Pretty disappointed. It's a fast food place. Everything is out in trays and they just put it on a plate. Dried out and tasteless. The high point was the biscuits and gravy. I would stop in again just for that. Leave everything else. read more

I used to eat at Grandy's as a kid in Tucson, AZ. Of course, that was about 30 years ago. So I was excited when I saw there was one in Texarkana and we were passing through there at lunch time. We stopped to eat and there were lots of changes, but we weren't disappointed. Mom was happy to see that catfish had been added to the menu. It was hot, freshly cooked and she really enjoyed it. Hubby got the fried chicken. He'd never eaten at a Grandy's before and liked their fried chicken. I was looking forward to the fried okra and the chicken fried steak. The chicken fried steak was what I remembered. But not the fried okra. It wasn't as hot as I'd liked. Darn. What I really missed was the salad bar, but I wasn't surprised it was gone. Having worked in a fast food restaurant, I know how hard those are to keep clean and filled. The workers were great! Friendly, fast, knowledgeable. We sat in dining area for quite a while and they kept checking on us. I still miss the Grandy's in Tucson. Maybe someday they'll come back?? read more

the food is great but i just witnessed the person working the drive thru drink out of my cup. literally saw her put her lips on the edge of my cup and drink the water i ordered . she rinsed the cup out with more water though. she told her coworkers what she did and they laughed along and gathered beside her as i watched it all happen . she mentioned to them that i probably know that she drank out of it when she realized i was staring at her the whole time. she didn't close her window all the way so i heard everything too and i'm grossed out . especially with this whole covid variant . i'm not one to complain and i've never made a bad review, but hats off to grandys if they replace these people. read more

I only go here for the BET sandwich. Today I decided to drive through. When I opened my food I knew it was a mistake as always the tomatoes where green and the slices 3/4 in thick. The chicken fried steak was old and tough. Mashed potatoes weren't seasoned and threw on the chicken fried steak. I changed my mind about corn..before I paid decided I wanted okra instead. They gave me the corn. I said I wanted one extra roll they gave me 2 which I had to pay for of course. The floor was sticky by the soda dispenser. I wasn't pleased. I went through the drive thru window today.....wow! The girl taking the order was efficient and quick. She got my order right! And, I will have to say...your jalapeños are the best in town,....made me sweat! The food was hot when I got to my destination to sit down and eat it! The rolls ,.....oh, so yummy!!! I usually have no complaints about this restaurant, but tonight, 11/10/2018, was by far the worst experience yet. The staff didn't acknowledge us until we were standing there for at least 5 minutes. Kept walking by us replenishing the warmers, but wouldn't even look at us. I eventually got to order the catfish dinner. It was under cooked and very muddy tasting. I didn't bother getting a replacement considering how we were treated when we first got there. Very disappointed in this restaurant as it was at one time a friendly place with good food. read more

After having a negative experience at another restaurant we found this Grandy's. Oh my word, I am so glad we did. The staff was awesome, especially Chaundra W. She made us feel welcome and had us laughing within minutes of walking in the door. The catfish was hot and fried to perfection. The fries were warm and crispy as well. Other members of my party had the chicken fried steak and potatoes and raved about it. Awesome experience all around. read more
