Could I give zero stars?? I grew up in Georgia and have eaten at a lot of Waffle Houses over the years and throughout the South. This place is without a doubt the worst Waffle House I have ever been in! They were busy but not swamped. It took almost 30 minutes to place our order. We ordered 2 All Stars, both with soft scrambled eggs, both with bacon, one with grits in a bowl, one with hash browns scattered and smothered. Food came fairly quickly after finally ordering. Both egg orders were scorched FAR from soft scrambled! My grits were on the plate, not in a bowl, obviously lumpy, and cool. DH hash browns were scattered but no onions. Why didn't we send the plates back? Should have!! Didn't eat the eggs. Bacon was good. Toast was tepid Waffles were ok. If this Waffle House was in GA, they would loose their franchise!! This used to be my go to for breakfast. I knew all the employees, and they knew what my order was before I even said anything. They were friendly and fun to chat with. The past 6 months has seen a total change. I walked in a while ago, and every table was not bused and no one said hi or anything. I just turned and walked out. Absolutely appalling to have 2 customers but not a single table cleaned up. Fast forward to today... I decided to give them another try. Well.... Almost all new employees, even looked like upper management was interviewing potential employees. Sat down at the bar top, and waited 5 min. No greeting, no order, nothing. Servers were there and not busy. One server even started talking to friends that walked in while I waited, but still no service. I got up and walked out. I'm done with this WH. I was visiting Arkansas to see my parents and stopped by Waffle House. This place is tiny, busy, and had very limited seating. Despite that, we were greeted and seated almost immediately. One lady was clearly in charge. I saw her name tag later when I paid; her name was Cindy. Although she wasn't necessarily the friendliest waitress ever, I noticed she was literally running around taking care of everything. Basically the only waitress, cashier, and manager. I was impressed with her work ethic, and the taste of the food. Overall this location seemed to work because of Cindy and I thought she deserved a shout out. read more

I was 16 and in Tenessee the first time I tried the place with orange/yellow tiles and black letters. I'm not sure if its just the fact that I can't get this delcious-ness in Vegas, or if its really THAT GOOD, but I could eat here daily and be happy. Not to mention I could eat here daily for $8 including a tip, entire breakfast, juice and coffee. I grubbed here 4 times while visiting Arkansas. So much that the staff would adress me as "vegas girl". I switched it up and got smothered and covered, and chunked and peppered. Of course had the waffle, always a side of sausage (patties not links). It's just the overall ambiance that the Waffle House offers. The genuine customer service, the great prices, I even appreciate the 2 old southern ladies who only tipped .50. We are from California and are traveling. We have seen Waffle Houses all over the South so we decided to stop and eat at one this morning. We found the employees to be very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious. The facility was very clean. My only suggestion for the manager is to make sure both of your cooks are wearing gloves we noticed that only one Cook was wearing gloves while preparing food. read more

Last time I was there there was a cockroach on the menus by the silverware just hanging out and swaying it's antennas back and forth. It was discusting to see and when we told the waitress she just picked the menu where the critter was up and took it to the back. Didn't say a word just ignored it all like it didn't happen. As a food snobby Californian, I didn't want to like this place. (Trying to keep off the 20 lbs I lost a year ago) The waffles were soft and fresh! I hate overcooked food. Everything was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Way too much butter and grease as expected but apparently that helps taste. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The hash browns were different than I'm used to but again, no issues. My 5 yr old couldn't get enough. Two bummers... I've had better coffee and they only serve OJ. Watched the cook "wash his hands" (ran them under some water for a few seconds) then grab raw bacon out of the fridge, flipped a burger, messed with some hash browns, wiped his hands on the towel he was using to wipe down the line, messed with the cash register, handled cash, then went back to the line. So basically raw bacon grease was on everything. The young guy that was helping with the cooking (and spreading raw bacon everywhere) was also a cocky douche that talked down to the rest of the staff and the customers. Considering he is probably barely out of high school and his life accomplishments include giving a restaurant full of customers trichinosis he probably needs to slow his roll. He also looked at me like I was idiot when I asked his about the hash browns being smothered, verifying that smothered meant with onions (after I saw him putting cheese on an order of hash browns). He might have been justified with his rolling eyes and attitude if the "smothered" hash browns had come out with onions. Instead they came out covered in cheese without an onion in sight. Fortunately for me, I was just picking up an order for somebody else. I wouldn't eat there if you paid me. read more
