I had to wait an hour after ordering my food just for them to have not made it then when they finally made it it was all messed up the buns had been burnt like fr black burnt the order was incorrect and the food was so burnt I took one bite and threw it out such a waste of money definitely do not recommend to anyone. I recently moved to this sleepy little town and found the local breakfast diner absolutely pleasant! It was wonderful my food came out promptly, and the coffee was fresh. The place was all hustle bustle, and moving so quickly while the servers curtly waited on our tables. The ambience is perfect and was excellent! I got my food and was out the door in less than 15 min. I even got to meet a 22 year veteran of the United States Marine Corps who was a scout sniper in vietnam. This Vidor, Texas location is hands down the worst restaurant in the State of Texas. Disgusting employees, disgusting environment, D- food rating, lazy staff, unclean utensil/dishes, drinks always have something floating in them, never answer the phones for to-go orders. this place needs to be wiped off the map and replaced. read more

Walking in dreaming of nostalgia and I was met with the instant smell of meth, grease and regret. Now from experience I know it takes at least 3 waitresses to make a full set of teeth which is a policy of the Waffle House but none were present. They were not busy at all yet it took 10 mins to great me at the high counter. Sighs.... Typical because you have to be careful with those hot glass pipes being used out the back door. One thing I remember is the food was 7/10 if you are sober and 11/10 if you are wasted. This food today and staff was a dumpster fire to say the least. The chicken was dry and cooked under a weight (against Waffle House policy) and the hash browns tasted like charcoal due to the grill being dirty. I noticed this when the waitress picked out black stuff from them with her bare fingers. When presented with my food she paused and looked at the ticket and back at me... my eggs were wrong and she asked if that was ok... to which I replied "ummm , no". When I did get my food back all of it was cold including the butter on my cold toast was buttered cold due to the butter still being SOILD. Recooked eggs hot and on point though!!! Also the chicken resembled a thing some of you older gen will know as "flubber". Just a rubbery, tendon filled piece of pseudo meat adjacent. In other words man it's good to be back in a town where I've lost nothing, and don't dwell on memories of a gratefully dead me! Here is to you Vidor with your shotgun shacks and double wides. Didn't even bother to stop like I would for any other. Entire place was swarmed with drunk and loud people. Went in to use the bathroom and had some lady slam the doors looking for her drunk friend. A table was just screaming Fuck, and it's just pathetic. Based on other reviews anyways I guess it's a good choice to steer clear. read more

You stop at Waffle House not for a five star meal, but the expected 5 star Waffle House experience that you expect after dozens of Waffle House visits nationwide. Well at least south of the Mason Dixon line! So after driving 900 miles through the night, we were just looking for a WH in a decent area with easy off and back on the interstate. So, after passing on a couple in questionable locations, we got off in Vidor for our much anticipated WH breakfast. What was not expected was the epic fail start to finish that we ended up with. We sit at the counter and pick up the menus only to find that the counter hadn't been cleaned very well underneath and the back of the menus had coffee mixed with cleaning fluids that now was on my hands. Next we order food and drinks. Drinks delivered in a somewhat reasonable amount of time for coffee and iced tea, but no sweetener dish anywhere nearby. So, I ask for sugar and Splenda. But, instead of delivering the dish, we get a couple of packets put on the counter, right in the wet spot where the clean up has just occurred. Now it's a little busy, but not slammed Waffle House busy, if you know what I mean. And if you've been to a few Waffle House's you should. I'm still waiting for the sweeteners to be replaced, no, not yet. Listening for our order to be placed, no, not yet. Although I have noticed that the waffle is already cooking. Ok, our server yells out our order--incorrectly. This may be embarrassing, but I actually know the crazy calls for my meal. So, I get the server's attention to correct the order. She apologizes, yells the order correction, but runs off before I can remind her about the sweeteners--again. Whatever, still hoping for a good meal, no biggie, I get the attention of another server and get the replacement packets, still no dish, just a couple of packets. And we are waiting again. Thankfully at this point we are maintaining a high degree of patience, most likely due to the degree of fatigue from the continuous driving leading us to this point. Woohoo, the food is here. Maybe not, the waffle arrives cold--of course, it's been sitting on the counter waiting for the rest of the order. Within a couple of seconds of the waffle's arrival, comes my wife's bacon and her breakfa....nope, just the bacon--and it is clearly burnt. No real surprise, all of the bacon was being burned. The flat top was clearly at to high a temperature. Every time meat was put on it, there was an immediate flash of smoke and burn, apparently only customers were noticing it, because during the long time that our visit required, no temperature adjustment was made to it, and meat continued to be delivered burnt, including our refire. The eggs were underdone. The home fries were overdone as well as incomplete, most likely the order correction was not mentally processed by the cook. We chose to just laugh it off, pay the check and get back on the road and eat later. It is by far the worst WH experience ever. This is including a significant amount of late night, I mean really late night visits from my younger days as well as plenty of normal time of day visits from a vast array of locations. So, bottom line, skip this place, at least in the near future. Eventually they'll figure it out, after it's Waffle House and eventually will become homogenous to the rest of the chain, delivering at the level to meet the customer's expectations. read more

So I know what your thinking why 5 stars at Waffle House well because I got to actually eat a cooked meal not fast food at 11Pm so I was happy about that 2 the service was excellent the waitress and cook both were very friendly and ask if I needed any thing several times if your in Vidor you don't expect this. read more

They put me hold for about 5 minutes when I called for a to go order, then a different person picks up the phone and asks me to call back in 10 minutes, because they need the phone line to run a credit card.
