For the first time I'm at the new Waffle House on 441 by Lowe's in Lady Lake Fl. Service was good, the breakfast sausage were harder than a hokey puck. Sitting at the counter watching the waffle iron's and drip pan over overflow and dough and dripping on the floor, with workers standing in front of the drippings and ignoring the mess. Won't be back, going to dinner across the highway for a better breakfast. read more

We recently found the Waffle House, actually 2, near to us in The Villages Fl. Both locations are really good. The waffles are done well and the staffs are very attentive. My go to choices are either the patty melt or one of their egg and meat breakfast options. But for me the big allure here has always been their hash browns. You can get the hash browns topped with a variety of toppings, you can't go wrong with chili and cheese, but really it is whatever talk to your heart. I guess you might find it odd that I have never had the waffles at a business where waffle is in their very name of the business but I am just not into the sweet type breakfasts. Now I finally go again after years of seeing waffle houses on the road and thinking this is it, I finally don't have any other choices on the road but a Waffle House. I even stopped at a truckers stop diner but read one review about bugs in the table and wonder bread proudly displayed behind the grumpiest woman at the grill and ran for Waffle House. Well, drove. But this Place had me thinking it's time to stop dreaming of good old school American diners and stick to the hipster spots only with latte art. This was the soggiest under cooked waffle I ever had. And the shape didn't even form a full circle. Now I don't even get a full waffle? The syrups are only plan flavor. No more butter pecan or flavors like in the last. The hash browns I used to be so excited about have only 3 options and the covered or was it smothered?? is one square of plastic cheese. And the scattered or whatever is some raw onions. Not sure what cheese was in the eggs but it's hard to eff up scrambled eggs right?? The sausage was flimsy and I dunno. Microwaved little lump of something. Driving into this place at night behind a building in a dark area feels kind of sketchy and something bad might be lurking. Inside was clean and the waitress was very friendly. Sitting at the bar you can see the cook making food, which should have been the sign to turn around and walk out but we were hungry and hopeful. Waffles were flat like a pancake but tasted good. We left satisfied and it wasn't until later that the lurking feeling hit like a truck. Two days later and still suffering. We suggest avoiding this place. read more

Busy busy busy! Apparently a bus was there & hard to find a table so we sat at the counter. I got the biscuit & gravy's with a an egg, very good & wife got the eggs with grits & toast. The Pecan Waffles are excellent and LOADED with pecans! The homefries were great, as was the biscuit! Service was EXCELLENT. I can't wait to go back and try the chocolate chip and peanut butter chip waffles too! Its very affordable, staff is friendly and smiling, and bathrooms clean. What more can you want? I came here with high expectations, and I think that maybe that's why I was so disappointed! First off this place is extremely dirty and disgusting looking, and I hate to use this word but it was just straight up ghetto. And I come from Bronx, so that's saying something. If you want to walk into a place and see what it looks like for a whole bunch of people to hate their jobs, this place is it. My waitress was straight up rude and smelled of attitude. I was personally bothering her being here. Okay, so the food comes and I assumed being that the name of the place was called Waffle House that the waffles would be something out of this world. Or at least decent like IHOP pancakes. Not at all, I enjoyed the hash browns more than the waffles. I asked for a chocolate chip waffle and all I got was a waffle with chocolate chips on top. The hash browns was interesting, I forget the name but it pretty much had a bunch of crap in it, and it wasn't bad. Maybe a little too heavy on the portion but tasty nonetheless. I haven't been to any other Waffle House's, but I did not like that this one is so dirty and run down. Being an eating facility, they should really consider doing a deep cleaning on the place. My review is based in comparison to other WH's. The great thing about the House, is that it is usually VERY consistent, fast, and you can see them prepare your food right in front of you. This Definitely is one that you can keep on going unless you are either A. REALLY hungry, or B. Really want WH. Stopped to eat here on a trip north around 5:15am. Sat at the table for 10 minutes with no one coming to help us. Once the cook finally pointed out to the server that we were sitting over there, the server wiped his nose all over his hands and grabbed our menus and threw them in front of us. Driving late night, 4am, and I pulled over for a quick bite in the area near the I-75 and Turnpike junction. Wanting food, I couldn't find a single place open except Waffle House so I decided "why not?" Now, if you've ever been to WH, it's not fancy or anything, just quick food. I thought I would give their steak and eggs a shot. The sunny side eggs were good, but a little greasy. It was fine with buttered toast to help soak it up! (Delicious, bad for the arteries, grease). Anyways! Their hash browns were delicious; not greasy at all like McD's hash browns. The hash browns were crispy but still soft on the inside; of course I squirted ketchup all over it cause that how I roll *deal with it*. Now, their steak met my expectations: low. I got it medium cooked because I'm not gonna risk an upset stomach from here, a non-steakhouse restaurant. So, the steak was tough, even though it was just medium, lacked flavor, and was a wonderful palette for A-1 sauce. No stomach ache afterwards so I can't complain too much about it. It's 2 stars because you're not gonna get the greatest from Waffle House and I've had better. BUT, it's ehh ok. Better for when you're drunk and need food. I live in Wildwood. I like waffle house's food. But having said that this place has the surliest staff i have ever seen. My waitress came back to the table before I sat down to clean it three times. I watched her scowl at other customers. There are two young men working here that have their waffle house hats on sideways. A man called the manager over to complain about the cooking of the food and she made a minimum jesture of taking that portion off the bill. As she turned around she smirked. read more
