The "Awful Waffle " gets a bad rap. I only get to eat at them while traveling for work as I live in Illinois now and there's only (1) in Collinsville (4) hours from my home. I've been enjoying The Waffle House for over (50) years, it's simple and unpretentious: My wife tells me I should just go to The Huddle House"I Scoff At That!". I tell her I was raised in Tennessee why don't you just ask me to drink Pepsi!! (NOT!) My son and I stopped at the Texarkana location for dinner and as always had "The All Star". Excellent as usual from the food to the service "Kalob and Paul" Thank You once again. Mr. Franchise owner you better keep these two young men around.

    Shouldn't this be refrigerated???

Having worked at a Waffle House during College...We try to visit a Waffle House whenever we travel through the South! However, this particular one left us re-thinking that plan. The server appeared to want to be anywhere but here. The condiments on the tables were disgustingly dirty. It looked like they were stocking the line with items such as milk and syrup as there were carts full of items sitting around all over. (The chocolate milk cartons stayed in the same place the whole time we were there - the whole hour - and never were put into the refrigerator). The food was served quickly and was less than mediocre. Definitely an unfortunate disappointment.

Don't believe the Hype! The staff had made many mistakes on our order, Cannot cook your EGGS correctly, No big party seating so I had to eat separated from my family, and to have the quote "Waffle House" how is it that the $2.00 biscuit and gravy better than your original waffles????? I do not recommend this business establishment to no one. Please save your money. And yes this place was not sanitary or clean.

Waffle House food is what it is so no surprise here. The high marks are for cleanliness and good service. I have not been here when busy so not sure how they do under pressure. No reason for a longer review. Will revise if needed if I eat here again.

Philly Cheese steak Sandwich with hash browns and grilled tomatoes

It's good hangover food but not so much good breakfast food. I ordered the Philly cheese steak sandwich. It comes with hash browns and I added grilled tomatoes to the hash browns. The tomatoes were nothing special. They were just a spoonful of diced tomatoes on a plate buried under my hash browns. The best thing on the plate ended up being the bread that held my meat. That buttery toast got soaked in the grease of my Philly and made me want to eat just bread. I finished the sandwich more for the bread than for the meat. The best part of the experience is how fast the crew in there worked. They seemed to be running! My party of three ordered food and received all 3 orders ten minutes later!!

The service is good the food is good but the music is so loud that I thought I was going out clubbing at 9:30 in the morning. Not for me.

We discovered them about 8 months ago while traveling through, needing some less processed options than typical eatout food, and tried it. Sooo glad we did! So now that we're in the area again we knew this is where we wanted to go. We even ordered extra meals to take with us for tomorrow! Ignore the lower star reviews bc they have nothing to do with quality (and no, the food is not bland)! If you want fancy highly processed and over seasoned gut burning food, don't go here - go to an impersonal restaurant serving commercial processed foods. Mother Kelley's is true homestyle flavors, meaning it's not fancy but it's home cooked comfort food (real ingredients) like my grandmother's was (mid 20th century); you'll love it!

The vibe and atmosphere was stellar. The staff were more than friendly and knew their craft beers! We tried some new flavors and were made undeniable fans. I ordered a plate of Duck Fat Fries. This is a total game changer! Even more so, dipping them golden fried sticks in Truffle Mayo... as Buford T. Justice would say... SUMBITCH. And that homemade ketchup? So good it made me want to go smack Junior's mama. We also ordered the Crawfish Dip. It was disgustingly scrumpdidallyumtious!!! Pure flavor profile explosion in my mouth. Never had anything like that before. My wife and I also decided to split a Smash Burger and that thick cut bacon with juicy beef patties... damn. One of the most memorable and satisfying experiences I've ever had, and I haven't even talked about the drinks. My eyes sparkled when I seen a Toasted Pecan Old Fashioned on the menu. A must try. ER MA GAWD!!! One of the best I've ever had... everrrrrr! We also ordered the Cinn-Full Cran Hard Cider by Locust... I now have to find this... just have to! My FIL ordered an ice cream treat with three spoons... lol. Everyone had to give it a try. We ended up ordering a growler of the State Street Blonde to go, and it lasted a day. Unbelievable. I'm heartbroken the place is closed, but will forever leave an impression of Texarkana for me. Thank you! As always, Enjoy & Happy Road-tripping!!

While passing through on a road trip, my local friend recommended Pecan Point and I'm glad I went. Located in downtown, you'll find free street parking in front of the restaurant. We were greeted as soon as we entered and the inside is spacious and casual. I ordered the raspberry Chipotle smash burger ($16), peach cobbler, and a flight of beer and cider ($10). What made this burger stand out was the raspberry Chipotle sauce and fried jalapeños! The flight includes four 4oz pours of any draught and mine were Irish red ale, Pecan Pointe ale, bock beer, and apple cider. The Irish red was my favorite and the Pecan Pointe my least. I would have liked the cobbler to be a little more crunchy, but was still enjoyable. I recommend and will visit again when in town.

Portions are huge, the staff greet you the moment you walk in, and after a few visits, I swear they'll have to roll me out the door (and I'll be smiling the whole way). The fried pickles and cheese curds? Absolutely incredible--perfectly crispy on the outside and addictive. The pancakes are massive yet light and fluffy, the bacon is perfectly crispy, and my coffee cup never runs dry. Honestly, with all this good food, they were seducing me into doing a happy dance right there at the table. Now, back to the star of the show: that chicken fried steak. It's huge, the meat is melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the coating is seasoned perfectly--crispy enough that even my leftovers stayed crunchy after days in the fridge and a spin in the microwave. Pure comfort food bliss. And let's not forget the biscuits and gravy--heavenly! I got my gravy on the side so I could dip both my biscuit and my chicken fried steak. Best decision ever. Texas Chuck Wagon is comfort food done right, with service that makes you feel like family. I'll be back... again and again (and again).
