Everything is a la carte, so be prepared for higher prices. The food was decent but not worth the price paid for the meal. Service was mediocre but nothing worth complaining about. Ordered the Sunrise burger with avocado and grilled onions added. It was all average... the fried egg was cooked through not runny. Meat patty large and moderately juicy but bland and needed salt and/or seasoning. The bun fell apart. This is my second time to eat here. The first time I ate at the restaurant and all was good. The second time I ordered to go and they put what would probably equal a cup of mayonnaise on my hamburger. Terrible disgusting. I had to use a knife to scrap all the condiments off the burger. I would suggest asking to put the mayonnaise and mustard on the side or prepare for a disgusting mess. read more

They were the friendliest staffs I've visited in The area. The place was clean and had many tables and seats to offer to make groups looking for a chill but upbeat spot and excellent food. The burger was the standout as it should be. It was large and cooked very well. It retained half of its juiciness but didn't offer much in the seasoning of it. I got the double cheeseburger that was 1lb of meat with both pepper jack and American cheese. It's the best way. Fries were okay. He'd passed away the previous week and I was waiting for my brother to arrive at the local airport so I stopped by the Hamburger Depot as the previous week, my brother in law mentioned it was really good. He was right, my burger and fried okra was very good. But most memorable, the guy who brought me my food heard me mention that I was traveling because my father had passed and gently placed a hand on my back when he brought me my food and in the most heartfelt and sincere way, gave me condolences for my loss. I've been looking for the best burger around. The Hamburger Depot in Nederland was good. I got the bacon cheeseburger and my husband got the hamburger steak plate. My burger was quite tasty and tasted homemade. The meat wasn't too seasoned and was a bit greasy (which can be expected). The size if the burger was good. Half way in I wished I'd gotten the "small depot burger". The patty wasn't too thin or thick, it was somewhere in the middle. The bun was toasted and fresh and so were the veggies in the burger. I got onion rings with mine and I didn't really care for the onion rings. The batter was thick and doughy. It was a little strange and hard once they cooled off. My husband got the hamburger steak plate. It consisted of a hamburger patty with grilled onions on top accompanied by some brown gravy, salad, toast and fries. The patty was huge and well seasoned (more seasoned then my burger). The gravy wasn't that great and definitely wasn't homemade, which is a shame because it could really make this dish better. The fries were good, nothing special. The restaurant offered a lot of seating. It wasn't too big inside but it was nice and clean. We were helped by a guy named Bobby who was an absolute pleasure. He joked with us as we ordered and made us feel welcomed our first time. If you go to the Nederland location ask for Bobby cause he's tha man! The Hamburger Depot is definitely worth a try. They have a menu on their site that you can look at prior to going in. I'll give Hamburger Depot another try sometime. read more

Have you ever wanted a big greasy burger that for some reason you could only find in a movie? Hamburger depot has somehow managed to bring the movie hamburger to reality. My first time at hamburger Depot I indulged with the double meat depot burger with mayonnaise, ketchup, cheese, and bacon. I'm not much of a vegetables on my burger kind of person. I also ordered a side of fried cheese curds. The cheese curds were amazing. Along with the ranch that you get they were perfect. The hamburger was amazing. The patties are just the right size and cooked just right. I opted for french fries on the side although I could've done without them. They are an add on. Would I recommend this restaurant? Oh my god yes. If you want an amazing burger for a fairly good price then you should check out hamburger Depot. I would argue that the prices are a little high but if you're not going to indulge yourself in this all the time definitely check it out. read more

Paid two extra dollars to get avocado and ranch on my burger. I asked for the ranch on the side so it wouldn't get soggy on my drive home. Got home and no ranch to be found. The avocados were so unripe that I was able to bend a slice with my fingers and touch its ends together without it breaking. It was so hard and gross that I took all of it off my burger and threw it away, despite having paid extra for it. Even if the avocado had been good this burger would be very average and not worth the price tag. I'll take a Big Mac over this place any day. On top of this all I waited about 15 minutes for this pathetic burger in their freezing cold restaurant. I will not be back and would give this place zero stars if I could. This is a great place for a great hamburger. The atmosphere is nice and welcoming, and I've always had a great experience with the staff. Everyone is nice and friendly. I am a regular customer at a number of their different locations, and it is usually a first-rate experience--Hamburger Depot typically serves some of the best burgers and grilled chicken sandwiches in southeast Texas. Not the case today at the location in Nederland, Texas, Texas. The restaurant was not at all busy upon our arrival, and yet the dining room was in complete disarray as if nobody was busing tables that day. We ordered, and it took 25 minutes to receive the order. It was not a large order or a complicated order. There is really no excuse for taking that long to prepare a couple of ordinary combo meals. When it did finally arrive, my burger was uncharacteristically dry. This was a very disappointing visit to a restaurant that I normally look forward to patronizing. read more

Well, they've lost my business on this visit. I'm aware of beef prices being higher but I think they've already raised their pricing. Now the burgers are considerably smaller especially the meat patty. Also the seasoning is about as bland as you can get. Considering the prices for a meal here there are plenty other places with a lot better hamburger. This was one of my favorite places but not any more. Final note: I went to the counter to get to get a knife and noticed a young man who was expediting the food. He was tossing the orders onto the serving area. I have eaten at this establishment 3 times. The burgers are good but don't go there if you are in any kind of hurry. Every time I go here it takes about 30 to 40 minutes to get your food. I went this past Saturday with the family and it took close to 45 minutes to get 4 burgers. Once again food tastes good but my time is valuable when I'm working 12 hours a day and don't want to waste an hour waiting on food. read more

Unlike most places everything on the menu is delicious! The burgers are huge and juicy, the fish is tender with a great crunchy batter, the grilled chicken is huge and has an amazing flavor, never dry, so whatever you order here and will taste great.
