sugar, and ranch on the side. It was a truly creative choice, and it had many highs to it. The chicken was fried well, and the waffles were quite fluffy. However, I wasn't the biggest fan of the ranch and syrup together - maybe it's just personal taste though. The sandwich was also a bit small for the $14 price point - I left definitely wanting some more food in the belly. Overall, not a bad place. The food quality is there - it just may be a bit small portion size.

First thing to note: they don't let you bring your water bottle to your table, so they held my Owala behind the host stand for me. Not a huge deal, just something to know before you go. The service was good, but the food does have a bit of a wait. Even though it wasn't busy when we got there, it still took a little minute for the food to come out, so I'd expect it to take longer during busier times. That said, everything came out hot and fresh, and the lemon drop was really good. The only issue was that my first batch of wings had a hair in them. I let the waitress know, and she took them back right away. The replacement wings didn't come out immediately either--it was another little wait--but the new batch came out fresh and hot with no issues. I did really like the happy hour deals. The wings, lemon drop, and cheeseburger sliders came out to $25.99, which felt like a really good value because I was full and still had leftovers. Overall, it was a good experience and I would return. Finding hair in my food was definitely a turnoff, especially on a first visit, but the food, drinks, pricing, and the way the staff handled it still left me with a positive impression.
